Beginning with San Ya's pilot in December 2015, our country has spread out a series of works about “Urban dual maintenance” by President Xi with “ecological restoration and urban renovation” as the core. After that in February 2018, “Park City” has been promoted first in Chengdu, a lot of cities followed, which chieved good results in sustainable development. In the procedure of urban planning and construction, Suining highly emphasized ecological protection and attached attention to various urban disease. Through the construction of “sponge city”, which seen as an important means to realize the idea of “Urban dual maintenance”“Park City”, and played an important role in urban planning management was completed. Suining has a strong will to form an Ecological Environment Protection Planning System, and it`s certain that Suining has finished and achieved several results in the protection of urban ecological environment. This article focuses on the work of environmental protection in recent years of Suining, especially centering on the planning and construction measures of “Park City”. The measures implemented in the planning management, the environmental protection strategy in the planning preparation, and the promotion of the “sponge city” are also summarized. Through the comprehensive evaluation of the environment in Suining, some other small and medium-sized cities on the waterfront like Suining can get experiences in environmental protection. In the long run, to build an Environment Protection Planning System is meaningful for small and medium-sized cities. Summarizing characteristics, analyzing problems, summing up experience, putting forward suggestions, and concluding the core ideas of “Park City”, so the means and systems applied to some other small and medium- sized cities in the future can be summarized.","PeriodicalId":267538,"journal":{"name":"Civil Engineering and Urban Planning: An International Journal (CiVEJ)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128845916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since prehistoric times, scientists have not recorded an accelerated shift in ecology during any other epoch beside that of modern man on the planet. The paper seeks to explore how man’s history and development affects ecology and climate. It uses desk analysis to recollect data from global assessment reports and runs a One paired Sample Means t-Test, 1 tailed, 8 df, at Pearson Correlation value 0.458 and 0.5 level. Findings show that, there is global climate change, seen in global warming trends; and imbalance in ecological footprint, seen in depletion of air, water and land sinks. The t-Testreveals significant net loss of global forest cover. The study also, found that at present,processes of development generally tend to damage ecology. Therefore, the study recommends a refocus to sustainable means of development.","PeriodicalId":267538,"journal":{"name":"Civil Engineering and Urban Planning: An International Journal (CiVEJ)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126841203","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the computational development occurred in the last decades, it has arisen the opportunity for a broader study and development of numeric models in this field. For the conception of structural designs, it counts on vary computational software that automate great part of the structural desgin conception process. However, in the stage of definition of the structural elements position, such as columns and beams, there is still a high level of dependency of the designer because it is long the time spent in the conception and not always the solution found is the most viable in economic and executive terms. With that, the current work is the initial development of a computational model of structural optimization of reinforced concrete buildings to decrease the designer dependency with the objective of minimizing the costs – such as concrete volume and steel weight – through the search of columns positions and its dimensions, restricted to an imposed architecture. It must be employed the evolutionary computation philosophy using the heuristic method of genetic algorithms, in the generation of the various feasible solutions, which are obtained by the results of the model of analysis by spatial framed structures, based on the finite element method. For the generation of the cost function, it will be considered the determination of the section area of the column and the steel needed that attends the equilibrium of each reinforced concrete section subjected to biaxial (oblique) bending with axial force state. Lastly, it will be performed a qualitative and quantitative comparative analysis between structural conceptions with and without the optimization technique in order to verify the consequences of its use.","PeriodicalId":267538,"journal":{"name":"Civil Engineering and Urban Planning: An International Journal (CiVEJ)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132539733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, it explores more effective strategies from a spatial planning perspective by taking control of diverse spatial planning factors. The study area is South Korea, and the base year was 2016. The relationship between the built environment and three crimes (theft, violence, sexual assault) was analyzed using the spatial econometric model. As a result, the best spatial regression models for violent crime rate and sexual assault rate are SEM and SAC, respectively. The most prominent finding is that the regression results in the three crimes are slightly different. The broken windows effect was negligible for significant crimes in South Korea. The influence of regional disorders on the incidence of crimes was marginal. In the three crime types, mixed land use affected raising crime rates, which is a line with some previous studies that mixed land use increases the likelihood of crime incidences. Unlike a series of relevant works, brighter nighttime light has not effectively decreased crimes in South Korea. In South Korea, CCTV did not play a role in deterring crimes. Lastly, socio-economic characteristics were closely connected with crime rates in South Korea. Findings of theft rate, violent crime rate, and sexual assault rate confirm the reliability of environmental criminology. Although this study has examined the likelihood of applying environmental criminology, further researches and discussions are followed for concrete plans.","PeriodicalId":267538,"journal":{"name":"Civil Engineering and Urban Planning: An International Journal (CiVEJ)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129174245","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Right now, since February 2018, “Park City” has been promoted, and a series of measures have been implemented, which are of great significance to the sustainable development of urban and rural areas. It is of great strategic significance to explore a road to rural revitalization under the background of park cities and to implement the construction and implementation of township spaces. The Anyue County Party Committee and County Government attaches great importance to it, actively organizes, conducts in-depth research, and successfully completes the “Territorial spatial master planning of Wenhua Town, Anyue County”, which not only aims to realize the formation of intensive and efficient production space, moderate living space, and ecological space with beautiful scenery and safety. The harmonious, open, efficient, attractive and quality territorial space pattern has laid a solid foundation for the construction of a lemon culture agricultural tourism town, and also reflects the concept of some park cities. This paper conducts research and discussion on its planning formulation, summarizes the formulation of the existing township-level territorial space master planning, and puts forward some innovative suggestions for rural revitalization in the context of park cities.","PeriodicalId":267538,"journal":{"name":"Civil Engineering and Urban Planning: An International Journal (CiVEJ)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134432359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite conflicting evidence, numerous recent economic studies on growth research suggest that innovation and technology are significant drivers for productivity and growth. According to the OECD the lack or low level of employees' skills and qualifications might be in different ways a possible explanation for the observed slowdown of productivity growth. In this context, intrafirm behaviour has long been recognized as a potentially important driver for productivity. Results from surveys show that management practices have become more structured, in the sense of involving more data collection and analysis. Furthermore, a strong positive correlation between the measured management quality and firm performance can be observed. Studies suggest that there is a positive association between human skills and productivity.","PeriodicalId":267538,"journal":{"name":"Civil Engineering and Urban Planning: An International Journal (CiVEJ)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115071566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years, predicting traffic based on land use, along with several other variables, has become a worthwhile area of study. In this paper, it is proposed that Deep Neural Network Regression (DNN-Regression) and Recurrent Neural Network (DNN-RNN) methods could be used to predict traffic. These methods used three key variables: land use, demographic and temporal data. The proposed methods were evaluated with other methods, using datasets collected from the City of Calgary, Canada. The proposed DNN-Regression focused on demographic and land use variables for traffic prediction. The study also predicted traffic temporally in the same geographical area by using DNN-RNN. The DNN-RNN used long short-term memory to predict traffic. Comparative experiments revealed that the proposed DNN-Regression and DNN-RNN models outperformed other methods.","PeriodicalId":267538,"journal":{"name":"Civil Engineering and Urban Planning: An International Journal (CiVEJ)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122334137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
