Premchaiswadi","doi":"10.1109/SNPD.2010.52","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/SNPD.2010.52","url":null,"abstract":"In recent years, Caching technique (pull-based) in Mobile Ad hoc networks (MANETs) has become a promising technique in solving or mitigating the problems of performance, availability, scalability and resource paucity. MANETs consists of mobile nodes which communicate with each other through wireless medium without any fixed infrastructure. Mobile nodes may change rapidly and unpredictably over time. Accessing services and data over the network can be very slow and hence, the caching frequently accessed data is an effective technique for improving performance. It is used to minimize a repetitive querying of nearly stagnant data. The data can be queried once and stored in a cache, and the mobile node repeatedly accesses the cache for the data, or perhaps the cache is updated to get fresh data. There are a lot of research works going on to solve the problems of How to reduce client mobile side latency, How to maintain cache consistency between various caches and the servers and how to enable cooperation between multiple peer caches etc. In This paper presents a model to predict the data in cache operation on the mobile side by applying fuzzy logic method in order to prevent the transaction failures during execution in the mobile system that communicating across the wireless networks.","PeriodicalId":266363,"journal":{"name":"2010 11th ACIS International Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Parallel/Distributed Computing","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133262602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Wang","doi":"10.1109/SNPD.2010.31","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/SNPD.2010.31","url":null,"abstract":"The rapid growth in the development of Internet-based information systems increases the demand for natural language interfaces that are easy to set up and maintain. Unfortunately, the problem of deep understanding natural language queries is far from being solved. In this paper, an automated question answering system based on domain ontology and question template is proposed, which does not need deep understanding of user's questions. Ontology was employed to model the interesting domain, and properties of concepts are described by a collection of question templates. The system captures a user's intention by matching his questions to predefined templates, and return answers corresponding to template’s query focus. The system has been applied to mobile service consulting area, and experimental results show that the system has high practicability as well as maintainability.","PeriodicalId":266363,"journal":{"name":"2010 11th ACIS International Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Parallel/Distributed Computing","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121955776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The decision-making assumptions and the mathematical equation for Bayesian inference are derived based on data and knowledge obtained from experts. A detailed method to transform knowledge into a set of qualitative statements and an “a priori” distribution for Bayesian probabilistic models are proposed. We also propose a simplified method for constructing the “a prior” model distribution. Each statement obtained from the experts is used to constrain the model space to the subspace which is consistent with the statement provided. Finally, we present qualitative knowledge models and then show a full formalism of how to translate a set of qualitative statements into probability inequality constraints.","PeriodicalId":266363,"journal":{"name":"2010 11th ACIS International Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Parallel/Distributed Computing","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130070725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a File Transfer Service (FTS) for mobile phones with scare storage resources. It is a support that can be used through a set of functions (API) that facilitates file transfer between mobile applications and external storage servers, taking advantage of different wireless networks. The FTS selects the best wireless connection (WiFi, GPRS or UMTS) considering accessibility and cost of the service. FTS is able to use the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) as an alternative option for transferring files, which is especially useful when the mobile phone connectivity is limited. It is based on the J2ME platform. As a use case, a mobile application named Swapper was built on top of the FTS. When the mobile phone memory runs out, Swapper automatically sends selected files to a web storage server using the best connection available, increasing the storage space in the mobile phone. Swapper includes an efficient replacement policy that minimizes the latency perceived by users.","PeriodicalId":266363,"journal":{"name":"2010 11th ACIS International Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Parallel/Distributed Computing","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128966640","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we present a novel technique for automatic service discovery and composition based on bounded model checking. Specifically, given (1) a client specification of the objective service, described by a linear temporal logic formula, and (2) a set of available services, our technique discoveries these services which behavior satisfies the client specification or synthesizes a composite service that uses only the available services to realize the client specification.","PeriodicalId":266363,"journal":{"name":"2010 11th ACIS International Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Parallel/Distributed Computing","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116654363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

XML is a markup language that allows document owners describe their data in their own formats. There might be the same information has been described in various ways. This makes searching those information from different formats difficult. CXDR (CBR for XML Document Recommendation) is an idea to make searching XML documents easier. CXDR applies CBR framework to collect the mostly use XML document and recommend it to its user. CBR in CXDR consists of two parts, cases and knowledge. The case is XML documents and the knowledge is an XML document recommendation. Several holistic principles are introduced and pursued through the ERA design cycle. We show how reconfigurability is implemented at the level of hardware elements and system software structure. Two new models: (i) graph-logic and (ii) control-data-predicate are introduced and applied in the ERA. We propose a scheme to transform sequential programs for execution on ERA, we also show that ERA has exceptional flexibility and reconfigurability and fits embedded, high performance and safety critical applications. Finally, further progress of ERA is discussed.","PeriodicalId":266363,"journal":{"name":"2010 11th ACIS International Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Parallel/Distributed Computing","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-06-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130553605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
