For our country, Nepal, it is more important asit has lots of national and international heritage areas and have to conserve as much as possible in a suitable and best way. As one should know the typical type of process which can be followed as required by any heritage area. To conserve the heritage area, one may follow one or more than one process for same project. According to international conservation pattern or rules, here comes few types of conservation ways which may be fitted for our context too.","PeriodicalId":263238,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Engineering Education","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125898583","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experimental data obtained via testing and data from CFD approach are used for performance evaluation. From the data obtained experimentally, the VAHWT so fabricated has been found to operate at the low cut-in speed of 3.18 m/s and maximum power output has been found to be 2.656 watts at the wind speed of 8 m/s. The maximum rpm of the rotor blade is recorded to be 722.2 rpm at the velocity of 11.53 m/s signifying its potentiality of wind power production. Besides, the data so obtained from both the process when analyzed through graph plots, has shown the similar nature slope wise. This simply signifies the generation of satisfactory data via experiment. In addition, the mechanical losses has shown difference between the experimental and data obtained via CFD approach. At the end, when applying CFD approach for evaluation of maximum efficient turbine varying the aspect ratio, has shown the turbine with aspect ratio of 0.6531 to be the most efficient with performance coefficient of 36.396%. However due to limitation in RPM and Test rig, the rotor blade with aspect ratio of 0.6956 was fabricated and used for evaluation experimentally. The data so obtained from both the process were concluded to be relevant to each other. Thus, the detail study on this project has led to the need and opportunity of VAHWT to be further researched and can be developed as a good source of energy producing system. It can also be economical method of power extraction from wind in the countries like Nepal with growing urbanization.","PeriodicalId":263238,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Engineering Education","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117289408","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to surface water, a large volume of water is available in the shallow and deep aquifers which are estimated to be 8.8 billion cu.m annually which can be used for irrigation and domestic water supplies. At present less than 50% of the cultivated area has intermittent irrigation facilities and less than 20% of cultivated area has year round irrigation.Nepal’s economy is largely based on agriculture however, Nepalese agriculture is mainly rain fed and agriculture production in both rain fed as well as irrigated areas are being badly affected due to droughts, flooding, erratic rainfall, and other extreme weather events. It is necessary that the modern agriculture practice with the help of year round irrigation we can increase the GDP and provides greater employment opportunities and ultimately we can do sustainable agriculture development. Present water consumption rate is less than 8% of the country’s water potential for irrigation sector. This water consumption rate is very low for our country. This consumption rate can be increase by making a comprehensive study and implementation plan by making multipurpose reservoir type irrigation project for maximum use of available water resources. Year round irrigation scheme also become great tool to get optimum economic development in agricultural sector and maximum crop yield.","PeriodicalId":263238,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Engineering Education","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115651606","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Banana cultivation in Nepal is more popular like other agricultural products and has annual fibre production of about 1,977 tons. The thick, fleshy and fibrous pseudo stems that are left over after harvesting the bananas can be used to extract high quality fibre. Farmers usually throw away this whole stump because it is big and heavy and takes a long time to rot and the animals do not eat it. The cost of importing extraction machine from other country is expensive. The research and development of such machine with low cost, which ultimately provides opportunity of local entrepreneurship to farmers and helps in proper utilization of agricultural management, was felt necessary. The developed machine from this project, uses combined application of roller and a decorticator for fibre extraction. The machine can extract fibre from 1,648 Kg of input which is about 100-160 banana pseudostem. The fibre production obtained was 54 Kg per day with NRS. 11 operation cost per 1 Kg of fibre. The production efficiency in comparison to available commercial machine is 180 %.","PeriodicalId":263238,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Engineering Education","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117200621","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Formulation of Concrete is through combination of Cement, stone aggregate, sand and water according to their design mix based on the ultimate strength required for the structural component. The Mixing of concrete is as mortar, the layer of cement, sand and water is wrapped around the aggregate. When the load is applied to the concrete, the weaker zone i.e. mortar of cement, sand is weaker than stone aggregate, damage by formulation of crack before crack in aggregate. The Damage behavior of Concrete is thus to be analyzed according to their fatigue behavior.\u0000Strain Based approach in Fatigue Damage Modelling of Brittle Material in Concrete is presented to describe the behavior and failure of con-crete by utilizing Damage Mechanics approach. Stiffness degradation and inelastic deformation are the essential features of concrete that develop due tothe formation of multitude of microcracks in the fatigue environment. Microcracking, which is anisotropic in nature, destroys the bond between material grains, and affects the elastic properties resulting in the reduction of material stiffness in elastic as well as plastic stage. This paper presents an anisotropic fatigue damage model for plain concrete subjected to cyclic tension. The model is developed, in strain space, using the general framework of internal variable theory of continuum thermodynamics and Damage Mechanics. It is argued that within the damage surface of given strain states the unloadingreloading cycles (fatigue loading) stimulate the nucleation and growth microcracks in concrete, which will result in stiffness degradation and inelastic deformation, and hence material is termed as damaged. Damage is reflected through the fourthorder stiffness tensor involving a damage parameter whose increment is governed by the consistency equation associated with a cycle dependent damage surface in strain space. The model is capable of predicting stiffness degradation, inelastic deformation and strength reduction under fatigue loading and compared against experimental result.\u0000By increasing the number of loading cycles, the strength of concrete gradually decreases and the limit surface is allowed to contract and form new curves representing residual strengths. The magnitude of loading, load range, and the load path are known to influence the fatigue life and hence are addressed in this formulation. In this paper, a strength softening function is proposed in order to address the re-duction in the strength of concrete due to fatigue. Separate softening functions are also proposed to account for the deformation characteristics in concrete under cyclic loading. Numerical simula-tions predicted by the model in both uniaxial and biaxial stress paths show a good correlation with the experimental data available in the literature.","PeriodicalId":263238,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Engineering Education","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126930939","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aggregate has significantfunctions as concrete making materials for the solidity and strength of concrete.The objective of this research was comparative evaluation of crusher and river bed coarse aggregate in respect to the flexural strength of M20 grade concrete with nominal mix. For this research, sample were taken from Kotre Crusher(KC), Kotre River Bed (KR), Hemja Crusher (HC) and Hemja River Bed (HR) considering sand from single source and cement remains singlebrand.Nine cubes (500 mm × 100 mm×100mm) were cast for each sampled source and the flexural strength was determined using a single point load flexural testing machine after 7 days, 14 days and 28 days of curing. The mean flexural strength for the KC, KR, HC and HR sources were 4.86 N/mm2, 4.34 N/mm2, 4.58 N/mm2 and 4.1N/mm2, respectively. Also, the percentageincrement of flexural strength for KC, KR, HC and HR sources are 23.31, 19.11, 19.88 and 18.12 from 7 days to 14 days and 20.90, 16.04, 18.65 and 16.48 from 14 days to 28days respectively. Modulus of rupture of all aggregate sources are greater than theminimum flexural strength as per IS: 456 – 2000. Finally, outcomes of the study indicated that the flexural strength of Kotre Crusher aggregate is more than other sources and all selected samples applicable for construction work.","PeriodicalId":263238,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Innovations in Engineering Education","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133949046","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
