Elemental ratios such as strontium/barium (Sr/Ba) and TOC/S were applied for paleosalinity reconstruction. The Duwi black shales show Sr/Ba >0.5 and TOC/S ˂5. The values of the elemental ratio show that the Duwi black shales were deposited in a marine environment. For hydrothermal activities ratio, Sc/Cr was used and Binary diagrams TOC vs P were constructed to discriminate between normal water, mixed and hydrothermal influence. The Sc/Cr ratio was ˂0.120 indicating that the black shales in the Nile Valley district were deposited in a hydrothermal water environment. The binary discriminant diagram of TOC vs P shows that all the shales were influenced by hydrothermal processes during the time of their deposition.","PeriodicalId":290108,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Faculty of Science, Zagazig University","volume":"2020 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141706597","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Especially in regions where there's limited exposure of rock formations and easily accessible geological data, there's a higher risk of encountering unforeseen hazards. This study tackles this challenge in one of Egypt's heavily deformed areas, offering a comprehensive method for conducting detailed geological and structural mapping in urban settings. This involves collecting data from both the surface and subsurface through field measurements. The aim is to create a detailed profile of the geological conditions, including the underlying structural framework, in a newly established urban hub chosen as a case study. To achieve this, we've carefully mapped out the surface structural data on an intricate geological map, considering the shape and distribution of surface rock layers. We've also conducted a geophysical survey using direct current resistivity (DCR) sounding to reveal the near-surface geology. To overcome the challenges in interpreting DCR sounding data, we've applied both traditional and innovative inversion techniques, making use of available borehole information. Additionally, we've accumulated and analysed the mapped fault segments, both on the surface and in the near-surface, to construct a detailed structural model. Since issues like fault ruptures and the expansion of shale layers have significant implications for sustainable urban development, we've provided an initial assessment of geohazards. This approach offers a comprehensive view of urban geological mapping, providing a foundation for identifying potential hazards or opportunities in the early stages of proposed sustainable development projects.","PeriodicalId":290108,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Faculty of Science, Zagazig University","volume":"45 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141691422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most abundant and promising gas and condensate province in Egypt is the Nile delta basin. The three spectrometric radioactive gamma ray-logs (eU, eTh, and K% logs) were used to determine the hydrocarbon potentialities zones on the sandstone reservoirs in the area. Applying this technique to the Kafr El-Sheikh Formation's recorded gamma-ray spectrometric logs from Egypt's Nile delta. The different reservoir parameters and the net pay zones in the research region were determined by analyzing the conventional well logs (gamma-ray, resistivity, neutron, density, and sonic logs). The application of the thorium normalization technique can be used as a quick guide for hydrocarbon accumulation zones in the study reservoir rocks because the agreement ratios between the results of the well log analysis and those of the thorium normalization technique range from 67% to 73%, with an average ratio of 71% in six different studies.","PeriodicalId":290108,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Faculty of Science, Zagazig University","volume":"255 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141711626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among the pathogens affecting Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), Aeromonas hydrophila is the most agent causing high mortality. In the June 2023 to September 2023, around 120 moribund and freshly dead Nile tilapia were gathered from the Nile River, Al-Munib, Cairo, Egypt. The clinical symptoms in these fish were consistent with Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS), including indications of surface hemorrhage, erosions, loss of scales, and some samples even showed exophthalmia, eye cataract and skin discoloration. Postmortem assessments indicated internal organ deterioration, enlargement of gall bladder, pale liver, yellowish fluid in the abdominal cavity and pigmentation on surface of the liver. Identification of A. hydrophila was accomplished through phenotypic characterization, diagnostics using SRO, GN24, features and homology of 16S rRNA gene sequences. Antibiogram analysis revealed sensitivity to ciprofloxacin, nitrofurantoin, oxolinic acid, and ofloxacin. However, resistance was observed against amoxicillin, lincomycin, spiramycin, tetracycline, colistin and cephalothin. Furthermore, PCR tests confirmed the presence of the aerolysin and hemolysin genes in the identified A. hydrophila strains. Sequencing the genes and conducting phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA sequence demonstrated that the A. hydrophila strain with H/A (accession no. OQ687115) had a 100% match.","PeriodicalId":290108,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Faculty of Science, Zagazig University","volume":"12 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141705800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cardiotoxicity is a feared adverse effect that could restrict how anthracycline are used in therapeutic settings. Without respect to the oncological prognosis, it may have an impact proceeding the survival and feature of being of malignance patients. A sector that remains quickly developing and holds promise intended for the medication of a wide variety of disorders is safe medical delivery using natural products. The present study's objective is assessing the efficacy of Cannabidiol (CBD) in treating Cardiotoxicity brought on by Doxorubicin (DOX). Fifty male Rats of the Sprague-Dawley breed, 150±25g each were alienated into five equal groups. Distilled water was given to Group I. whereas Group II was administered doxorubicin (18 mg/kg bwt) intraperitoneally. Group V was given Trimetazidine (10 mg/kg bwt), Group IV received 1 ml of CBD (26 mg/kg bwt), while Group III received CBD orally. On the eleventh day (IV, V), Doxorubicin (18 mg/kg bwt) was also given to both groups in a single dose. Serum was analyzed for Troponin (I), Ck-MB, ALT, AST, TNF- , and IL-6. The pretreatment and administration of cannabidiol oil caused significant improvement in lowering cardiac enzymes (Troponin I and Ck-MB), ALT, AST and inflammatory markers (TNF- and IL6). In conclusion, an important effect was seen after CBD (26 mg/kg bwt) treatment. Finally, the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities of CBD might be the reason for its putative beneficial properties.","PeriodicalId":290108,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Faculty of Science, Zagazig University","volume":"49 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141695232","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
