A vision-based hand gesture recognition approach can provide a significant solution to various machine vision-based applications by providing an easy interaction channel. For most of the automated machine control applications an efficient real time communication approach is required. In this paper a hand gesture-based approach is presented for providing a real time robotic control. The approach was tested on different gestures used to control the movements and the result shows that the proposed approach can be efficiently used in real time applications where immediate response of the system is more important.","PeriodicalId":269682,"journal":{"name":"2018 Second International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115525655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we come up with the conceptualization of network coding scheme based transmission over a pre-defined minimum Wiener index spanning tree (MWST) based multi-hop routing access in a multiple sink scenario for energy constraint wireless sensor network. For effective data transmission between sensor nodes to sink node, we have proposed XOR based network coding i.e. COPE. Contrary to the previous methods in literature, we here deployed random sensor nodes over a pre-defined area. Each sensor node is connected with one and only one sink node depending on its Euclidian distance and number of hops between them and the same is implemented by nature inspired Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique. Finally, the data transmission is enriched with the network coding approach for significant decrease in energy consumption and enhancement in network throughput gain.","PeriodicalId":269682,"journal":{"name":"2018 Second International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114541357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But there is no efficient system to rescue accident victims. There is a necessity for a better system for summoning the ambulance services. Hence this paper suggests an able system for the summoning of the ambulance. The summoning of an ambulance during an emergency or accident is attained by the arrangement of the following components microcontroller, a GPS module, a gsm module and a crash sensor. This whole setup is installed as a black box inside the vehicle so as to instill reliability of appliance inside the vehicle. The ambulance is summoned to the accident location once the accident happens and this location is sent to emergency contacts (friends and relatives). This helps in reducing reaction and treatment time and increases the chance of survival of the victim.","PeriodicalId":269682,"journal":{"name":"2018 Second International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129652134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development of the CAN bus protocol resulted in the reduction of wiring harness which was one of the main concerns of the analogue interface. The fault tolerance and error handling capability of CAN is used in suspension systems, ABS, air conditioning, airbags, central locking systems and gear control systems with high transmission speed. Our focus is to develop a custom CAN board that can be used for automotive applications. The CAN board built by us provides a hardware interface that is simple and has a highly abstracted communication protocol. This is due to the fact that the board has all the CAN related functions and abstraction integrated into it. This board eases the development of CAN bus based embedded system applications. It can also kindle the development of an industry that is completely built based on automotive applications","PeriodicalId":269682,"journal":{"name":"2018 Second International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115128068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is due to the fact that the rate of technological progress is increasing at a very fast rate. This is very beautifully captured by Moore’s law. Technologies are becoming outdated as quickly as within 6 months of their roll out. As a result, rate of obsolescence is also increasing rapidly. This is now a major problem in several industries primarily because of the large investment required to setup any system. Thus the question arises whether to change with the times or not. In this paper, we will be listing down the benefits of migrating from a standalone type of environment i.e. where multiple applications are being run on multiple stand alone desktop systems to a server client model i.e. where there will be a single server where all applications will run and users will have access to the same through thin clients.","PeriodicalId":269682,"journal":{"name":"2018 Second International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115170973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We scrutinized implementation of TORA and found the problem early termination of nodes due to limitation of battery power. The most significant point was that no energy efficient route is applied to TORA for proper utilization of energy in mobile Ad-hoc network. We implemented a simple approach known as IPS (Intelligent Power Saver) in TORA in order to reduce consumption of energy so that lifetime of MANET can be enhanced. As a result IPS mechanism works on the strategy of load balancing and bears the minimum level of energy to maintain the connectivity of the network for a long duration of time span.","PeriodicalId":269682,"journal":{"name":"2018 Second International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128530294","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
