A failure of this transform is that it is applicable to a narrow class of functions not containing, in particular, a complete solution to the problem of diffraction. To overcome this problem a modified Kontorovich-Lebedev transform has previously been obtained in which the two-dimensional equation is reduced to an ordinary differential equation. The authors obtain a generalized radiation condition to give sense to this equation for the problem of plane wave diffraction by a wedge.","PeriodicalId":270641,"journal":{"name":"MMET '96. The theory is based on one of the versions of the Galerkin's method in which the weighted Gegenbauer polynomials are used as the basis functions explicitly taking into account the edge condition. Another important feature of the presented theory is the separation and analytical transform of the matrix operator static part of the obtained linear algebraic equations set. The results are in good agreement with theoretical and experimental data of other work.","PeriodicalId":270641,"journal":{"name":"MMET '96. In our treatment we take an impedance plane in the H-polarization mode as the simplest (single-mode) open waveguide. We follow at first the ideas presented by Yarovoy (1995) for the scattering from a dielectric cylinder immersed in a dielectric slab waveguide. However, the procedure of reducing the integral equations to a matrix equation differs from Yarovoy's point-matching method. Taking into account the scatterer's shape, we use the expansions in terms of entire-domain basis functions such as angular exponents.","PeriodicalId":270641,"journal":{"name":"MMET '96. While modeling key blocks by the momentum method at essentially different dimensions of the channels, one can increase the calculation accuracy by means of decomposition of the element into two virtual ones. This idea is realized here by accounting for the character of the momentum method solutions more completely. The author considers the well-known effect of resonant matching by the example of the resonator formed of a section of plane parallel waveguide bounded by two thin inductive diaphragms with very small coupling slot.","PeriodicalId":270641,"journal":{"name":"MMET '96. Such interest is stipulated by the fact that space is a source of very different electromagnetic processes. Among wave phenomena the special place take geomagnetic pulsations-the most low frequency (0.001-5 Hz) electromagnetic wave fields of a natural origin. The signals of pulsations are just such an object, to which can to the full be applied both concepts of nonlinear dynamics, and model and methods of revealing the hidden periodicity. The ample opportunities of such signal analysis will be realized at transition to non-stationary probabilistic model of hidden periodicity in kind of almost periodically correlated random processes (almost PCRP) The signals of geomagnetic pulsations PC-I hydromagnetic emissions (HME) of magnetospheric plasma are analysed.","PeriodicalId":270641,"journal":{"name":"MMET '96.
