All data collected from the target population were analysed through two-step structural equation modelling (SEM) and moderated multiple regression (MMR) to examine the hypotheses. 1050 questionnaires were randomly distributed at 21 telecommunication service stores in Taiwan. As a result, findings indicated that service quality has no direct impact on behavioural loyalty but it has a significant indirect impact on behavioural loyalty through a brand trust or attitudinal loyalty. Moreover, findings identify perceived hidden inflation as the moderating role in the service quality–brand trust–brand loyalty chain.","PeriodicalId":260900,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Strategic Change Management","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128504970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We conduct a review of theoretical and empirical publications which involve Bourdieu's theory in order to assess the degree in which the concepts of habitus, field and capital are used in a manner that is consistent to the initial ontological and epistemological assumptions of his theory. Research findings indicate that, although habitus is the dominant concept, its combined use with the other Bourdieu's theoretical constructs, as a system, offers a richer explanatory framework for understanding strategy formation in complex competitive organisational environments. This review extends strategy literature by providing novel insights about the so far unexploited contribution of Bourdieu, and proposes research directions to better incorporate Bourdieu's concepts in the strategy as practice research agenda.","PeriodicalId":260900,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Strategic Change Management","volume":"207 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132257354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Coordination remained a key hurdle as the use of theoretical concepts at strategic level to provide understanding of the phenomena has yet to be explored. This research is aimed to examine the empirical applicability of two strategic management theories in the new research stream of humanitarian supply chain management (HSCM). The study includes series of thoughts using the previous literature and additional support from the case studies to examine what social network and resource dependence theory can bring to this research stream. The paper concludes that the research in humanitarian supply chain can borrow these two theories and their related characteristics for a better coordination in disaster relief network. Three propositions are formulated and two complementary theories are recommended for further investigation.","PeriodicalId":260900,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Strategic Change Management","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123084860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this paper is to extend the literature on change-oriented OCB by examining its association with the personality and the moderating influence of organisational tenure on this association. Based on a sample of 272 employees, the current study investigates the interactive effect of personality and tenure on change-oriented OCB on the basis of human capital theory, social capital theory, self-efficacy, job demand resource model, and status characteristic theory using cross-sectional method. The results confirm that organisational tenure moderates the relationship between personality traits and change-oriented OCB. Practical implications and limitations are discussed.","PeriodicalId":260900,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Strategic Change Management","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116170724","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper considers two frameworks from outside the 'traditional' change literature that can assist in coping with change and that have been recognised for many years, but which are arguably under-utilised in assisting employees through the behavioural, and particularly the emotional journey through organisational change. Bridges' (1991) transition framework and the Kubler-Ross (1969) Grief Cycle are examined in turn, and each is critically appraised to identify the benefits, or otherwise, of what they offer to assist employees to cope with change, and managers to manage that coping element of change management. The outcomes suggest that both frameworks are beneficial to change practitioners, and can assist in supporting employees through the transition from one organisational state to another.","PeriodicalId":260900,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Strategic Change Management","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125745282","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Media texts are a significant tool for participating and directing the general pulse of management and strategising. This study follows a narrative turn in emphasising the importance of micro-stories in strategising and strategy research. An empirical analysis of media texts on the web about strategic change revealed that today's professional consultants are expressing more cooperation-based perspectives compared with competition-based perspectives. However, because the main paradigm of societies and economies is competition, the general underlying tendency is based on the tension between competition and cooperation (coopetition). Furthermore, media texts show that strategising is not based on top-down management, but on empowerment processes where the participants are discussing and even deciding the aims of the organisation. In addition, this study concerns the relationship between knowledge management, theory in use and strategy as practice, providing some implications.","PeriodicalId":260900,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Strategic Change Management","volume":"177 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123258396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The model of this study is based on a relevant literature review, a panel with specialists that have expertise in Brazilian tourism and field research. The investigation was carried out in 15 Brazilian tourist cities, representative of the socioeconomic diversity that characterises the heterogeneity of a developing country. The results of the study show the level of competitiveness of these 15 destinations according to the 13 dimensions proposed in the model, identifying the strong and weak points of local tourism. An assessment was carried out in detail that should serve to assist public managers in the strategic planning of these cities. As a complementary result, the study may be successfully replicated in other destinations, thus initiating a historical series for monitoring the competitiveness of Brazilian tourist destinations.","PeriodicalId":260900,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Strategic Change Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126513253","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are at least three important aspects to collegiality in academe - the ethical imperative, the task of assessing collegiality affect on job effectiveness and the question of boundaries. Lack of collegiality can only be detrimental for the institution, turn-off students and even prompt workforce to disengage or leave altogether. Hoping things will get better is not a strategy for dealing with toxic behaviour and neither is waiting for a troublemaker to retire. Hence, ensuring collegiality is the corner stone of teaching excellence and developing academe. With in-depth observation and content analysis of secondary data, this paper aims to identify what is collegiality, role of departmental heads, and steps to nurture and develop collegiality for excellence in academia.","PeriodicalId":260900,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Strategic Change Management","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125020803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
