INTRODUCTION: The COVID-19 pandemic produced a reorganization of health systems and, in particular, affected the provision of services for people with psychosocial disabilities in a way that was pending an analysis in Argentina. The objective was to characterize the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on services aimed at people with psychosocial disabilities in the cities of Rosario (Santa Fe), Resistencia (Chaco) and the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires from the perspective of their workers during 2020-2021. METHODS: An exploratory and descriptive study was carried out by interviewing 53 workers from three types of rehabilitation services (aimed at providing support for socialization, for work or for housing) in two moments (November-December 2020 and April-June 2021). Frequencies were calculated and a thematic analysis was performed. RESULTS: The impact on services was broad and long-lasting, they became less accessible and effective in contributing to rehabilitation. Common aspects such as the new centrality of technology, massive adaptations and deep subjective impact on workers marked by fatigue were observed. Within a year of the pandemic, two-thirds of socialization-oriented services were still severely affected or closed. DISCUSSION: From the description and analysis of how the rehabilitation services were affected, the question remains regarding their future and how the mental health reform will unfold.","PeriodicalId":259836,"journal":{"name":"COVID-19 and International Business","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130553890","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a theoretical-reflexive study that dialogues about the importance of religious/spiritual care in the pandemic, having as a guideline scientific productions that discuss the theme. R/S is part of people's social repertoire and can help to deal with adverse conditions. In health, the openness to promote religious-spiritual care can be important in coping with the disease and in building care protocols that are sensitive to this dimension, especially at a time when R/S can contribute to reflections about isolation, social distance and mental health. Knowing how R/E can impact health in the context of the pandemic can provide evidence to think about religious-spiritual assistance","PeriodicalId":259836,"journal":{"name":"COVID-19 and International Business","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126335092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Covid-19 is expected to accelerate firms’ relocations and GVCs’ reconfigurations either towards closer locations (i.e. near-shoring) or back to the home countries (i.e. back-reshoring), thus acting as a trigger. In this chapter, we propose a 5W framework to explain the “Why” (Covid-19), the “Who” (single firms vs. manufacturing network), the “When” (short- vs. long-term), the “Where” (home country vs. home region) and the “What” (the object of the relocation) of this phenomenon. The framework helps in identifying four possible relocation modes triggered by Covid-19, namely individual or joint back-reshoring and individual or joint near-shoring. We also show how real cases can be explained by our framework and provide examples of the identified alternative relocation modes. Finally, we discuss “How” policymakers can provide a significant contribution by switching their attention from the single firms to the entire value chains, by restoring manufacturing skills and infrastructures, and by cooperating at macro-regional level (e.g. European Union) rather than acting only at national level in order to foster the near-shoring of the GVCs, thus giving birth to regional value chains.","PeriodicalId":259836,"journal":{"name":"COVID-19 and International Business","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125903687","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
