The objective is to develop a reliable strategic noise map to quantify the sound levels produced by the road and to compare them with the regulatory limits. To do this, we make use of the method NMPB- noise prediction to estimate the nuisances emitted by such traffic. The results show that the residents are exposed to significant noise power levels and a confinement caused by building amplifies it. These high noise levels can threat the quality of the environment and to impact the health of citizens.","PeriodicalId":269509,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116190219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each supplier aims to maximize its product sales by offering attractive quantity discounts; and conversely, the retailers aim to minimize their supply costs through coalition's formation in order to benefit from these discounts. To tackle this ordering problem, we propose a game theory-based model and a solution approach that leads to an equilibrium state in the cooperation process by forming coalitions. The exact method proposed to solve the problem provides stable coalitions of retailers helping them minimizing their supply costs. An illustrative example and preliminary experiments are provided to show the applicability and usefulness of the approach.","PeriodicalId":269509,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125793771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The global logistics tends to reduce pollution and energy consumption in the purpose of saving natural resources for future generations and optimize different kinds of activities to achieve this goal. In this paper we analyse the energy market in Poland with the aim to present the energy indicators and their evolution during years, what allows for generalized interference within the scope of green logistics. According to the conclusions from forecasting and analytic works presented in the document \"Polityka energetyczna Polski do 2030 r.\" [The energy policy in Poland until 2030], it is assumed that the national consumption of electric energy will increase by 80-93 %. Thus, it is assumed that the society's dependence on the electric energy will increase and this emphasizes the significance of electrical power engineering in the energy infrastructure of the country. The article constitutes an attempt to assess selected elements characterising the Polish energy market. For that purpose, selected quantitative methods which assess the dynamics and correlation were used, and dynamic econometric models were constructed which described these elements both in cause and effect and autoregressive terms. On the basis of the constructed models, forecasts for next years were prepared, assessing at the same time the errors in these forecasts. The information received as a result of the applied methods may constitute a basis for assessing the situation in the energy market in Poland and at the same time for assessing whether the signals transmitted by the environment were properly analyzed by the entities pursuing the objects of the energy policy.","PeriodicalId":269509,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122008416","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is possible adding the constraints related to the reduction of gases emissions. In particular, traffic control uses strategy to reduce bottlenecks, travel time and coasts. Although it is usually assumed that an improved traffic flow will result in lower vehicle emissions, little scientific research has been spent on the effects of traffic control on emissions. Moreover, because changes in traffic flow do not necessarily influence travel times, noise and air quality in the same way, there is a clear need for a combined approach. This paper reports on a computational study in which a macroscopic traffic simulation model is combined with model of CO2 emission model. Through the simulation the model is used to investigate the influence of traffic intensity, and parameters on the gases emission. It was found that the introduction of a traffic control, lower the emissions depending on traffic flow and velocity constraints.","PeriodicalId":269509,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114939192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This case is one of an adaptive base-stock policy for a single-item inventory system, where the demand process is no-stationary. The demand process is modeled as an integrated moving average process for which an exponential-weighted moving average provides the optimal forecast. The case study objective is about how characterize the required inventory and how identify the safety stock requirements. For this purpose, a system dynamics approach is developed through a flow diagram model and simulated using Vensim® software. The results of the comparative study show that system dynamics approach is very useful. The system dynamics models can provide increased comprehension of, and improved insight into, the performance of an inventory system. The extension of system dynamics seems very interesting for the analysis of complex supply chain problems. In fact, analytical methods are perceived to be unhelpful by management or may require oversimplification.","PeriodicalId":269509,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116475382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The physical flow, considered here, is a group of containers. To optimize these flows, we have developed a mathematical model proposing an allocation of incoming vessels on the waterfront in a way to minimize the total distance traveled by containers loaded / unloaded in the port area. This model was solved by using a genetic algorithm. Calculation results are presented and compared with those obtained by a commercial solver (CPLEX).","PeriodicalId":269509,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134514666","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To conduct this research, the researcher should cover a variety of technological fields that cooperate together to establish an AmI service. In this work we propose a Framework assessment services in the field of ambient mobility. First of all, we introduce a systematic literature review in order to evaluate ambient intelligence services by presenting a full research related to ubiquitous and ambient intelligence evaluation. In our research we focus to extract metric and methodology then we enumerate the sub-criteria following the sustainability definition. Next, we define the sub-criteria for the assessment of sustainability while justifying the choice of these criteria is always based on previous systematic review methodology. Finally, we summarize a method for evaluating uncertain approaching based on human reasoning; fuzzy logic.","PeriodicalId":269509,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130237457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lateral transshipment is considered as an option at each reorder decision under the periodic review standard (R, s, S) replenishment policy. The purpose of this paper is twofold. Firstly, a metamodel-based simulation optimization approach is applied to find the optimal values of s and S, for each retailer. Secondly, a series of simulation experiments are performed to find the best transshipment policy, in terms of smallest total cost and disservice rate. The tested policies are no pooling, complete pooling and various partial pooling policies according to what the threshold levels of physical stock are selected. An important finding is that each tested transshipment policy is considerably superior to a policy of no such transshipments, although at the expense of increased transportation activity. The best transshipment policy is such partial pooling with exactly s as the well-chosen value of the threshold level. Partial pooling is very interesting transshipment policy and should be further addressed in future research.","PeriodicalId":269509,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134046290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This example is rich in lessons that can be used by other countries, including the Maghreb. Road safety is first of all a national concern. This means it is a top-down process. In 1972, a road safety public policy has been decided leading to a significant reduction in the number of victims. Policy today is mainly focused on the control of driver behavior, explaining the transfer of the jurisdiction on this policy, from Department in charge of Transportation to the Department of the Interior. The local institutional levels have now an ever more important role in prevention strategies due to the decentralization and transfer of national road networks to local communities. In the countryside the safety issue remains very high but the capacity for action remains low because of road network length and the increase in traffic generated by suburbanization. In urban areas, the organizational safety — as it unfolds for work safety — is too often overlooked when it comes to preventing road accidents. In particular, the design of a real strategy focused locally on the steering action by safety, is not developed in France. It is as if the slogan of sustainability pays no attention to road safety.","PeriodicalId":269509,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Advanced Logistics and Transport","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133636669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
