An investigation was made on the species life-forms and ecotypes of wetland plants in Dongting lake wetland. In accordance with the unified monitoring specifications of the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network (CERN), the Dongting Lake Wetland Ecosystem Observation and Research Station conducts long-term positioning monitoring on the species composition, species life-forms, growth forms and ecotypes of typical beach vegetation in the wetland ecosystem in response to the changing hydrological conditions of Dongting Lake. The dataset of long-term monitoring conducted on three typical plant communities (Carex sp., Miscanthus lutarioriparius and Polygonum hydropiper) in Dongting Lake wetland has been verified by experts to ensure the accuracy of the data. We then classified and processed the data to obtain the dataset of community composition of plant life-forms, growth forms and ecotypes on Dongting Lake beach (2011–2015). The dataset covers a total of 8 indicators, namely species name, Latin name, life-form, growth form, ecotype according to light intensity, ecotype according to water requirement, ecotype based on soil pH and ecotype according to responses sediment burial. This dataset comes with detailed background information to ensure its consistency across both spatial and temporal dimensions. This dataset comes with detailed background information about site information and site management records to ensure its consistency across both spatial and temporal dimensions. This dataset can provide support for the analysis of the classification of plant life forms and the composition and structure of ecotypes, and serve as valuable reference for further study of vegetation succession in Dongting Lake wetland.","PeriodicalId":248373,"journal":{"name":"China Scientific Data","volume":"34 15","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140358422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Qinghai Province is abundant in the total amount of water resource, but the spatial-temporal distribution of water resource in Qinghai Province is extremely uneven. Moreover, due to the factors such as climate and geographical environment, most lakes lack monitoring for a long time. As a significant carrier of surface water resource, lakes are important indicators for studying the impact of climate change and human activities on the water cycle process. The domestic GF-1 and GF-6 satellites have the ability to observe the earth repeatedly for a period of 2 days by collaborating, thus the surface water area can be obtained at high frequency. A high-precision surface water level can be acquired by ICESat-2, which has centimeter-level height measurement accuracy. The water area derived from GF-1/6 and water level derived from ICESat-2 were adopted to build the models for monitoring spatial-temporal variation of water storage of lakes in Qinghai Province. We developed a dataset of spatial-temporal variation of lake water storage in Qinghai Province during 2018–2022 via the models. The monitoring accuracy of the dataset had been verified with an overall accuracy better than 93%, which meets the needs of remote sensing monitoring of spatial-temporal variation of lake water storage. The dataset contains a total of 60 monthly storage variation of 33 lakes an area of more than 30 km2 in Qinghai Province during 2018–2022. These lakes are mainly distributed in the west, north and southeast of Qinghai Province. The dataset can provide basic data support for lake, hydrological and climate change process monitoring, dynamic evaluation of water resources, and optimization of water resources management and scheduling in Qinghai Province.","PeriodicalId":248373,"journal":{"name":"China Scientific Data","volume":"22 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140359058","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Carrying out spatial and temporal evolution monitoring of the river shorelines is an important basis for grasping the hydrological changes of the river in the basin. In this study, we used the high-frequency and resource satellite image data of the Gansu section of the Weihe River in 2008, 2015 and 2022 as the base map, and extracted the river shorelines of the Gansu section of the Weihe River through the processing of image ortho-correction, alignment, fusion, mosaicing and cropping; combining with the image characteristics of the image, we adopted the method of interactive deciphering, including the Weihe River management range line, the Weihe River waterfront boundary line, and the Weihe River outer edge boundary line. Additionally, high-precision UAV aerial image data were utilized, integrating typical areas and important markers on the image base map data to ensure the reliability of river shoreline extraction. This dataset can provide data support for studying the hydrological dynamic monitoring and driving mechanisms of the Weihe River main stream. Furthermore, it can serve as basis for making informed decisions regarding the protection of river and lake shorelines and the ecological management of the river.","PeriodicalId":248373,"journal":{"name":"China Scientific Data","volume":"37 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140360788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, it plays an important role in promoting efficient economic growth and fostering sustainable regional development. Using Russia, Brazil, Indian and South Africa as case studies, this paper summarizes the development policies, support and regulatory bodies, management measures and future plans with regard to scientific data in the four countries. The findings show that BRICS governments have different perspectives and needs for scientific data, leading them to establish different levels of support and regulatory agencies based on their individual national conditions. This has resulted in the formulation of a series of distinct scientific data development policies across the BRICS nations. At the same time, it is found that BRICS nations attach great importance to scientific data due to its rapid development, immense potential and strong sustainability, and the construction of the BRICS cooperation mechanism has played a positive role in promoting mutual cooperation and efficient development across regions. This study hold significant reference value for the formulation of scientific data-related policies and planning in China.","PeriodicalId":248373,"journal":{"name":"China Scientific Data","volume":"26 21","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140358675","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

High-quality datasets play a pivotal role in advancing research in target tracking and fusion technologies within this domain. This paper addresses the data requirements for technological research in target tracking and fusion, as well as the limitations of currently available datasets, including data scarcity, inadequate scene design specificity, uniform data formats, and incomplete data descriptions. We used simulation software to emulate multi-sensor multi-target detection data in complex scenarios, so as to present a dataset tailored for typical maritime surveillance scenarios—targeting ships using 2D radar and Electronic Support Measures (ESM) sensors. The simulation software comprises a scenario generator and a sensor simulator, creating a mature target tracking scenario simulation environment with realistic detection data modeling capabilities. The dataset includes data from 2D radar and ESM sensors, covering typical maritime ship categories, supporting configurations with radiation sources. It is designed for a variety of scenarios such as high-speed motion, dense traffic, multi-sensor data fusion, specific ship detection, and cross-positioning. The dataset contains a total of 368,155 target tracks from 101 ships, spanning a duration of 15,000 seconds. The data format conforms to actual equipment reporting scenarios, while the detection error model accurately reflects real-world conditions. Accuracy assessment and data completeness are ensured through various methods including normality testing of data error, scenario testing of detection rate and false alarm rate, as well as field research. This dataset can provide fundamental data for algorithmic research and validation in the ship's target tracking, trajectory fusion and other related areas.","PeriodicalId":248373,"journal":{"name":"China Scientific Data","volume":"5 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140359670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, due to the escalating effects of climate change and human activities, the eutrophication status of the lake has been increasing year by year, resulting in a gradual deterioration of its ecological function. In order to study the spatio-temporal variation characteristics of eutrophication in Poyang Lake and protect its water resources and environment, we systematically collected water samples from 72 sites across the lake during the peak algae growth periods of the summers from 2021 to 2022. In the laboratory, the determination of eutrophication indicators, including total nitrogen, total phosphorus, permanganate index and chlorophyll-a at sampling sites was conducted in strict accordance with the methods stipulated by national standards and industrial standards. Based on this, we obtained the dataset of spatial distribution of water eutrophication indicators in Poyang Lake during high flow period from 2021 to 2022. This dataset can provide precise insights into the water pollution and eutrophication status, as well as the spatial distribution characteristics of Poyang Lake during high flow season, which has important data supporting significance for the pollution control of Poyang Lake basin and water environment protection of the Yangtze River basin.","PeriodicalId":248373,"journal":{"name":"China Scientific Data","volume":"25 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140360819","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
