The article delves deeper into the matter by scrutinizing the dual challenge of managing the given crises while facing disciplinary measures from the EU. The study uses the system approach to explain and predict the interactions between the affected nation states and the EU institutions in times of turbulent crises. The article’s affirmations are inspired by the system approach and are substantiated by comparative findings of empirical studies. The article finds that disciplinary interventions are likely to increase autopoietic tendencies in the targeted member states.
