According to Barudin, et al (2021), hypertension significantly affects quality of life, patients suffering from hypertension who do not manage themselves properly have a poor quality of life. Patients who suffer from hypertension with comorbidities or complications tend to experience a decrease in quality of life, such as in physical, psychological, social, and environmental aspects (Alfian et al., 2017). This study aims to identify the factors that affect the quality of life of hypertensive patients in the Subangjaya Village, the Working Area of UPTD Sukabumi, Sukabumi City. Factors that can affect the quality of life include: gender, age, education level, employment status, length of suffering, and self-management. This research is a correlational study with a cross sectional approach with a total sample of 136 respondents. Total sampling way of taking research samples. Hypothesis analysis in this study used Chi-Square and logistic regression tests. The results of this study identified no relationship between age, gender, employment status, and duration of suffering from hypertension with quality of life because it had a P-value > 0.05, and there was a significant relationship between self-management and quality of life with a P value -value 0.000 and correlation value (OR) 12.632. It is hoped that the UPTD Sukabumi Health Center can improve health education regarding the importance of self-management of hypertension sufferers.","PeriodicalId":282030,"journal":{"name":"Healthcare Nursing Journal","volume":"299 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139359627","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to investigate the influence of video-based education on family knowledge of febrile seizure management in toddlers. A quantitative pre-experimental design using a pre-test and post-test approach was employed. The study population consisted of families with toddlers who had a history of febrile seizures, and a consecutive sampling technique yielded a sample size of 15 participants. Data were collected using a modified Guttman scale questionnaire on febrile seizure management, which underwent content validity assessment. Univariate analysis was conducted to examine the central tendency of age, while gender, occupation, and education were presented as frequency distributions. Paired sample T-tests were used for bivariate analysis. The findings indicated that the average age of the respondents was 31.20 years, with 14 participants being female (93.3%). The majority of participants were unemployed (86.7%) and had completed high school education (80.0%). The pre-test knowledge score on febrile seizure management in toddlers was 8.67, which significantly increased to 14.73 in the post-test, with a P-value of 0.000 (<0.05). These results demonstrate the significant influence of video-based education on enhancing family knowledge of febrile seizure management in toddlers. This study suggests that healthcare professionals in primary health center should implement video-based educational programs to educate families about febrile seizure management in toddlers.","PeriodicalId":282030,"journal":{"name":"Healthcare Nursing Journal","volume":"71 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139359658","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Weaning is a series of processes of releasing mechanical ventilation assistance from the patient's body and takes place gradually, the culminating point of which is the process of extubation / release of artificial airways. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the installation of a percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy and the process of weaning a ventilator in the ICU room of Awal Bros Hospital, Pekanbaru. This study used an analytic observational method using a cross sectional design with a total sample of 25 people using a total sampling technique. The results of this study used the chi square test and obtained a p value of 0.001 where the value is less than 0.05 (0.01 <0.05), so that means there is a relationship between Percutaneous Dilatational Tracheostomy (PDT) placement and the Weaning process, PDT is faster in the weaning process. This research is expected to be useful for patients who have Percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy installed so that they can quickly complete the ventilator weaning process.","PeriodicalId":282030,"journal":{"name":"Healthcare Nursing Journal","volume":"41 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139359791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
