The source is mounted by using two passive elastomeric vibration isolators located at the front and rear of the source and an active force actuator acted as counter force to cancel the vibration is placed in parallel with the passive isolators. The source of vibration is assumed to be sinusoidal and vibration isolation is achieved when the total transmitted force to the foundation is minimized. By training the controller online EMRAN has the ability to add and prune the number of hidden layer neurons of its network based on a certain criteria that needs to be satisfied. This vibration model can be a representation of an engine mounted to its chassis and vibration isolation is needed to improve the passengerspsila ride comfort or the mounting of machinery to a rigid floor in a production plant where vibration isolation is essential not to influence other machineries.","PeriodicalId":274652,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132404044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Studies have been undertaken to optimize the rebroadcast focused on the route discovery of the AODV. In this study, lifetime ratio (LR) of the active route for the intermediate node is introduced to increase the number of unsuccessful packets delivery. Simulation results focused on the improvement of the packet delivery in the routing protocol compared to standard AODV. The performance metrics are measured by varying the number of nodes and the speeds. The OMNET++ is used to simulate the performance of the metrics.","PeriodicalId":274652,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131981975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nowadays the mobile industry began to pay more attention to barcode applications for domestic users need. This paper describes a mobile-based support application for Muslims to identify the Halal status (prepared in accordance to Islamic law) of the product using mobile device. We argue that our MMS camera phone-based application is an economical and effective way to speed up the Halal verification process as opposed to text entry in SMS. This paper discusses the barcode concept and its applications in consumer product industry. First we analyze the issue of Halal among the Muslim consumers and how mobile technology can be used. However, the scalability issue of SSM still poses a problem. To solve this state scalability problem, a scheme called aggregated multicast is proposed. The key idea is that multiple groups are forced to share a single delivery tree. In this paper, the basic idea of SSM and ASSM is give and a comparison between both is done. Based on what we have done, we conclude that aggregated multicast is an effective way to solve the scalability issue of SSM. However, it may suffer from routers under utilization problem. To achieve higher routers utilization, this paper proposes a new approach. Nonlinearities and parametric uncertainties are unavoidable problems faced in controlling robots in industrial plants. Tracking control of a single link manipulator driven by a permanent magnet brushed DC motor is a nonlinear dynamics due to effects of gravitational force, mass of the payload, posture of the manipulator and viscous friction coefficient. Furthermore uncertainties arise because of changes of the rotor resistance with temperature and random variations of friction while operating. Due to this fact classical PID controller can not be used effectively since it is developed based on linear system theory. Neural network control schemes for manipulator control problem have been proposed by researchers; in which their competency is validated through simulation studies. On the other hand, actual real time applications are rarely established. Instead of simulation studies, this paper is aimed to implement neural network controller in real time for controlling a DC motor driven single link manipulator. The work presented in this paper is concentrating on neural NARMA L2 control and its improvement called to as Smoothed NARMA L2 control. As proposed by K. S Narendra and Mukhopadhyay, Narma L2 control is one of the popular neural network architectures for prediction and control. The real time experimentation showed that the Smoothed NARMA L2 is effective for controlling the single link manipulator for both point-to-point and continuous path motion control.","PeriodicalId":274652,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125543459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most current handoff schemes only deal with the Layer-3 address allocation, that is, the IP address re-allocation. Without the integration with AP selection and CAC, the mobile node (MN) may be disconnected before a new IP address is allocated, which makes seamless handoff impracticable. In this paper, an integrated system is proposed. Firstly, AP selection is accomplished by choosing the AP with the smallest number of users associated with. We gather the information of active users on each AP through the modified beacon frames. Then, both call admission and a new IP address pre-fetch are operated through the DHCP relay simultaneously. Particularly, Fairness-enhanced limited fractional guard channel policy (FLFGCP) for CAC scheme and two additional thresholds, dropping probability threshold (DPT) and blocking probability threshold (BPT), are explicitly defined. Both DPT and BPT are applied to balance the dropping probability of handoff calls and blocking probability of new calls respectively. An OMNET++ simulation which demonstrates the applicability of cooperating the AP selection and call admission control for seamless handoff is included.","PeriodicalId":274652,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126679737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The RPN score is determined by multiplication of three input scores estimated by users, i.e., severity, occurrence, and detect. Even through this approach is simple, one of the problems is the difficulty in obtaining a good estimate of the severity, occurrence and detect ratings. Besides, it is a tedious job to update the ratings from time to time. In this paper, FMEA system with a proposed framework equipped with a fuzzy inference system based occurrence model to predict the occurrence score is proposed, and the fuzzy occurrence model is devised. In here, we propose a property for the fuzzy occurrence model, i.e., monotone output property. We try to derive the condition for the fuzzy occurrence model to be monotone such as that the derivative in non negative. From the derivation, a guideline on how input membership functions should be tuned is also provided. Most of the current approaches and products convert the unnormalized relational views to XML documents using flat-based that causes data redundancy which leads to generate a massive data. This paper proposes an approach to generate nested XML documents with full automatic from flat relational views. The proposed approach includes two steps: the first is extracting the nested view from the flat relational view using a statistically approach for counting and removing the data redundancy. The statistically approach is based on the analysis of functional dependency taking into account the frequency of the data values for the columns of the relational views. The second step is converting the nested view into nested XML. The columns of the nested view are also divided into groups to achieve the nesting for XML document. The proposed approach generates nested XML documents from the unnormalized relational views with full automatic. The generated nested XML document by the proposed approach has good features such as minimal redundancy and less size of storage.","PeriodicalId":274652,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126590911","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The contact-type level-sensing transducers have the disadvantage that their characteristic properties may change due to physical or chemical reaction between the liquid and the probing material, and hence may affect accuracy besides their life time. The non-contact-type level-sensing probes may have longer life period, but they are comparatively costly and require various environmental and experimental precautionary measures when being used. In this paper, a low-cost non-contact capacitance type liquid level measuring technique has been designed and used for liquid identification objectives. The results obtained are very much consistent with the theoretical derivations.","PeriodicalId":274652,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125912107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A demultiplexer is designed for each two and four channels (wavelengths) respectively for coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) application which follows ITU-T G.694.2 standard. Optimized demultiplexer should have high transmission to get high power efficiency and low cross talk to avoid signal degradation. An analytical equation is presented to calculate the length difference (DeltaL) between the two arms of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer to produce different phase shift. Based on the length difference (DeltaL) calculation, Mach-Zehnder interferometer for different wavelengths is designed. Directional coupler is analyzed in such a way that it can split the power equally. Coupled mode theory (CMT) and beam propagation method (BPM) is used as an analytical and numerical method respectively. Performance comparisons in terms of transmission, cross talk and 3 dB bandwidth are implemented for the demultiplexer. Transmission (dB) as high as -0.74 dB and cross talk as low as -21.06 dB have been obtained for four channel demultiplexer at wavelength, lambda = 1470 nm. A 3 dB bandwidth of 14nm has been recorded as well, which satisfies the requirement set by ITU-T G.694.2 which is 20 nm. Qualitative agreement between beam propagation method (BPM) and calculation based on coupled mode theory (CMT) has been achieved for each two and four channels demultiplexer respectively.","PeriodicalId":274652,"journal":{"name":"2008 International Conference on Computer and Communication Engineering","volume":"88 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126102803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
