Countless common people from the Medinipur district rallied together in the final phase of India’s liberation struggle. These patriotic revolutionaries, who embody the spirit of nationalism, are a source of pride for our district, yet sadly, they have been largely forgotten over time. This collective amnesia can be attributed to past historians’ oversights, research gaps, and the tendency to overlook regional histories. The narrative of history writing should not only serve a political agenda but also aspire to shape a more humane trajectory by emphasizing the human aspect beyond mere political facts. This principle holds for regional historiography as well. The inhabitants of Bhagwanpur have a rich legacy of participating in the freedom movement. Through their valiant efforts during the ‘Quit India’ movement, the people of this Bhagwanpur sub-division have made significant sacrifices and endured hardships. Unfortunately, this history has often been overlooked or left unrecorded for generations. The article primarily focuses on the involvement, organization, challenges, and outcomes of the residents of Bhagwanpur during the August movement. Additionally, it delves into the resilience of the local population in the face of natural calamities such as floods, and cyclones, and their unwavering commitment to the nation’s independence movement.","PeriodicalId":273441,"journal":{"name":"Social Science Journal for Advanced Research","volume":" 23","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141677721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Intending to extend the social media healthcare information [SOHI] model, this study incorporates attitudes toward social media [ATTSM] to extend the model. The model was tested using SmartPLS in a quantitative study with 310 participants. The results reveal that performance expectancy of social media (PESM) has a positive and significant influence on ATTSM and satisfaction with social media (SATSM), respectively. The findings show that both ATTSM and SATSM are significantly impacted by social influence on social media (SISM). In addition, ATTSM and SATSM significantly affected the behavioural intention of social media (BISM). Furthermore, the outcome indicated that BISM has a major effect on how people use SOHI. By testing SOHI with the integration of ATTSM, it has been proven that attitude plays a critical role in users’ decisions to use social media for healthcare.","PeriodicalId":273441,"journal":{"name":"Social Science Journal for Advanced Research","volume":"17 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139380750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Identification of farmers’ vulnerability level is important to select appropriate adaptation options to climate change. Thus, this study aimed to examine the vulnerability of communities’ livelihood to climate variability and change based on different agro-ecological zones of the study area using the livelihood vulnerability index–intergovernmental panel on climate change (LVI–IPCC) method. The data was collected from a representative 154 sample households using stratified random sampling techniques. Also, the data was collected from December 2020 to February 2021 by interviewing the selected respondents, which was supplemented with focus group discussion and key informant interviews.
 Results: There was a difference in vulnerability status between the selected agro-ecologies in the district depending on their livelihood strategies, access to infrastructure, characteristics of the household, and available technologies. The analysis yielded that, the overall vulnerability score for communities in highland agroecology was 0.029, midland agroecology was 0.038, and lowland agroecology was 0.114, which indicates that communities in law land agroecology are more vulnerable relative to midland and high land agro-ecologies.
 Conclusion: To enhance climate resilience or climate change adaptation strategies for vulnerable communities, there is a need to improve infrastructure facilities, diversification of livelihood strategies, provide improved seed varieties, and enhance soil and water conservation practices giving priority to more vulnerable communities. Decision-makers should plan adaptation in local contexts based on farmers' socioeconomic characteristics and livelihood strategies rather than adopting at international levels.","PeriodicalId":273441,"journal":{"name":"Social Science Journal for Advanced Research","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135314113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
