However, current TVET institutions in Malaysia are far from being able to supply Malaysia with sufficient skilled workers in the future. This may be due to negative perceptions of the public regarding work-life balance and well-being when choosing TVET as a career pathway. Therefore, it is important to determine if TVET jobs are inferior to conventionally educated jobs in terms of family satisfaction, which refers to perceptions of family quality such as solidarity, happiness, and overall relational well-being. In this study, surveys distributed to 160 TVET graduates and 160 conventionally educated graduates are analysed using PLS-SEM analysis and PLS-SEM multigroup analysis. SmartPLS software version 3.2.7 was used for this research. The findings show that TVET jobs are no worse than conventionally educated graduates jobs in terms of family satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":258234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of International Business, Economics and Entrepreneurship","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115190056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Besides long-term international assignments, the literature on repatriation of alternative forms of international assignment have increased in popularity. Using the snowball sampling technique, a total of 147 returned questionnaires from Malaysian repatriates were valid after data screening. The SmartPLS 3.0 software was applied to conduct structural model analysis and multi-group analysis. It appears that repatriates who perceived that they were overqualified, often exhibited a low affective commitment and high continuance commitment. Beyond that, the impact of the perceived overqualification was prominent among traditional repatriates, as opposed to the alternative form of repatriates, based on the post-hoc findings. This study drew on the relative deprivation theory, and highlighted that a proxy for successful repatriation was to reduce the repatriate’s deprivation, in order to maintain affective and continuance commitment of repatriates. Therefore, this study acknowledges the emerging notion and believe that the post-hoc findings should put the organization on alert, to help maintain the organizational commitment of their valuable repatriates upon returning from both types of international assignments.","PeriodicalId":258234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of International Business, Economics and Entrepreneurship","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128055819","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A seemingly unrelated regression (SUR) was utilised to analyse the associations between household expenditure on fresh and processed meat, and household heads’ sociodemographic and household characteristics. Compared to households headed by younger individuals, households headed by older individuals spent more on fresh meat. Households with less-educated heads spent less on fresh and processed meats than households with well-educated heads. Larger households and households headed by employed individuals spent more on processed meat compared with smaller households and households headed by unemployed individuals. Urban households spent less on fresh meat but spent more on processed meat relative to rural households. Meat consumption expenditure varies significantly across sociodemographic and household factors. Findings of the present study are useful in formulation of policy to reduce meat consumption expenditure.","PeriodicalId":258234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of International Business, Economics and Entrepreneurship","volume":"131 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127489146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The empirical findings reveal that public capital and labour force have a detrimental impact on economic growth. The study also discovered that private capital and growth are positively related. The Granger causality tests, on the other hand, unveil that both bidirectional and unidirectional causal linkages. As a result, these findings suggest that infrastructure development should be emphasized through public-private partnerships and a favourable investment climate to stimulate private sector investment to sustain long-term economic growth should be improved.","PeriodicalId":258234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of International Business, Economics and Entrepreneurship","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124476840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to explore the impact of novel COVID-19 pandemic on Islamic stock market returns in Malaysia. We find that COVID-19 new cases exert negative and significant effect on Islamic stock market returns. In addition, COVID-19 deaths significantly and adversely influence Islamic stock market returns. Particularly, the findings reveal that higher levels of COVID-19 new cases and deaths tend to reduce Islamic stock returns in Malaysia. Interestingly, we document that vaccinations have no impact in influencing Islamic stock market returns, signifying that vaccinations are not effective in improving Islamic stock market returns in Malaysia over the sample period. Our findings provide important implications for academics, policymakers and investors to comprehend the effect of COVID-19 on Islamic stock returns. The results suggest that Islamic stock investments in Malaysia do not show as a superior investment option during the health crisis.","PeriodicalId":258234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of International Business, Economics and Entrepreneurship","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132938701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
