However, in the case of a power (instead of a voltage) source, this circuit becomes non-linear and its transient process is difficult to assess. Such cases are typical for renewable (PV and wind turbine) plants being equipped with DC-AC power converters.Submitted in the presented article is an approximation procedure, which gives a linearization and an efficiently approachable technique to compare real current (voltage) curves with estimated results. As a result, the development of low-pass filter fed by power source becomes relatively simple task.","PeriodicalId":254455,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on the Science of Electrical Engineering in Israel (ICSEE)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115474745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We consider both unmatched disturbance at the boundary and also in the domain, and also matched disturbance at the control boundary. To make the control design more easy, the in-domain disturbance is first shifted to the control boundary by introducing a new variable transformation, and the anti-stable boundary term is then transformed into a dissipative boundary term by constructing a transport equation. We find an ordinary differential equation (ODE) with delay that describes the relationship between the output tracking error and the coupled signals consisting of the disturbance and reference signal, by using Riemann variables. Based on this ODE with delay, we apply the internal model principle to find the dynamic controller that achieves the output regulation while rejecting the disturbances, and uses only the tracking error as input.","PeriodicalId":254455,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on the Science of Electrical Engineering in Israel (ICSEE)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115548467","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The influence of nano/micro-crystal dots, embedded in a thick SiO2 film grown on a silicon substrate, has been studied as a function of several parameters such as the sweep rate, the penetration depth, the dots size and the various materials properties of several elements. We numerically demonstrate capabilities of future faster optoelectronic responsivity. The obtained series of C-V curves enable a good forecast of the possible usage and applications, such as MOSFET, tunable capacitor, memory unit, and Boolean logic element.","PeriodicalId":254455,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on the Science of Electrical Engineering in Israel (ICSEE)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115703073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These traffic lights may be accompanied by audio signals to aid the visually impaired. In many cases, when such an audio signal is not available, a visually impaired pedestrian cannot cross the road without help. In this paper, we propose a technique that may help visually impaired people by detecting pedestrian traffic lights and their state (walk/don’t walk) from video taken with a mobile phone camera. The proposed technique consists of two main modules- an object detector that uses a deep convolutional network, and a decision module. We investigate two variants for object detection (Faster R-CNN combined with a KCF tracker, or Tiny YOLOv2) and compare them. For better robustness, we exploit the fact that abrupt switching from red to green or vice versa is unique to traffic lights. The proposed technique aims to operate on a mobile phone in a client-server architecture. It proves to be fast and accurate with running time of 6 ms per frame on a desktop computer with GeForce GTX 1080 GPU and detection accuracy of more than 99%.","PeriodicalId":254455,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on the Science of Electrical Engineering in Israel (ICSEE)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124317463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we show that the water-filling problem is equivalent to the classical Knapsack Problem, which is known to be NP-hard. Consequently, using the linear complexity solutions for water-filling problems and the equivalence of Knapsack Problem with water-filling problem, we present new linear time approximate solutions for Knapsack problem.","PeriodicalId":254455,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on the Science of Electrical Engineering in Israel (ICSEE)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117324028","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of these methods is the direct-path dominance (DPD) test showing robustness to both reverberation and noise. However, this method has been developed for processing in the spherical harmonics domain and is restricted to microphone arrays with a spherical configuration. In this paper, we propose a new method for extending the DPD test approach to arrays with arbitrary configuration, by removing the frequency dependence of the steering matrices using local focusing transformations to support frequency-smoothing and robustness to reverberation. A simulation study for evaluating the performance of the method for a binaural array is presented, validating the theoretical developments.","PeriodicalId":254455,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on the Science of Electrical Engineering in Israel (ICSEE)","volume":"170 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124059709","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Combined with two-hop routing, whereby packets traverse the optical network twice, they provide high throughput regardless of the traffic pattern and with no need for centralized control. Although being a circuit-switched optical interconnect intended primarily for latency-insensitive traffic, reducing latency saves energy and buffer space, and is thus important. We show that latency can be reduced by properly timing the transmissions by the sender, and offer insights along with some useful results.","PeriodicalId":254455,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on the Science of Electrical Engineering in Israel (ICSEE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130059159","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It optimizes an existing algorithm on the subject of the distinction of lying and standing activities of dairy cows. In this paper we present a new way to cluster speech segments by applying a stochastic vector quantization (VQ) with a cosine metric together with a speaker clustering quality estimator based on logistic regression. The VQ is performed on codebooks of different sizes, and the choice of the best clustering result is estimated using logistic regression. The algorithm is tested on a large range of speakers, between 2 to 60. The results are compared to those of the mean-shift clustering method, which was already tested for this task several times. The results are a bit below those of the cosine similarity measure-based mean-shift clustering. The advantage is in the run-time which is approximately 10 times faster.","PeriodicalId":254455,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE International Conference on the Science of Electrical Engineering in Israel (ICSEE)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123070408","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
