It is based on Stationary Bionic Wavelet Transform (SBWT) and MMSE (Minimum Mean Square Error) Estimate of Spectral Amplitude. It consists at the first step in applying the SBWT to the noisy speech signal in order to obtain eight noisy Stationary Bionic Wavelet Coefficients. Each of them is denoised applying the denoising technique based on MMSE Estimate of Spectral Amplitude. Finally, the inverse of SBWT is applied to the denoised stationary bionic wavelet coefficients in order to obtain the enhanced speech signal. The performance of this approach is justified by the computation of the SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio), the Segmental SNR (SSNR) and the PESQ (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality).","PeriodicalId":250315,"journal":{"name":"2020 4th International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115327175","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These systems are widely used in various disciplines, despite the existence of different surveillance systems such as hand geometry, iris scan, as well as fingerprints. Following their simplicity and non-intrusive nature, they will be the next generation solution expected to support security and surveillance applications. Various approaches are being developed including local, holistic, and hybrid approaches. The main contribution of this survey is to review some well-known techniques for each approach and to give the taxonomy of their categories. After that, we are going to expose the advantages and the disadvantages of these schemes in terms of robustness, accuracy, complexity, and discrimination. Finally, we will criticize the implementation results of various mentioned databases.","PeriodicalId":250315,"journal":{"name":"2020 4th International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132563603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The comparison takes into account losses, efficiency and total harmonic distortion (THD), depending on the switching frequency. Methods for calculating inverter losses and efficiency are well known and widely used in the literature. In this paper a simple model has been developed using Matlab/Simulink package to compute losses and efficiency in both of two-level and three-level inverter investigating analytical expressions given in the literature. The simulation results obtained prove that, the three-level inverter seems to be the most efficient topology.","PeriodicalId":250315,"journal":{"name":"2020 4th International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"208 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114653916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work proposes a combined method that introduces the Fuzzy C-Means clustering (FCM) and the artificial neural network (ANN). The combination is developed to identifying the class of the system status, according to a computed performance index (PI). The FCM algorithm is proposed to split the training data into numerous clusters in order to reduce the difficulty of the training data and enhance the efficacy of the ANN. The off-line simulations method is used to generate the training set of the FCM-ANN classifier. Then, we propose the direct method for reducing the dataset dimensionality. The New England 39-bus system is used to evaluate the combined classifier, via Matlab Simulink. A comparative study between the classification results of the FCM-ANN and those of the ANN is discussed.","PeriodicalId":250315,"journal":{"name":"2020 4th International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124092961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a method based on a Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) is present and favorably implemented to solve the path planning problem, reformulated as a hard optimization problem with constraints. The objective function is reformulated based on the path length and environmental constraints specific to the UAV while avoiding all the obstacles. The Water Cycle Algorithm (WCA), Crew Search Algorithm (CSA), Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA), Differential Evolution (DE) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) metaheuristics are retained as comparison tools for statistical analysis. In order to observe the performance of the GWO compared to the other algorithm, many indicators are used as the performance criteria. The obtained results, conducted by numerical simulation, are satisfactory, perfectible and very encouraging in the aim of a future practical implementation on a hardware target of the proposed planning approach.","PeriodicalId":250315,"journal":{"name":"2020 4th International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121948179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Retailers need to innovate to maintain a competitive edge over competitors and ensure business sustainability. Therefore Research and Development is a crucial component of businesses growth. Intuition based approaches are replaced by supply chain computerized solutions such as inventory management, warehousing, allocation and replenishment. This paper aims at building a reinforcement learning agent capable of placing optimal orders for the sake of constructing a replenishment plan for next period. The goal is to develop a novel method of inventory replenishment. We base the developed module on the recent breakthroughs of reinforcement learning research in using deep neural networks for control. We compare the classical RL methods to the recently introduced Proximal policy optimization algorithm. As far as we know, this is the first time PPO is used in Supply Chain Management.","PeriodicalId":250315,"journal":{"name":"2020 4th International Conference on Advanced Systems and Emergent Technologies (IC_ASET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125250400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
