Chaker","doi":"10.22329/digital-press.156.270","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.22329/digital-press.156.270","url":null,"abstract":"This chapter explores the healing journey of a young refugee girl from wartorn Syria, through participation in the Tikkun Youth Project within the first year of her resettlement in Canada. Through a narrative approach, her story is considered from the social, cultural, and historical contexts, based on the work of Clandinin and Connelly (2000). Stemming from this theoretical framework, in-depth individual interviews with the young girl and participatory observation affords a better understanding of her transitional journey towards healing from the trauma of war, dislocation, and relocation.
