Unfortunately, most of these disorders are incurable, however, the use of neurostimulators can delay the onset of symptoms, the course of the disease and significantly improve the quality of life. Treatment with the use of neurostimulators also allows you to avoid side effects which usually accompany pharmacotherapy, or in order to replace it when prescribed medication is not working properly or not working at all. This paper focuses mainly on vagus nerve and deep brain stimulation.","PeriodicalId":275391,"journal":{"name":"2022 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123565425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the grid side, the system is connected through Vienna rectifier which produces bipolar ±400 V DC voltage. The isolation is provided by two 10 kW series-resonant dual-active-bridges (SRDAB) which are connected in series at the input and parallel at the output. The grid rectifier is operating at 66 kHz and DC/DC converters operate at 100 kHz switching frequencies. A detailed description of each – AC/DC and DC/DC – stage is provided. The experimental validation of the whole charger at the nominal power includes exemplary waveforms from the oscilloscope – start-up process and steady-state operation, and power meter – efficiency and power quality parameters measurements.","PeriodicalId":275391,"journal":{"name":"2022 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"210 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124222451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, a test circuit composed of a half-bridge with an inductive load controlled with the square wave of variable frequency is described. This circuit offers operating conditions of the tested SiC power modules comparable to the typical soft- or hard-switched power converters using limited power from the DC supply. Moreover, different load scenarios may be investigated by the frequency, duty cycle, or inductance adjustment. The paper explains the basic operation principles of the discussed test circuit, and then examples of the measurements of medium voltage SiC MOSFET power modules are shown.","PeriodicalId":275391,"journal":{"name":"2022 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124989794","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Results of comparative tests conducted with the isolated phase-shifted full-bridge DC/DC converter are presented. The obtained results in the form of waveforms and electrical measurements with a precise power analyzer clearly indicate the advantage of the solution with the Litz wire winding. Due to the distorted current in the AC circuit and high frequency of the fundamental harmonic, a large part of the power loss in the transformer is the conduction loss. Possible causes of worse results in the case of windings made of copper foil are also indicated.","PeriodicalId":275391,"journal":{"name":"2022 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"172 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114256444","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The bipolar dc grid concept is known to provide lower on-state loss and much higher flexibility compared to conventional unipolar systems. However, multilevel structure also requires a proper balancing mechanism. The system described in the article contains three types of bidirectional three-level converters based on 1200 V SiC power devices: active-neutral-point-clamped (ANPC) grid converter, non-isolated DC/DC converter for battery energy storage, and isolated dual active-bridge as interface with electric vehicles. All of the converters use the same submodule. The crucial part of the infrastructure is energy storage which enables managing power flow across the converters, thus providing more independence from the grid, such as exceeding maximal charging power from the grid or providing standalone work in case of grid failure. Moreover, bidirectional converters also enable to operate as grid backup energy storage or return energy from the vehicle batteries in vehicle-to-grid (V2G) operation. The study is focused on the various operation modes of the presented fast-charging station, grounded on the theoretical and simulation-based analysis. The research in this thesis is accomplished using the statistical analysis method; the types of methods available are described later in this thesis. Statistical analysis is performed based on the age of transformers damaged and in service on the national grid. The data of transformers' lifetime are fitted to different distribution models. Due to the independent influence of the random transformer failure mechanism and the aging mechanism of the transformer, the curve of the actual transformer failure risk in the national grid with time is random. Transformer managers are interested in knee point age because aging transformer assets threaten grid reliability, and the transformer replacement strategy must be implemented efficiently.","PeriodicalId":275391,"journal":{"name":"2022 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130631092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
