In our scheme, a sensor node is selected to be a cluster node in each grid. The responsibility of cluster node is to aggregate the events from sensor node and respond to base station. The base station obtains the occurred event information from its cluster nodes. Based on pre-deployment position to set the routing table for communication, which would allow data transfer between nodes, and transmits it back to the base station. The authentication mechanism of cluster nodes and base station is proposed in this paper.","PeriodicalId":290976,"journal":{"name":"2012 Sixth International Conference on Innovative Mobile and Internet Services in Ubiquitous Computing","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115719438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In multi-user systems, the multi-user interference (MUI) degraded the system performance, especially in near-far effect environments. An adaptive weight partial PIC (AWPPIC) scheme is proposed to reduce the MUIs and to improve the bit error rate (BER) performance for uplink OFDMA systems. Simulation results show that under the near far problems for block sub carrier assignment (BCA) scheme, the AWPPIC scheme can improve the BER performance no matter what the system load is.","PeriodicalId":290976,"journal":{"name":"2012 Sixth International Conference on Innovative Mobile and Internet Services in Ubiquitous Computing","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117199370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previous research fails to deal with the long-distance dependencies in Chinese sentences such as opinion targets repeated and echo of the different part of sentence. In this paper, we describe a probabilistic approach that incorporates the long-distance dependencies to identify opinion targets. The skip-chain Conditional Random Fields (CRFs) is used to model the long distance dependencies between sentiment sentences such as the repeated word and similar expression. Experiments show that our method outperforms linear-chain CRFs based method, and it is effective to identify opinion targets from Chinese sentences.","PeriodicalId":290976,"journal":{"name":"2012 Sixth International Conference on Innovative Mobile and Internet Services in Ubiquitous Computing","volume":"69 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121016822","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Evaluation was done in a live network, on one Node B. Traffic, characteristic for the emerging Machine Type Communication and online multiplayer games, was generated by an application running on 10 mobile phones in parallel, all connected to the Node B under test. The focus of the work was on the RTT (Round Trip Time) and radio cell statistics. The main goal of the cell statistics analysis was to evaluate potential impact of the additional traffic on the performance of 3G/HSPA radio access network. It is concluded that system is designed more for continuous traffic patterns with high data rate in general, than for sporadic traffic patterns with very low data rate, like that of M2M or online gaming nodes. Therefore, the cost of signaling and control activity is dominant in comparison to the data rate.","PeriodicalId":290976,"journal":{"name":"2012 Sixth International Conference on Innovative Mobile and Internet Services in Ubiquitous Computing","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125029469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Smart buildings comprise a key part of smart spaces, where the provided services, such as climate and lighting control or security, can be offered intelligently if one considers the static and dynamical status of the building and the location of residents. This work is focused on providing an autonomous system capable of collecting a wide range of monitoring information to ensure a comfortable atmosphere in a building and assist residents with smart automation. Location plays an important role in many context-aware applications and it is used in this work in the form of an adaptive localization mechanism based on RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) and IR (Infra-Red) to implement a tracking system based on a Radial Basis Function Network and a Particle Filter, which is capable of providing location user with a low error. A theoretical study about models of transmission power losses in indoor environments has also been tackled, hence the number and position of sensors and the accuracy of measurements are optimized. A real scenario that exploits the capabilities of the system is described and used to gather results that demonstrate how this localization mechanism enhances the experience of users in smart buildings through a set of services.","PeriodicalId":290976,"journal":{"name":"2012 Sixth International Conference on Innovative Mobile and Internet Services in Ubiquitous Computing","volume":"412 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123254023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unfortunately, it usually defines the data shared by these devices in a syntactic level, showing a lack of expressiveness. During the last decade, the Semantic Web (SW) has aimed to solve these problems by adding logic to the Web to make it machine-understandable and by therefore enhancing the interoperability of the applications using it. The SW is used in the Triple Space Computing paradigm, which proposes a blackboard model where semantically described knowledge is shared between different devices in a completely Restful, and consequently WoT compliant, manner. This paradigm's shared blackboard can be implemented using many strategies, from centralized to completely distributed. In this work, we compare and analyze the behaviors of these two extreme cases in several simulations which try to represent common IoT scenarios. Finally, we propose an improvement of the completely distributed strategy by enabling the gossiping between devices.","PeriodicalId":290976,"journal":{"name":"2012 Sixth International Conference on Innovative Mobile and Internet Services in Ubiquitous Computing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122553486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, with the dissemination of mobile devices to Internet connectivity, users can interact with sensor networks and collect environmental data, anytime, anywhere using user-friendly mobile applications. Following the Internet of Things vision, the integration of all sorts of Internet-based devices is considered a big challenge. New infrastructures are required in order to interconnect these devices independently of the used technologies. This paper proposes a model for WSNs monitoring based on a REST Web service and XML messages to provide a mobile ubiquitous approach for WSN monitoring. Data collected from a WSN is stored in a database. Then, mobile clients send XML based messages to a HTTP server through a well-defined REST interface, requesting WSN collected data. A WSN laboratory test bed was used to perform the evaluation, demonstration, and validation of the proposed model. Results show that proposed solution is able to collect and present data in a mobile environment, and it is ready for use.","PeriodicalId":290976,"journal":{"name":"2012 Sixth International Conference on Innovative Mobile and Internet Services in Ubiquitous Computing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128770090","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, after an introduction to the scope of the pSHIELD project, we describe a case study application to the monitoring of freight trains transporting hazardous materials. The application uses heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) to measure environmental parameters like temperature, vibrations and transmit them to the security control center. The sensors are integrated by means of an appropriate middleware and data is elaborated by a specfically developed application. We report the architecture and the results achieved by testing the application and some of its relevant SPD functionalities, including data criptography, in a real railway environment.","PeriodicalId":290976,"journal":{"name":"2012 Sixth International Conference on Innovative Mobile and Internet Services in Ubiquitous Computing","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134091369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
