This can be regarded as a motivator for this work. This research explains the proximate analysis method to determine the composition of coal in terms of moisture, volatiles, fixed carbon, and ash contents. Hence, the proximate analysis was established as a suitable method for defining the delivery of products obtained by heating coal under a standard set of conditions. In addition, Thermo-gravimetric analyzer TGA 4000 is used to measure the composition of various coal samples from 4 different locations mainly in the UK and Japan: (Pyehill, South Wales, Nigata and South Yorkshire). Furthermore, the thermal properties like calorific value were also determined for each sample by the bomb-calorimeter. The main results that were obtained on air-dried basis for the four different samples are as follows: fixed carbon (55.4%, 78.6%, 62.2% and 60.3%) respectively; volatile matters (28.9%, 34.4%, 29.7% and 10.8%) respectively; and ash content (12.4%, 9.7%, 6.1% and 2.8%). On the other hand, the dry basis analysis reported an increase in the percentages of (volatiles, fixed carbon, and ash) contents such as (30.2%, 63.5%, and 6.3%) respectively. Finally, finding the composition of the coal has countless value to forecast the products and amount of liberated heat that will be produced during the combustion process, as well as establishing a base for the price of coal. Based on the performed measurements, the ranks of the coal samples (Pyehill, south Wales, Nigata and South Yorkshire) were found, on dry basis. These ranks were as follows: (Sub-bituminous, Low volatile bituminous, High volatile B, bituminous and High volatile C, bituminous) respectively.","PeriodicalId":273236,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Engineering Conference “Sustainable Technology and Development\" (IEC)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126828374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Remote Sensing and space borne measurement systems are in use to observe, detect, and monitor hydrologic parameters such as precipitation, evapotranspiration, soil moisture, and vegetation, etc. However, the satellite-based measurements are prone to errors due to a number of factors related to the atmosphere, environment, sensor sensitivity, and the instrument itself. Remote Sensing data need proper analysis, calibration, and validation before its implementation to real life problems. Amongst other hydrologic measurements, rainfall is also measured by satellites. The Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission [TRMM] was one of the main satellites deployed for precipitation measurements. Like other Remote Sensing measurements, rainfall measurements are also affected by a variety of factors, which necessitate verifying its validity with some reference measurements. In this study, the TRMM measurements are compared with the ground-based measurements, for six gauging stations in Iraqi Kurdistan Region for years between 2000 and 2016, by using various methods. These include arithmetic differences, Pearson's correlation coefficient R, relative bias and root mean square error [RMSE]. It is found that a strong to medium correlation exist between the point measurements and the corresponding satellite pixel measurements.","PeriodicalId":273236,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Engineering Conference “Sustainable Technology and Development\" (IEC)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121900615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the fuzzy logic (FL) is used to select and optimize the values for the main parameter of the distiller. Four affected parameters are selected for the FL input water temperature (Tw), water pressure (Pw), glass temperature (Tg) and gas pressure (Pg). These parameters have a separated membership function (MF) that control the linguistic variables. Three MF for each input variables, which have a linguistic expression such as (Low, Mid. and High). The target of the work is the water productivity $dot{mathrm{m}}$; so the system rules we constructed with 81 different if-statement, which are computed through the input and MF numbers, conditions to control the operation. The research aims to achieve the possibility of using simple solar distillation. The affected operational variables on the distillation performance are including the temperature of the glass, water, and pressure inside the distillation using the foggy logic technique, which is considered a critical point for interrupting operational variables. The water level inside the distillation (Pw & Pg) and Temperature (Tw & Tg) were changed. The results showed that the best performance of the distiller is at $mathrm{Tw}=60^{circ}mathrm{C}, mathrm{Pg}=9000mathrm{Pa}, mathrm{Tg}=30^{circ}mathrm{C}$ and $mathrm{Pw}=10000mathrm{Pa}$.","PeriodicalId":273236,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Engineering Conference “Sustainable Technology and Development\" (IEC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129673074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the major challenges is the network lifetime and QoS due to limited resources, hence in this paper, an architecture with a single sink node is developed in order to improve the energy management and QoS of the (WBAN). Furthermore, as part of the effort to further improve the network lifetime and QoS, an algorithm which classifies the sensed data into normal, high-normal and critical is developed using MAC protocol. Also, another algorithm called Weighted Energy and QoS (WEQ) algorithm is developed to select the optimal path to transmit the normal and high normal data. In the WEQ, the weight value is computed by considering metrics such as delay, residual energy, link stability, and distance. The route with the highest weight value is selected and the data is transmitted on that route. Extensive simulation is performed on OMNe++ to demonstrate that our work significantly outperforms that of similar works in terms of network lifetime and throughput.","PeriodicalId":273236,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Engineering Conference “Sustainable Technology and Development\" (IEC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121639095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This approach based on using the Discrete Fourier transform (DFT) as a main processor in the evaluation process. The mean value of the DFT coefficients of the ciphered outputs is considered as an evaluation parameter for evaluating the security of the considered cipher system. This approach was tested on symmetric and asymmetric cryptosystems. For symmetric one, we choose a stream cipher system to be tested by this method. While for a symmetric one we chose the RSA (public key cryptosystem). These different choices gave a wide spread use for this proposed method in comparison with other evaluation methods. The results were encouraging, and can be considered as a suitable approach to enhance the security evaluation tasks. That is really considered as a hard problem facing the cryptosystem design.","PeriodicalId":273236,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Engineering Conference “Sustainable Technology and Development\" (IEC)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132310500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

MI strives for revealing inner structures concealed by the existence of bones and skin to identify diseases in order to be treated properly. MI can be achieved through the use of various imaging systems, where each has different technology necessities. The output of these imaging systems is digital images that have meaningful medical information. Such images, however, do not own a high perceived quality due to the existence of image degradations. Despite modern technology advancement, various medical systems are still producing images with poor contrast owing to incorrect settings and device limitations. Such images must be processed efficiently to become clearer for better analysis, understanding and interpretation. In this study, a simple algorithm is developed, where it utilizes a combination of image processing concepts and statistical methods. The developed algorithm is appraised with a dataset of real-degraded low-contrast images only, assessed with one specialized no-reference metric and compared with four known contrast enhancement methods. From the conducted experiments, the proposed algorithm showed promising performances, since it produced acceptable-quality results rapidly and outperformed the comparison methods in different important aspects.","PeriodicalId":273236,"journal":{"name":"2020 6th International Engineering Conference “Sustainable Technology and Development\" (IEC)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133500599","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cooperative and non-cooperative games have been suggested with a view to minimize mutual interference within each node, under receiver Signal-to-Interference and Noise Ratio (SINR) constraint. The optimum transmit beamformers can be chosen through a predefined codebook in order to decrease the entire power, by using a cooperative fashion (Potential game), for cluster-based -Network topology. Thus, Bit Error Rate (BER) and power can be minimized and convergence rate can be increased (the steady-state spot i.e. Nash Equilibrium) of beamformer games to enhance the whole system performance (i.e. Data Rate), can be guaranteed throughout the iterations, taking into account the receiver nodes minimum requirement QoS (SINR threshold) in intelligent system computational design.
