Hence, recreational activities focus on improving: health status, cognitive abilities, physical and emotional skills. This document presents the development of a memory game made for Android platform, in which some usability and accessibility criteria focused on elderly people was used. To prove its functioning and perform an evaluation applying the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the game was presented to 63 elders who assist to the “Hogar de los Abuelos” in Cuenca, Ecuador.","PeriodicalId":261509,"journal":{"name":"2020 Seventh International Conference on eDemocracy & eGovernment (ICEDEG)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115345749","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In other words, people who interact as active members through the use of collaborative and social platforms generate valuable data that is used as input for intelligent systems. The stagnation of the construction sector in large cities and the resulting housing situation have led researchers to seek new technological answers where participation from people, together with policies established by the government, jointly create new environments and solutions of housing. This study aims to present the design of a social Web application that promotes collaborative-based urban planning within the context of cognitive cities. Specifically, after studying the theoretical bases and analyzing data collected in two Ecuadorian cities, we propose a non-functional prototype. The proposed methods approach to what will be a Web application that embeds a model of cognitive urban planning, and were evaluated by local government collaborators. The prototype was built depending on the requirements specification and the intelligent components that will allow citizens to collaborate and interact in a smarter way. We conclude that involving people in the co-creation of their cities (by collaborative computer-mediated means) may improve their living conditions and place urban resilience as a challenge that can be overcome.","PeriodicalId":261509,"journal":{"name":"2020 Seventh International Conference on eDemocracy & eGovernment (ICEDEG)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117057376","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of this research is to investigate how a blockchain can contribute to the reduction of the vulnerabilities to corruption in the Brazilian context. Two stages of a literature review have been performed. The first identified the vulnerabilities to corruption in the Brazilian context and the second one identified the effective uses of blockchain characteristics. Subsequently, a deductive analysis was performed, aiming to verify which of the Blockchain initiatives presented could be potentially applied in the fight against corruption. This study points out ways to mitigate fraud and other causes of corruption to help regain society's trust in state institutions in Brazil, which has been suffering over the years from corruption scandals. Additionally, a research agenda leading to anti-corruption studies has been discussed.","PeriodicalId":261509,"journal":{"name":"2020 Seventh International Conference on eDemocracy & eGovernment (ICEDEG)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121755619","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The usage of face for biometric authentication of users is attracting large investments from banks worldwide due to its convenience and acceptability by people, especially in cross-domain scenarios, in which facial images from ID documents are compared with digital self-portraits (selfies) for the automated opening of new checking accounts, e.g, or financial transactions authorization. Actually, the comparison of selfies and IDs has also been applied in another wide variety of tasks nowadays, such as automated immigration control. The major difficulty in such process consists in attenuating the differences between the facial images compared given their different domains. In this work, in addition to collecting a large cross-domain face dataset, with 27,002 real facial images of selfies and ID documents (13,501 subjects) captured from the databases of the major public Brazilian bank, we propose a novel architecture for such cross-domain matching problem based on deep features extracted by two well-referenced Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN). Results obtained on the dataset collected, called FaceBank, with accuracy rates higher than 93%, demonstrate the robustness of the proposed approach to the cross-domain face matching problem and its feasible application in real banking security systems.","PeriodicalId":261509,"journal":{"name":"2020 Seventh International Conference on eDemocracy & eGovernment (ICEDEG)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134404892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
