In this study, we have visualized the Facebook user characteristics used in classification procedure. We applied K-means clustering algorithm to determine the groups of users with the same learning styles and capabilities. The aforementioned algorithm groups them by taking as input, to initialize the process, several fundamental user characteristics. Our study exploits the fact that tutoring systems have a large number of users and we use a machine learning reasoning mechanism, which is based on recognized similarities between them. The overall goal of this data mining process is to extract information from the user data set and transform it into an understandable structure for further use. Future plans include deeper study on the relationship between the different Facebook characteristics and clarifying which characteristic has the strongest effect on the clustering procedure.","PeriodicalId":268943,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Computer, Information and Telecommunication Systems (CITS)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114920280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose a recommendation system using Learning automata (LA) and sentiment analysis. LA is used to optimize the recommendation score produced by the proposed system using sentiment analysis. The proposed Learning Automata-Based Sentiment Analysis System (LASA) recommends the places nearby the current location of the users by analyzing the feedback from the places and thus calculating the score based on it. Experiments performed by us indicate that by using LA, we can improve the performance of the proposed system, and, thus, help a user to find a specific location according to the need.","PeriodicalId":268943,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Computer, Information and Telecommunication Systems (CITS)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129245000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Machine Type communications (MTC) will play a critical role in this evolution and thus both architectural and algorithmic enhancements to existing converged mobile and fixed network infrastructures are needed. In this paper, we focus on resource management issues for combined Human-to-Human (H2H) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) traffic. The proposed Context-Aware Backhaul Management (CABM) scheme is applicable for M2M gateways, which can provide the interconnection between cellular and capillary networks both via wired and wireless backhaul alternatives. CABM scheme adopts efficient QoS provisioning procedures, by taking into consideration the diverse QoS requirements of novel MTC services. Simulation results show that the proposed MTC Request Admission Control (MTCR-AC) algorithm is resilient regarding QoS-related metrics in overload-state situations, while its inherent prediction-based decision-making procedures can offer significant performance gains, too.","PeriodicalId":268943,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Computer, Information and Telecommunication Systems (CITS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115990792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this method, the tracking task is switched between static clusters as the backbone of the network and dynamic clusters, which form in boundary regions. Our proposed merging mechanism reduces energy dissipation where intersecting dynamic clusters appear. In this paper, we propose an incentive-based mechanism for dynamic cluster dismissal which gently applies to zigzag movement models of targets by considering the ingress and egress traffic of targets. Applying the new incentive-based method, we observed a 22% reduction of power consumption in HCMTT. Satisfying results are also obtained for tracking quality of our method compared to a prediction-based method, DPT.","PeriodicalId":268943,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Computer, Information and Telecommunication Systems (CITS)","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115688238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A preprocessor design based on phase feedback information enables the proposed scheme to achieve full diversity order as well as a coding advantage. Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) analysis is performed and it is used to find the optimal (non-quantized) phases in the sense of maximizing the instantaneous SNR. A quantized feedback analysis of the proposed scheme for quasi-static flat Rayleigh fading channels is also considered. Monte Carlo simulations are performed for different closed-loop space-time block codes with four transmit antennas and unitary transmission rate. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed scheme achieves full diversity order and outperforms other good schemes in terms of coding gain and decoding delay.","PeriodicalId":268943,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Computer, Information and Telecommunication Systems (CITS)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115626805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to address some of these challenges, an IEEE 802.21 Media Independent Handover framework is standardized. The main objective of this standard is to provide a general interface for the handover by abstracting the link layer intelligence to higher layers. However, there still exist a number of limitations in MIH architecture. In this paper a new architecture of improved media independent handover is presented to perform vertical handover between wireless heterogeneous networks. An example of interworking architecture between WLAN and LTE Advanced Network is discussed using the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":268943,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Computer, Information and Telecommunication Systems (CITS)","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132931918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, several experiments of authorship attribution are conducted on these Arabic texts, by using different features such as characters, character-bigrams, character-trigrams and character-tetragrams. Furthermore, four different classifiers are employed, namely: Stamatatos distance, Manhattan distance, Multi Layer Perceptron (MLP) and Support Vector Machines (SVM). For the evaluation task, several experiments of authorship attribution, using those features and classifiers, are conducted on the Arabic dataset (called AAAT), which contains 3 short texts from every book. Results show good authorship attribution performances with an optimal score of 90% of good attribution. Moreover, this investigation has revealed interesting results concerning the Arabic language.","PeriodicalId":268943,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Conference on Computer, Information and Telecommunication Systems (CITS)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128361479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
