The results show that the proposed scheme can improve the damping for those cases where conventional controllers are not enough.","PeriodicalId":272652,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 39th Central America and Panama Convention (CONCAPAN XXXIX)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123051609","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, this growing situation means that production processes are more saturated, generating higher losses in time that impact on non-compliance with demand, and since plastic production plants sell machine time, this situation affects the profitability of the same In order to mitigate these situations, various efforts have been made to come up with philosophies and methodologies that allow finding the solution to these problems, due to the great importance for companies to work with the highest efficiency in their processes and thus seek to increase their productive availability to increase sales volume In this regard, the implementation of the Lean Manufacturing methodology applied under the support of the Deming cycle whose main objective will be to develop a strategy based on the PHVA cycle that will increase machine efficiency in a sustained manner is approached. Its contribution is developed around the successful application of the combination of the Lean tools selected under the Deming scheme and developed under a Gantt timetable for the solution of the case and that are developed in this article, being able to serve as an initial guide to other technicians who They seek to increase the productivity of their processes in other factories in the sector.","PeriodicalId":272652,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 39th Central America and Panama Convention (CONCAPAN XXXIX)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127510942","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, an analysis of the wind resource of the site is presented, the monthly wind profile, wind rose and the wind distribution are presented. After the turbulence class and wind class according to the IEC 61400 standard is determined, then it is chosen a wind turbine suitable for the site. The annual energy production (PAE) is determined, after a comparison of the PAE is made before and after the repowering. Then the PAE is estimated including losses for the new wind farms. Also, the design of the electrical infrastructure is performed, the selection of cables and transformers is made, then the energy losses by the cables are calculated. Finally, an economic viability study of the wind farm is presented, revealing as a result that the project yields satisfactory profitability. In addition, the return on investment occurs in less than six and a half years.","PeriodicalId":272652,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 39th Central America and Panama Convention (CONCAPAN XXXIX)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123670340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper describes the development of an intelligent system for a hen egg incubator. This incubation system, based on Arduino, LabVIEW, Google Firebase and MIT App Inventor can control temperature, humidity and egg rotation automatically. In addition, the system can help farmers to monitor the intelligent incubator remotely. Successful hatched hen eggs are typically around 87.55%, 0.41 % hatched defectively, 1.84% hatched but die at birth, and 10.20 % not hatched, so an intelligent temperature and humidity control system can improve the successful hatching rate. The objective of this system is not to offer it for sale, but to make it available for researchers and farmers so that they can replicate it and carry out experiments. In order to do this, the system was kept as simple as possible.","PeriodicalId":272652,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 39th Central America and Panama Convention (CONCAPAN XXXIX)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124741514","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The CM paradigm enables more efficient resource utilization in the context of industry 4.0 through fully automated order processing. Existing architecture solutions, however, follow a central platform approach with a global neutral data model. As a consequence, the individuality of companies within the CM is not given any room for expression and symbioses between companies are not established. The result is a disadvantage particularly for SMEs, which generate their competitive advantage from innovative production technologies and symbiotic connections with customers and other SMEs. The focus of Collective Cloud Manufacturing (CCM) is the preservation of these characteristics, in which an over-approximation of costs through the integration of production-related simulations is to be reduced and the data security of the customer is to be enhanced. So in this work, a data model for an existing concept for CCM is presented. The requirements for the data model and the runtime behavior are defined. Subsequently, the state of the art of existing models in the domain of CM is presented. The developed data model is presented with an application evaluation.","PeriodicalId":272652,"journal":{"name":"2019 IEEE 39th Central America and Panama Convention (CONCAPAN XXXIX)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125909891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Cuenca city municipality in Ecuador is implementing the “Cuatro Ríos” project approached the public transport that is a very ambitious and important mobility project aimed to have less carbon dioxide emissions. Moreover, it is an alternative and efficient choice. This article presents the mathematical model of the “Cuatro Ríos” transport system using Matlab-Simulink® software. This mathematical model examines technical characteristics of the DCvoltage filter and the actuating system so that it can identify which are the electric network impacts.
