As a type of interactive tool, many SPOC forums have stored rich textual data including focused learning content and feedback. However, currently, this information is used mainly for measuring students' activity levels instead of academic emotion and their evolutionary trends throughout a teaching period. This paper presents an unsupervised forum understanding model, namely the temporal emotion-topic model (TETM), to model time jointly with emotions and topics. This model is applied to track the evolutionary trends of pairs of {emotion, topic}, i.e., emot-topics. Especially, for each emotion, the most significant topic can be extracted and tracked across a semester. Finally, we investigate the emot-topics differences of different achievement levels of students, and examine the dynamics of emot-topics over course weeks to gain some insights about the relationship between time, emotion and learning achievement. The tracking of emot-topics could be valuable if users are informed of what students are concerned about and how these topics evolve in courses.","PeriodicalId":259749,"journal":{"name":"2018 Seventh International Conference of Educational Innovation through Technology (EITT)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129704728","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To explore the developing trends in mobile learning, this study used t-tests and ANOVA to explicate the effects of different grades, genders and parents' educational levels on the degree of students' satisfaction with m-learning. Then stepwise multiple regression analysis was used to predict the factors influencing m-learning satisfaction (SA). The results showed that gender differences did not have a significant impact on satisfaction, but the differences in grades and parents' education levels did. In addition, it was found that perceived usefulness and behavioral intention can be used as positive predictors of satisfaction with mobile learning. Finally, this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve users' satisfaction with m-learning.","PeriodicalId":259749,"journal":{"name":"2018 Seventh International Conference of Educational Innovation through Technology (EITT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129958288","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are now engaged in evaluating the efficiency of inputs and outputs of their disciplines and schools. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is used widely in different fields including education to evaluate the input-output performance. But not many studies have used DEA to evaluate schools performance within universities. In this study, we conducted a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to evaluate the research production performance of some liberal arts schools in a Double Top University in China. We chose critical faculty and postgraduate-students related indicators as inputs and research productions such as papers, projects, fund and monographs as outputs indicators. CCR, BCC and Super Efficiency DEA models were selected to compare the efficiency performances from different aspects. The evaluation results for each model are compared in this paper and suggestions for supporting decision are proposed.","PeriodicalId":259749,"journal":{"name":"2018 Seventh International Conference of Educational Innovation through Technology (EITT)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128501286","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can provide new opportunities for the reform and development of online education. However, due to the weak control of SPOC teaching learning environment and lack of self-regulation ability of learners, at present the learners' weak learning motivation and lack of self-confidence have become the main contradiction in deep learning of SPOC. Therefore, this study proposed the use of ARCS theory (which is short for Attention, Relevance, Confidence and Satisfaction, proposed by J.M.Keller in 1987) to guide the research and practice of SPOC. Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of typical SPOC teaching cases at home and abroad, it drawed on ARCS theory applied to related research in online education, and constructed a new SPOC instructional model based on ARCS theory. Then, this model was applied to D open university, and the participants in the experiment were assessed, including satisfaction and acceptance. At last, We concluded that this teaching model not only improved the teaching effect of SPOC, but also could effectively arouse and maintain the learning motivation, and enhance the self-confidence and participation of learners. It was practical for the reform and development of open education.","PeriodicalId":259749,"journal":{"name":"2018 Seventh International Conference of Educational Innovation through Technology (EITT)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129829197","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
