The purpose of power window control system is to raise and lower door glass with the help of a switch and its operation is controlled by the use of following sensors LPG sensor, LDR sensor and position sensor to replace the use of hand-turned crank handle. Power window system consists of driver motor, power electronic and control system. The control unit senses both hard and soft obstructions and deactivates a motor that moves the glass when any obstruction is detected. The controller also senses obstructions on start-up of the motor and regulates the speed of the window panel by pulse width modulating motor signals. In other way the controller senses obstructions by maintaining data which is related to motor operation in three different memory buffers that are regularly updated upon receipt of pulses that are related to motor speed. The whole system can be designed as an intelligent control system by applying number of conditions which results to the movement of the power window. It increases the safety of the automobile as well as increases human comfort inside the vehicle. Such applications are fire safety in the vehicle, over temperature detection, sensing of LPG leakage. Hardware implementation includes some basic input switches, sensors connected to the microcontroller and the LEDs and LCD are used to show the status of output. Input sensors used for this research are LPG sensor, LDR sensor and position sensor, output is the functioning of the motor. The implementation work is carried out using AVR ATMEGA 16 microcontroller.","PeriodicalId":272955,"journal":{"name":"2013 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SIGNAL PROCESSING AND COMMUNICATION (ICSC)","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122672030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, its performance degrades in case of binary phase coded signals. The recently reported hybrid MF and radial function (MF-RF) model performs well only for the single target case. Thus there is a need to develop a model which would perform efficiently both for single and multi-targets conditions for binary phase coded signals. To achieve this objective a hybrid model (APC-RF) combining the APC and radial function is developed. The performance of the new scheme has been evaluated under different noise and Doppler shift conditions. The results of the simulation study demonstrate superior performance of the proposed APC-RF model over several pulse compression techniques such as MF, APC and MF-RF.","PeriodicalId":272955,"journal":{"name":"2013 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SIGNAL PROCESSING AND COMMUNICATION (ICSC)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116943861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Further, the effect of variation of electrode thickness on drain current and electrical parameters has been investigated. Electrode thickness is varied from 0 nm to 40 nm in the steps of 10 nm for staggered and planar structures while other structural dimensions and properties are same for both the structures. The performance parameters of OTFTs are estimated at different values of electrode thickness by way of two-dimensional drift-diffusion simulations. Observed results indicate that planar structures are more affected by variation in electrode thickness. The mobility and current on-off ratio of planar structure are found to be lower than that of staggered structure. This analysis simplifies number of issues related to design and fabrication of organic devices and circuits.","PeriodicalId":272955,"journal":{"name":"2013 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SIGNAL PROCESSING AND COMMUNICATION (ICSC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115840376","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A novel approach of wavelet analysis using different filter coefficients and the performance analysis of each filter coefficients along with classifiers is introduced. The technique is successfully used to classify 5 vowels, month name, weekdays and is not sensitive to the variation in speed and the speaking style of the different subjects and is used as recognition variables to recognize the unspoken words. This is an efficient technique that measures the relative muscle activity of the articulatory facial muscles and it is shown that former systems go through austere performance degradation when new words are acquainted. Using wavelet, word error rate and classification rate achieve a noteworthy success. This paper presents wavelet analysis of surface electromyogram (SEMG) of four facial muscles to decompose the signal and identify the words and classifying these words by three wavelets. Using three filter coefficients of Daubechies, Coiflets and Symlets, the unspoken word has been recognized. This represents the proportional muscle activity of the four muscles. These are classified using k-nearest neighbor, probabilistic neural network and support vector machine to identify the speech. It is urged that such applied science may be used for the user to give simple voiceless commands when conditioned for the specific user.","PeriodicalId":272955,"journal":{"name":"2013 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SIGNAL PROCESSING AND COMMUNICATION (ICSC)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117230177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The various non-coherent IR-UWB schemes discussed are TR, RTR, ATR, RATR, DTR and ED receivers. The simulation results clearly show that under the same conditions, ED receiver outperforms TR receiver and is similar to DTR and RATR in performance, despite its low power consumption, in AWGN and IEEE 802.15.4a UWB CM1 and CM2 environment for number of frames, Nf = 1. As Nf increases to 2, DTR and RATR receiver reveals its superiority over the other non-coherent IR-UWB schemes. The reversible watermarking algorithms proposed till date have been proposed for digital images. In this paper we propose a reversible watermarking scheme for audio signals. In general, reversible watermarking algorithms are computationally more expensive compared to their non-reversible counterparts. To reduce the run time latency of the proposed reversible audio watermarking scheme, a redundant watermark embedding technique is used which embeds the watermark without overflow checking of the watermarked audio sample values, but can reversibly retrieve the watermark utilizing the redundancy. The proposed technique also avoids the use of a location map for overflow checking, thus avoiding the need for multi pass, computation intensive data processing.","PeriodicalId":272955,"journal":{"name":"2013 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SIGNAL PROCESSING AND COMMUNICATION (ICSC)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125261066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A snake is an energy minimizing curve that, starting from an initial contour, deforms iteratively thereby gradually moving towards the desired object boundary. Finally, it shrinks and wraps around the object. Therefore, the problem at hand is to find the contour that minimizes the snake energy. While energy minimization may be accomplished using traditional optimization methods, approaches based on nature-inspired evolutionary algorithms have been developed in recent years. One such evolutionary algorithm that has been used extensively in active contours is the particle swarm optimization (PSO). However, conventional PSO converges slowly and gets trapped in local minimum easily. The problem of local minimum results in inaccurate detection of concavities in the object boundary. This is taken care of by using multi-swarm PSO in which a swarm is set for every control point in the snake and then all the swarms search for their best points simultaneously and collaboratively through information sharing among them. The performance of the search process is further enhanced by using dynamic adaptation of the inertia factor. Inertia factor is used to balance the global and local search ability. In this paper, we propose to use a set of fuzzy rules to adjust the inertia weight on the basis of the current normalized snake energy and the current value of inertia. This improves the search for object concavities. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method compared to conventional approaches.","PeriodicalId":272955,"journal":{"name":"2013 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SIGNAL PROCESSING AND COMMUNICATION (ICSC)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131496234","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Accurate estimation of the IFF of speech signals can be used for speaker recognition system, gender identification and emotion recognition. Various methods for estimation of the IFF of speech signals have been proposed in the literature. In this paper, we propose a new method to estimate IFF of speech signals using the discrete energy separation algorithm (DESA) in the low-frequency region. The Fourier-Bessel (FB) series expansion has been used to filter out the low-frequency region from the speech signal. The reconstructed band-limited signal from the FB coefficients is modeled by using the amplitude and frequency modulated (AM-FM) signal model. Amplitude envelope of the reconstructed band-limited signal is estimated using the DESA. The estimation of amplitude envelope function has been used for detection of glottal closure instants (GCIs). Inverse of time elapsed between two consecutive GCIs provides IFF of speech signals. Simulation results of proposed method have been compared with the IFF computed from reference differenced electroglottograph (EGG) signal. The CMU-Arctic database has been used in this work for validation of the proposed method for IFF determination. It has been observed that the proposed method provides accurate estimation of IFF of speech signals at most of time instants.","PeriodicalId":272955,"journal":{"name":"2013 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SIGNAL PROCESSING AND COMMUNICATION (ICSC)","volume":"171 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132816492","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
