They need to push or pull the cart to the patient’s beds, and then, need to bring it back to the original position many times daily. It can be tiresome for nurses because in a day, they need to treat many patients in the hospital. Thus, many devices have been invented to assist the nurses in their daily work routines. This research is focusing on developing a nurse following mobile robot that follows and carries medical items. The mobile robot is integrated with microcontroller, Global Positioning System (GPS) module, digital compass module and Bluetooth module. To use the robot, the nurse firstly needs to connect her smartphone to the robot through Bluetooth connection. Once the connection is established, the robot will start to follow the nurse. The robot can carry a maximum load of 5 kg and uses two direct current geared motors and a caster wheel to move.","PeriodicalId":259202,"journal":{"name":"PROCEEDINGS OF 8TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCED MATERIALS ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (ICAMET 2020)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116527082","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The composition of lightweight concrete consists of Portland composite cement, expanded polystyrene, water, and foam. The ratio of the composition used is 1:2.75 for cement and aggregate, 1:40 for foaming agent and water, and 0.485 for W/C. The expanded polystyrene sizes used are 1 mm, 2 mm, and 3 mm. All specimens were cured for 28 days. The concrete test results at 28 days provided compressive strengths of 6.64 MPa, 5.53 MPa, 3.73 MPa, and 13.58 MPa, as well as density of 886 kg/m3, 830 kg/m3, 782 kg/m3, and 1,870 kg/m3 for mixtures of LWC-1, LWC-2, LWC-3, and Normal Mortar. The aim of this research was the performance of lightweight concrete with EPS by determining the durability, density, and the compressive strength using a 5% hydrochloric acid (HCl) solution. In the previous studies, the EPS had been heated before mixed. In this study, the EPS had not been heated and directly used in the mixing process. The lightweight concrete with EPS was very potential to reduce structure mass then resulted in a lower earthquake loads on the structures. There were three different conditions of treatment for the specimens that were open room, completely immersing in HCl 5%, and cyclic. The durability of lightweight concrete was determined during 28 and 56 days of immersion in HCl solution to obtain the results of reduced compressive strength and density. The condition III showed the most significant reduction in density and compressive strength at the age of 56 days immersion. The normal mortar has the best durability when compared to all LWCs, with a reduction of density and compressive strength of 14.08% and 32.88%, while the LWC-1 showed the best durability with a reduction in density and compressive strength of 18.41% and 35.44%.","PeriodicalId":259202,"journal":{"name":"PROCEEDINGS OF 8TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCED MATERIALS ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (ICAMET 2020)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126492922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Much of the existence of this locally renowned ‘third place’ interfaces between work and life due to its direct connection with urban development. Kedai pati (‘pigeon stall’) is said to be part of the locality in Kota Baru township for more than fifty years, providing a distinctive experience of nostalgia. Kedai Pati is perceived as a valuable space for the local working men to informally attend on the regular or irregularly. At present day, Kedai Pati still survives with its signature theatrical-service pantry operation, seller-buyer social setting, that is part of a unique ambience considered as Kelantan’s cultural heritage. Mapping the remaining locations of the kedai pati around the urban settings of current Kota Bharu Town Centre will indicate the strategic foci of nodal gastronomic places for the public to have access to. Over the few centuries, with the advent of technology, numerous assistive technologies have been developed and widely accessible for the visually impaired community. However, for developing countries such as Malaysia, educational braille based and current assistive technology for visually impaired people to read and visualize such as electronic braille display still lacking. This is because a piezo bimorph actuator actuates most of the braille cell used in the commercialize braille display. This system not only complex due to arrangement of the piezo strip, but it also expensive to produce a reliable system. Moreover, it’s braille cell also has a limited feature, where it can support to display single-line sentence only due to the arrangement and nature of piezo bimorph. This paper aims to develop an electromagnetic actuator for braille cell, where it can support multiple lines of sentence, cost-effective and has the same performance as commercial braille display. Next, to determine suitable design parameters and evaluates the performance of the fabricated braille cell. An experiment is done with three levels of factors, one for the number of turns and the other is diameter which are 100, 200, and 300 turns and 0.1, 0.3, and 1.0mm. The result shows, regardless of wire diameter for coil, the minimum current required to lift the dot will remain the same for the same number of turns. A final number of turns and diameter selected is 300 turns and 0.1mm and required minimum value of current 0.08A to lift the dot. The study approaches towards the development of braille cell that used alternative actuator, which is an electromagnetic actuator to achieve more compact braille display while able to display multiline sentence.","PeriodicalId":259202,"journal":{"name":"PROCEEDINGS OF 8TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCED MATERIALS ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (ICAMET 2020)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116863960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Vending machines serves automatically, with a specific currency. Vending machines has become a multipurpose machine that not only able to serve food and snacks, but also serve ready to go meal and some are also equipped with microwave to heat the food and can be readily eaten right after purchase. Suppliers are becoming more efficient in placing vending machines so that consumers can have access to the particular vending machines. Globalization has brought Islamization with Vending machines. Hence many halal-based products are available, with the innovation of Halal vending machine, competing with Kosher-based product. Japan, Brunei and Malaysia are the pioneers that open the market as to the growing numbers of Muslim consumers. Fake logos and too many certified Halal logos have done nothing but increasing the doubt among the Muslim consumers and community. Thus, the human factor variables will be investigate thoroughly and final model can be used to predict product defect on the line to improve product quality. Product defects quantity are identified and analyzed to determine the potential predictors for developing the mathematical model. A case study is offered that illustrates in a spice packaging semi-automated production line the effect that complexity variables have on assembly quality. By using Minitab, Multiple Regression analysis is conducted to model the relationship between the input variables towards response variables. Most of their activities, like; speaking, reading, and learning, involved sign languages. For reading Al-Quran, deaf people used Arabic sign language to read the ayah Al-Quran. For them, assistive technologies to aid them in the process of learning and teaching of Al-Quran is very important, since the traditional method is very difficult and challenging. One of the reasons is that, traditionally, teachers need to know Arabic Sign Languages (ArSL) first in order to teach them to learn Al-Quran. Currently, assistive technology, it still considered to be relatively new and not well developed. In Malaysia and Indonesia, most of the developed technologies are mobile app, and web-based device, which both of them required continuous internet connection and only suitable for personal used. Previous research on assistive technologies can be classified into two types of devices. First, a sensor-based device, and second is the image-based device. Both of them have their advantages and disadvantages. For this project, the only image-based device is focused since the scope of this project is limited to supervised machine learning (Convolution neural network, CNN) that developed with accuracy above 80% in training and testing. The accuracy of CNN model can be explained based on the resulting pattern obtained from the training and testing. Next, the resulting pattern can be described as overfitting, underfitting, or optimum. This project shows that, with the appropriate tuning of hyperparameters based on the resulting pattern, the accuracy of the model can be improved. This CNN model is developed from scratch through trial and error tuning method since there are no formal techniques. Lastly, the CNN model is converted into a Tensorflow Lite format, which can ready to be integrated with mobile applications.","PeriodicalId":259202,"journal":{"name":"PROCEEDINGS OF 8TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCED MATERIALS ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY (ICAMET 2020)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132486936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
