Muell in the Industrial Plantation Forest (HTI) progam have applied a clonal forestry system to improve productivity of mean annual increament and homogenous plants on each rotation. However, the productivity ha s been low and not meet the need of raw materials for pulp industry. The objectives of the research is to develope of E . pellita in vitro by multiple node culture to increase shoots growth at each step in vitro propagation . Combination of in vitro and macro propagation in establishing hedge orchard (mini cutting) is the best technique and efficient to propagate and optimize of the growth of the species. The method to increase the successful of E . pellita in vitro at the induction step was using mutiple-node culture and application of rotary shaker. Four treatments were applied at multipication, rooting and acclimatization steps to obtain the best combination of media for E . pellita in the optimum condition. The results showed that application of rotary shaker increased the shoots growth at the induction step and accelerated the shoots growth at the multiplication step.The procedure applied in this study was also resulting an optimal and efficient response of shoots and roots growth in each step (induction, multiplication, rooting) of E . pellita in vitro until acclimatization in the greenhouse.","PeriodicalId":273273,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Perbenihan Tanaman Hutan","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117063941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of quality seedling that can be done through vegetative techniques is one of the issues that determine the success of plantation development. The purpose of this research is to get the best cutting material and a n optimal growth regulator for multiplication of shoot cuttings. The shoot cuttings were obtained from 12-month-old seedlings. The design used was a complete randomized design (CRD) factorial pattern with two factors, namely cuttings positions (shoot, middle and bottom parts ) and concentration of naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) growth regulator of 0, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, and 300 ppm. The result showed that T . Orientalis propagation can be carried out well by using seedling shoot section soaked in NAA 300 ppm for 10 minutes. The treatment was able to have the percentage of rooting cutting of 71.67 percent , number of roots of 6 pieces, root dry weight of 0.088 g, and shoot dry weight of 0.148 g.","PeriodicalId":273273,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Perbenihan Tanaman Hutan","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125917309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Selecting suitable species and exploring its populations to capture as wide variation as possible for successful screening, is required. Leucaena leucochepala , which is the wood has long been used for wood-energy, has been grown widely in Indonesia. Growing for more than 50 generations since its introduction, it should have been very well adapted. This study is to evaluate early performances of its seedlings as genetic materials ready for its breeding. Seeds of ten populations from different regions and habitats have been collected as materials for energy-wood breeding, included var. Tarramba, the best world performer grown in Indonesia. Further, 80 families were selected as genetic materials for progeny test. L . leucochepala produce flowers in 4 6 months, therefore evaluation of early growth at 3 months should be appropriate. Results show high variations among populations and families as well as among habitat promising for breeding success. Some Indonesian populations and families grow promisingly due to performing similarly against var. Tarramba, even some families are better. By using 5 best families of 3 different habitats and compared to var. Tarramba, it shows that plants from Bali, collected from saline area, are as good as var. Tarramba’s, the world best performers.","PeriodicalId":273273,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Perbenihan Tanaman Hutan","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127630916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This species has strong seed dormancy that causing its germination becomes obstacle in seedling procurement. The aim of this research was to determine the response of tisuk seed germination on the several lighting periods, pre-germination treatment, and storage rooms by using 4 tisuk populations (Sumedang, Ciamis, Pemalang and Malang) in Java. Randomized completely design was used to test the optimum lighting periods, pre-germination treatments, and storage rooms for tisuk seeds. The result showed that lighting periods was the only treatment which affected significantly the seedlot from Pemalang. Seed germination testing of tisuk in laboratory was preferred to use lighting period of 8 hours light and 16 hours dark. Tisuk seed is categorized as orthodox with strong dormancy level so the seed germination capacity and speed without pre-germination treatment were very low that is ranged between 5.5 percent ─ 8.3 percent and 0.62 percent - etmal ─ 0.91percent - etmal , respectively. Pre-germination treatment by soaking the seeds in H 2 SO 4 for 30 minutes was able to increase germination capacity and speed for all seedlots from 4 different populations with germination capacity and speed ranges of 62.5 percent ─ 71.3 percent and 7.58 percent - etmal ─ 9.75 percent - etmal , respectively. Tisuk seed of all the populations were deteriorating during storage and seed with the lower moisture content had better storability. The seed germination could be maintained better in Dry Cold Storage than in a refrigerator and ambient room.","PeriodicalId":273273,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Perbenihan Tanaman Hutan","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131863939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
