Hence, judicious use of oxygen (O2) during resuscitation is warranted. In neonatal cardiac arrest at term gestation, current NRP guidelines recommend initiation of positive pressure ventilation (PPV) with 21% O2 and titration based on SpO2, but 100% O2 during chest compressions (CC). However, following return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), a combination of hyperemia (due to hypercarbia) and hyperoxia can result in cerebral oxidative stress and reperfusion injury. Objective: Abrupt weaning of inspired O2 to 21% after ROSC followed by upward titration (21%O2-titrate up) will limit hyperoxia without altering cerebral oxygen delivery (C-DO2) compared to gradual weaning from 100% O2 with …","PeriodicalId":275302,"journal":{"name":"Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Program","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117021379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is an uncommon condition of approximately 1-3000 live births. The management of this often lethal disease includes several common and unique potential causes of hyperbilirubinemia, not previously reported. We hope to describe the incidence and evaluate factors contributing to hyperbilirubinemia across the spectrum of congenital diaphragmatic hernia patients treated at a single institution.
