Her vision was 20/30, N6 in right eye and 20/200 and N36 in left eye. She had nuclear sclerosis grade 2 and optical coherence tomography showed stage-2 macular hole in left eye. The macular hole diameter was 286 microns and the basal dimeter of 486 microns. The patient underwent cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation in left eye. At 1 month, an inner retinal layer apposition was noted with subsequent inner to outer retinal apposition, resulting in complete spontaneous closure at the 3rd month follow up with visual acuity gain of 20/40, N8. This case highlights that stage-2 macular hole can close spontaneously with relief of vitreomacular traction.","PeriodicalId":287670,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Ophthalmology & Visual System","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121481586","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are also called third gender or eunuch transversity as they don't conform to the traditional notion of male and female thus are not accepted by the mainstream society, so their rights for everything like health, education, culture, dignity are violated. Before dividing the world into two gender boxes, we are all human beings who deserve to enjoy every opportunity and benefits of living, including healthcare, and its important component Eye care. Aim: the aim of this research work was to find the prevalence of eye problems in transgender and to explore factors and barriers for not reporting to eye care hospitals and clinics for seeking eye care. Methods: the study design of this research work was descriptive cross-sectional study design and technique used for collecting data of sample size 73 was snowball non-random sampling technique from participants who represented themselves as a transgender in a setting of transgender communities. Results: The prevalence of ocular findings in transgender was 68.5% and the main barriers for not reporting to eye clinics was fear of discrimination, financial problems, lack of awareness, verbal abuse, misconceptions. And factors for not wearing spectacles are cosmetic issues occupational restrictions and discomfort. There is a significant effect of barriers, age and last eye examinations on ocular findings in Transgender with the p-value =0.006, 0.009 and 0.030 respectively.","PeriodicalId":287670,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Ophthalmology & Visual System","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131049757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Orbital emphysema leading to orbital compartment syndrome resulted in visual loss despite treatment with lateral canthotomy, cantholysis and surgical decompression. Orbital compartment syndrome is an ophthalmic emergency and should be treated immediately with lateral canthotomy and cantholysis. There is little literature on the management and outcomes of orbital compartment syndrome with expansile gases such as C3F8 which may quadruple in volume within 96 hours. Hyperbaric oxygen has been reported to be of benefit but patients may require orbital decompression for definitive treatment. Although orbital emphysema with air rarely threatens vision orbital emphysema with expansile gases can lead to orbital compartment syndrome and visual loss.","PeriodicalId":287670,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Ophthalmology & Visual System","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125071325","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

He put to rest the idea of visual rays being emitted from the eye, demonstrating vision occurs by intromission of light rays to the eye. Through observational experimentation he characterized the behavior of light and described many visual phenomena that are now considered visual perception. Ibn al-Haytham’s most significant work, Kitab al-Manazir was written in the eleventh century and was translated to Latin, as De aspectibus during the middle of the thirteenth century. Its introduction to Latin Europe stimulated the study of optics within the nascent universities of Europe and provided a model to conduct experiments and influenced natural philosophers for centuries.","PeriodicalId":287670,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Ophthalmology & Visual System","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131000797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methodology: This cross-sectional study was carried on 114 subjects through non-probability convenient sampling technique, both gender and age ranging from 15 to 30years who had not undergone any ocular surgery or medical treatment for hypertension glaucoma diabetes. The data collected from the patients at the department of ophthalmology during time of 8am-2pm in Madinah teaching hospital, Faisalabad in duration of 7months from January 2018 to August 2018. Data was collected after taking consent and extensive history. Visual acuity was tested by using Snellen chart and IOP measured by Air puff tonometer and weight measured by weight machine in Kgs and Height measured by Hight scale in feet. Data was noted on Performa. Data was analyzed by using test multiple linear regressions by using SPSS version 20. Result: Total number of studied individuals were 114, 48(42%) males and 66(57.9%) females with age ranges from 15-30 years. Weight and Height was measured and tested relation with IOP and gender by using Linear multiple regression test. Analysis shows that relation of weight and IOP is significant (p<0.001) with mean of IOP 17.432±3.4397 and weight 57.71±12.774. Weight is more affected the males then females statistically. Height and IOP weekly related statistically (p<.794) with mean of height and IOP 5.306±.2159 and 17.432±3.4397. Height is also weekly affect IOP in females then males. Conclusion: The weight is strongly affecting the IOP then height. Males have larger height and high weight so they affect the IOP more than females according to gender. In clinical practice it can allow to test IOP in highly weighted patients.","PeriodicalId":287670,"journal":{"name":"Advances in Ophthalmology & Visual System","volume":"170 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132906133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
