In botto sections I have arranged the material alphabetically, and for each entry I have provided the date under which it is listed by Alfred Harbage in his Annals of English Drama (Philadelphia, 1940). For manuscript plays I have given locations and catalogue numbers j for printed plays, the numbers designated in W. W. Greg's A Bibliography of the English Printed Drama to the Restoration (London, 1939-51)» Vols. I and II (cited in this compilation as Greg) . Latin works are followed by the initial L in parentheses: (L) . Plays which have been the subjects of unpublished dissertation editions mentioned try G, E. Bentley, The Jacobean and Caroline Stage (Oxford, I956), Vols. III-V, are followed by an asterisk (*) • For plays in Section II, I give in brackets the year of the most recent edition. I have made some silent corrections of material in the Annals, and I have excluded plays edited since the appearance of that volume. Most, but not all, of the information provided in this checklist is accessible in the Annals : still, because it is available thers in scattered form, I have thought that the compilation offered herewith might be of some modest usefulness. It should, of course, be used with caution: Although I have tried to be as careful as possible, there are no doubt errors and oversights, for which I must accept full responsibility. Some of the plays included are now in the process of being edited; -others are available in manuscript dissertations, but belong to the period not covered by Bentley and are therefore not marked with an asterisk,","PeriodicalId":275331,"journal":{"name":"Opportunities for Research in Renaissance Drama","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1958-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115627912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
