However, to be really successful, these e-marketplaces must be open, trusted, fair and transparent. They must be able to convey on-line the same feeling of trust, security and privacy that traditional marketplaces do. This has implication on three critical aspects: the decisions to be made about membership of traders; their admissibility to negotiations; the controls over the negotiation processes. In this paper we discuss trust and privacy problems related to admittance to negotiation within e-marketplaces and we introduce a novel method for automating the process consistently with traders' privacy requirements.","PeriodicalId":287894,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Issues of E-Commerce and Web-Based Information Systems (WECWIS 2002)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115832240","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The emergence of Web Services represents a significant advance in the continuing evolution of e-business. Web services are self-contained, modular business process applications, based on open standards, that enables an integration model for facilitating program-to-program interaction. What does this mean? For the first time, Business-to-Business applications have a flexible way to discover and compose services into powerful business solutions. It is a step stone technology that supports the vision of Dynamic e-business-the dynamic adaptation of business process, collaboration, and choreography leading to the realization of innovative business strategies, offerings and relationships.","PeriodicalId":287894,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Issues of E-Commerce and Web-Based Information Systems (WECWIS 2002)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121282835","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In most bilateral negotiation models, two negotiation agents negotiate by sending proposals and counterproposals back and forth. Proposals and counterproposals usually use a set of negotiation primitives to define the contents. These primitives deal with complete proposals or the whole negotiation process. With these primitives, a negotiation agent can issue a call-for-proposal (CFP), reject or accept the received proposal, propose a new proposal, or terminate the whole negotiation process. However, there is no primitive about individual attributes within proposals. In this paper, we propose a new category of negotiation primitives that have finer granularities than existing primitives do. They are in the attribute level instead of the proposal level, as other primitives are. These messages can help negotiation agents to find Pareto optimal solutions if both sides agree to use them. In order to eliminate non-Pareto optimal solutions, these primitives should be used before the actual negotiation (bargaining) begins. Pareto optimal solutions help both sides to reduce the negotiation effort and time, and these solutions are theoretically preferable to non-Pareto optimal solutions.","PeriodicalId":287894,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Issues of E-Commerce and Web-Based Information Systems (WECWIS 2002)","volume":"2011 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127358732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conceptual integration model is managed by a design time repository. Designed integration models (for example, the exchange of purchase orders with trading partners) are stored in the design time repository as meta data. The runtime execution paradigm of the B2B integration technology that executes actual business events going back and forth between applications and/or trading partners follows the interpretation approach. The run time engine instantiates actual integration instances as data instance in the runtime repository according to the integration models stored in the design time repository.","PeriodicalId":287894,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Issues of E-Commerce and Web-Based Information Systems (WECWIS 2002)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122277449","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Especially in case of large multi-vendor product catalogs classified data becomes an important asset and success factor. The most known systems are UNSPSC and eCl@ss, however they are still developing, and new systems are emerging as well. Classification systems differ not only in content but also in structure from each other. The management and exchange of the systems between market partners must be able to get along with these differences. A common structure model describing classification systems is missing so far. This paper discusses the design of classification systems and argues to develop standardized messages using XML Schema for the transmission of classification systems.","PeriodicalId":287894,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Issues of E-Commerce and Web-Based Information Systems (WECWIS 2002)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131216295","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The challenge is that data analysts wish to infer patterns of client-side behavior from server-side data. However, because only a fraction of the user's actions ever reach the Web server, analysts must rely on incomplete data. In this paper, we propose a client-side monitoring system that is unobtrusive and supports flexible data collection. Moreover, the proposed framework encompasses client-side applications beyond the Web browser. Expanding monitoring beyond the browser to incorporate standard office productivity tools enables analysts to derive a much richer and more accurate picture of user behavior on the Web.","PeriodicalId":287894,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Issues of E-Commerce and Web-Based Information Systems (WECWIS 2002)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134475291","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The challenge for them is to find the right prices and pricing plans for their network services. In order to satisfy business objectives, prices and pricing plans have to be designed such that they are attractive to end-users but also guarantee revenues. In order to achieve that, it is necessary to have a precise understanding of the usage behavior of end-users under different pricing plans. In this paper, we present existing pricing plans in the market, and discus their advantages and shortcomings. As the result of our analysis, we propose a new pricing plan, which is attractive to end-users as well as ISPs. However, in order to smooth the migration of end-users from existing pricing plans to the new plan, marketing and business managers need support. This could be done with the help of a business intelligence tool, which can provide them with detailed information about user behavior. Such a tool for supporting service providers in pricing network services is presented in this paper. This tool, which is called HP OpenView Dynamic Netvalue Analyzer, helps to analyze and model pricing plans and prices. We demonstrate capability of DNA by describing the creation of a tiered, usage-based pricing plan based on real network usage data under a flat-rate pricing plan.","PeriodicalId":287894,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Issues of E-Commerce and Web-Based Information Systems (WECWIS 2002)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127263293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For general queries, the precision is most important, but for specific uses, e.g. scientific researchers and applicants for patent rights, the recall is most important and is often ignored. In this paper, an approach to Web pages recommendation based on concept association is introduced. This approach can produce recommended Web page links for users based on the information that associates strongly with users' queries, and therefore improve the recall of a search engine. In the paper, we discuss the meaning, effect and variety of concept association, and describe how to generate associational information related with users' queries and how to realize the association-based recommendation of Web pages. We also present relevant experimental results and give idea about our further work.","PeriodicalId":287894,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings Fourth IEEE International Workshop on Advanced Issues of E-Commerce and Web-Based Information Systems (WECWIS 2002)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2002-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129792535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
