Based on a review of the original concept of rule-governed behavior, our purpose was to extend the definition of this behavior oriented to the clinical process. This definition allows its identification and study moment by moment throughout the therapeutic process. The extension of this definition can help us to identify the al role of rules in clinical change and the variables involved that contribute to the understanding of clinical phenomena such as generalization. The sample consisted of 130 males with an alcohol dependence disorder. Around 56% of the sample completed treatment – they were given therapeutic discharge. From those, 75.3% never resumed treatment, increasing to 77.7% when patients completed the check-up period after discharge. Fumado","doi":"10.5093/CL2012A17","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5093/CL2012A17","url":null,"abstract":"Previous research looking at adopted children has shown that children adopted from Eastern Europe (EE) are more likely to show inattention and hyperactivity/impulsivity whereas girls adopted from China (CH) tend to have normative adjustment scores, although as they grow up, internalising behaviours might increase. We directly compare parental ratings of the SNAP-IV (Hyperactivity/Inattention) and SCARED (Anxiety) of girls adopted from CH (n = 42), EE (n = 34) and other countries (n = 32). EE were more likely to show inattention, hyperactivity/impulsivity and defiant behaviours than CH, independent of age at adoption and number of siblings. The age of the child only had a significant effect on defiant behaviours. No significant differences in anxiety were observed between groups. Overall anxiety levels were related to hyperactivity/impulsivity. Entre los pacientes que completaron el tratamiento (n = 152) la TCC/I+PN mostro tasas de abstinencia a los 6 meses y al ano, mayores que la TCC/NI+PN, mientras que la TCC/I mostro tasas de abstinencia que no eran significativamente diferentes de las de los otros dos tratamientos. Pinel, Marta Redondo","doi":"10.5093/CL2014A8","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.5093/CL2014A8","url":null,"abstract":"Blood phobia could be defined by the presence of fear and a number of avoiding or escaping behaviors regarding places, objects and situations related to the sight of blood, needles or injuries, with nearly an 80% of cases having a history of fainting. This phobia has a prevalence of 31‰ and usually implies a great impact on the subject’s life. The present study is a review of the most outstanding literature in the field, addressing the explanatory variables along with the most effective treatments. Then, literature has been searched along three research lines: sensitivity to disgust, the role of hyperventilation, and the attentional bias. Also, the most effective procedures in the field have being reviewed. The results show that there is not a significant difference between the Applied Tension (AT) and the Exposure (E) alone – the most efficient techniques to treat this phobia. Regarding the three research lines mentioned above, the more significant procedures used over the last few years have been the role of hyperventilation and the attentional bias. The assessment tools used were an ad-hoc self-report for the socio-demographic and illness variables, the questionnaire of self-concept Garley (CAG), and the questionnaire of adaptive response to the disease in diabetic patients. The sample consisted of 23 subjects evaluated at a single time of measurement, all of them children and adolescents aged between 8 and 16 years of age. The results show that about 50% of the children and adolescents with type I diabetes had a low self-concept in most of the studied dimensions, being especially significant that about 30% of the studied children have a very low self-concept.
