Yıldırım","doi":"10.5152/gghs.2019.009","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5152/gghs.2019.009","url":null,"abstract":"Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common, preventable, and treatable disease characterized by airway and/or alveolar abnormalities that manifest itself with respiratory-tract symptoms and airway confinement, often caused by significant exposure to harmful particles or gases. COPD, which is expected to climb rapidly in the first place in the order of causes of death in 2030, remains an important public health problem. Considering the socioeconomic burden of COPD, Pulmonary rehabilitation is one of the least costly treatment strategies. Pharmacological treatments in COPD are limited to exercise capacity and effects on physical activity, so that the patient’s daily life can be sustained in social life, but only by pulmonary rehabilitation. The personalization of the pulmonary rehabilitation programmes at the patient base is at the point of being structured according to the barriers in front. It can occur due to a lot of causes, disease is characterized by permanent abnormal expansion of the bronchi. Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is an important treatment option for breaking the vicious cycle of chronic inflammation and infection. Airway cleaning techniques, exercise training and education are specially planned and implemented for the individual.
