Flotation studies were carried out under varying conditions of process parameters. Effects of granulometry of the feed, dosage of sodium iso-propyl xanthate as collector, pH and gangue depressant/dispersant were studied. Sulphidization technique and use of potassium octyl hydroxamate as auxiliary collector for flotation of oxidised minerals were observed to enhance copper recovery. Use of sodium silicate as depressant/dispersant for siliceous gangues helped in improving grade of copper concentrate. Rougher followed by multi-stage cleaning were found necessary to produce a high grade copper concentrate. Based on the studies undertaken the process was designed for concentration of the low grade copper ore sample.","PeriodicalId":262953,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Chemistry: Education Research and Practice","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133908074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The optimized molecular structure is found to possess Cs point group symmetry with the plane of symmetry passing through the C atom, to which the CF3 group is attached, the centrally opposite C atom and the C atom of the CF3 group and perpendicular to the phenyl ring plane. One of the three F atoms of the CF3 group is found to be on one side of the ring plane and is situated on the plane of the symmetry while the other two F atoms are found to be on the other side of the ring plane placed symmetrically on either side of the symmetry plane. Vibrational assignments for the normal modes have been reviewed. To make vibrational assignments for the normal modes of vibration the Gauss View software was used. The CF3 group has the characteristic frequencies in the 340, 768, 1072, 1152 and 1318 cm-1 which are due to the modes δs (CF3), Vs (CF3 ), Vas(CF3) (a’), Vas(CF3) (a”) and V(C–CF3 ) respectively. The torsional frequency of the CF3 group is found to be 16 cm-1 which would lead to barrier height of ~ 0.5 kJ / mol for the torsional motion of the CF3 group.","PeriodicalId":262953,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Chemistry: Education Research and Practice","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131974055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We divided students into two groups. One group of students was trained to write procedural flowchart and the other group of students was educated to write chemical flowchart for the preparation of p-nitroacetanilde from acetanilde and preparation of hippuric acid from glycine. The procedural flowchart simply represents the steps involved in an organic preparation. While, chemical flowchart describes chemical species involved in each step of preparation. We found that students educated to write chemical flowchart have gained superior knowledge in chemistry over the students who were trained to write procedural flowchart.","PeriodicalId":262953,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Chemistry: Education Research and Practice","volume":"179 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132531629","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Candida albicans utilizes food components and are transformed into many metabolic end products leading to sensory, chemical and physical properties changes with especial reference to the health impacts on the consumer's health. Therefore, the current experimental study aimed to investigate the inhibitory effect of two vital food additives (Propionibacterium and acetic acid) at four different concentrations (0.5, 1.0, 2.5 and 5%) on C. albicans including recording their impact on the sensory characters of the treated chicken fillet samples in chilling conditions (4±1OC): After physical and microbial examination for nine days of storage, results showed significant improvement in the sensory characters of the treated samples, especially with increasing the concentration of the tested additives when compared with the control untreated samples which was spoiled at the 9th day of inoculation. Regarding with the anti-C. albicans effect of the tested materials, in general, C. albicans showed higher reduction percent with increasing the concentration of the inoculated additives; furthermore, the treated samples with 2.5% and 5.0% acetic acid, after nine days of inoculation, showed more reduction in C. albicans counts (70.7% and 87.2%, respectively) than the treated samples with Propionibacterium of the same concentration (41.4 and 52.7%, respectively): Referring to the obtained results, Propionibacterium and acetic acid of the 2.5% and 5.0% concentration could be considered a good choice for preservation and enhancing quality of chilled chicken fillet, and may be recommended for its usage in chicken fillet preservation as safe and easy applied food additives.","PeriodicalId":262953,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Chemistry: Education Research and Practice","volume":"177 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133720015","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Heavy metal contaminants are increasing rapidly due to industrialization especially automobile industry. Previously, various techniques were developed and improved over time like encapsulation, surface capping, landfilling, soil washing, soil flushing, electro kinetic extraction, solidification, stabilization, phytoremediation, and bioremediation. These techniques minimize the contaminants by utilizing immobilization, containment and removal mechanisms. Bioremediation is a promising technique that utilizes the capability of plants and microbial resources for decontamination of ecosystem from heavy metal contaminants. Microbes have shown capability to utilize heavy metal remediation and assist plant tolerance for heavy metal accumulation. Earlier published studies have not yet completely evaluated proficiencies to large scale however, in the present review, critical analysis of reported techniques focusing on the bioremediation have been discussed. For this purpose, a survey was prepared for the urban residents. Based on statistical calculations, the sample size found to be 214 households with an acceptable error rate of 6.7% and a confidence level of 95%. The survey asked questions such as education level, income level, monthly consumed electrical energy, and natural gas consumption of the people living in the household. The results show that the level of access to modern energy systems varies according to the income levels and education levels of the households living in urban areas. It was observed that in the city center, where access to electricity is not lacking, the inadequacy of households' access to electricity was only due to income differences. In addition, a direct correlation revealed that fossil fuels and their derivatives are consumed more by low-income and low-education households.","PeriodicalId":262953,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Chemistry: Education Research and Practice","volume":"112 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123933213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
