In the filtering antenna module, the radiator serves simultaneously as the last resonator of the filter which was realized by coupled stripline open-loop resonators. A proof-of-concept design is presented with both its S11 <; -14 dB and axial ratio <; 3 dB bandwidths covering 12.5%, ranging from 3.75 to 4.25 GHz. A prototype was fabricated and characterized, showing strong agreement between simulated and measured results. The gain response exhibits a profile similar to the transmission of a bandpass filter. The mixed coupling is realized by etching a coplanar waveguide(CPW) at the magnetic coupled neighborhood section of two cascaded QMSIW resonators, which introduces two transmission zeros at the lower and higher rejection band. The filter enjoys merits of good selectivity, miniaturized size and wide stop band. In order to verify the design concept, a bandpass filter with center frequency of 8.625GHz is fabricated and measured. The array consists of two new designed UWB antennas and two half-wave E-dipole, placed symmetrically around a 3D head model with equally distances to the origin. The head model is Cole-Cole parameter based and made by six dispersive spherical layers, representing different tissues of the head. An approach to determine the locations of E-dipole are also given. Our achieved simulation shows that the array is validated in 0.75-1.2 GHz with enhanced detecting sensitivity from several testing cases involving different stroke sizes and locations. Taking advantage of the approximate evaluation of the vector and scalar potential terms and the Taylor series expansion of far field, the computational complexity and memory requirement of the proposed algorithm can be reduced considerably. The TMIC employs GaAs Schottky diodes to realize direct up and down-conversion between broadband IF and terahertz band. A 340 GHz subharmonic balanced modulator using waveguide structure was designed, simulation shows that the transition loss in LO port is less than 0.4 dB, RF port is less than 0.3 dB, and the conversion loss is less than 14 dB. For different forms of digital modulation methods, we carried out the terahertz communication system link budget and comparative analysis based on the TMIC modulator. It operates at 900MHz and 2.4GHz (GSM and ISM bands) on a wide and low input power condition. A FET works as an adaptive switch for changing the working modes of the rectifier according to the level of the input power. A cross-shaped match stub matches the two impedances of the diode to 50fl. A shunted capacitor works as a dc-pass filter to smooth the output DC power. The simulated maximum conversion efficiencies at two operation frequencies are 63.5% and 56.9%, respectively. In this case, the multilayer stacked technique has the advantages of reducing the circuit size and easy to fabricate by Print Circuit Board (PCB) process. In this paper, a complex microstrip feeding network, including a divider, a combiner and a monitoring structure, is employed to excite a 4×4 array, which has the potential to construct a tile phased array combined with T/R integrated circuits. A novel multilayer weak unequal divider is developed to realize the T/R module detection while keeping a compact configuration. Finally, an X-band multilayer passive network integrated with antennas is designed and full-wave simulated by HFSS. The proposed MIMO antenna element consists of a T-shape slot and a inverted U-shape microstrip feed line. The T-shape shot includes both open-ended and short-ended slots. Open-ended and short-ended slots are exploited to obtain two resonant modes, whose center frequencies can be adjusted by the slot lengths. The T-shape slot on the top layer is fed by a pair of differential microstrip lines by proximity coupling. Simulated results show that the -10 dB impedance bandwidth of the MIMO antenna covers the 2.4/5.2/5.8 bands for WLAN applications. The measured isolation is better than 15dB for differential-mode(DM) signs in all bands. By varying the bias voltage of the varactors, the length of the slot is tuned equivalently, thus both the lower resonant frequency and the higher resonant frequency can be tuned simultaneously with a constant frequency of f2/f1. The first resonant frequency can be tuned from 1.36 GHz to 1.52 GHz while the second resonant frequency can be tuned from 2.12 GHz to 2.63 GHz, as shown by measured results. The achievable frequency ratio approximately remains unchanged within range of 1.56 to 1.73 over the whole tunable range. Compared with the higher band tuning range, the lower band frequency can be considered as constant over the whole bias tuning range.
