The objective of the project is to optimize the jet noise and enhance the jet entrainment of the exhaust flow with the atmosphere by providing sudden expansion inside the chamber (divergent section) of the Supersonic C-D nozzle. Flow characteristics such as axial jet decay, radial jet decay at successive locations downstream and elevated core length are calculated experimentally and compared with those of a conventional C-D nozzle (Base line nozzle) under identical experimental conditions. The jet decay characteristics along the jet marked line for the grooved nozzle is to be compared to those of the conventional one. With better jet decay characteristics, it possesses shorter potential core length resulting in considerable reduction of jet noise.","PeriodicalId":247963,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (IJMET)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126558275","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Alcohols are good substitutes of gasoline, as they have high octane number and also they are renewable in nature. Investigations were carried out on a variable compression ratio spark ignition engine fitted with catalytic converter run with the gasohol (blend of 80% gasoline and 20% ethanol by volume) for reducing carbon monoxide (CO) and un-burnt hydro carbon emissions in the exhaust employing manganese ore as catalyst. The influence of parameters of void ratio, weight of the catalyst, speed and load on reduction of pollutants were determined. A microprocessor based analyzer is used for measurement of CO/UBHC emissions in the exhaust of the engine. The speed and the load were observed to have strong influence on reduction of CO/UBHC in the exhaust. Air injection aided further reduction of CO and UBHC emissions. Gasohol decreased CO emissions considerably when compared to neat gasoline operation.","PeriodicalId":247963,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (IJMET)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121991745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This current research goals at evolving an electrorheological fluid damper for reducing vibrations of tools and endorsing improved machining results during hard turning. The ER fluid performs like a spring having nonlinear vibration features tackled by configuration of ER fluid, the electric parameters of electric field and the shape of plunger. Turning investigations are conducted to attain a set of electrical compositional and shape constraints which will reduce tool vibrations and endorse improved cutting performance throughout turning of steel EN24 of 49 HRC with minimum fluid application. It is perceived that utilization of ER fluid damper decreases tool vibrations and increases turning performance efficiently. If this awareness gets commercialize it will beneficial for machining industries.","PeriodicalId":247963,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (IJMET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129138866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rattan fiber was chosen because of its good strength, abundant availability in Indonesia and inexpensive price. The study was conducted by testing the strength of a composite rattan fiber, simulation using computer software, comparing with pre-existing spoilers and making prototypes of spoilers. Based on the results of the study, the strength of continuous rattan fiber composite materials with polymer matrix is as follows: maximum tensile strength of 27 MPa, maximum compressive strength of 44 MPa, maximum flexural strength of 46 MPa, and maximum impact strength of 29 kJ/m 2 . As a comparison, ABS plastic material used in many car spoilers has a maximum tensile strength of 35 MPa, a maximum compressive strength of 48 MPa, a maximum flexural strength of 56 MPa, and a maximum impact strength of 31 kJ/m 2 . From the results of the simulation of loading using software carried out on the composite material of polymer rattan fibers, we obtain a compressive strength of 2000 N load of 51 MPa with compressive strain of 0.00873 mm/mm. From the results of simulation loading using software carried out on ABS plastic material, we obtain a compressive strength for the 20110 N load of 48 MPa. The manufacturing process has produced a prototype of spoilers that are ready to use with good results. The results of this study will be a reference for the next development.","PeriodicalId":247963,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (IJMET)","volume":"154 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121391945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Significant work has been performed by investigating the effects on various properties of ferrous metals like tool steels at cryogenic temperatures. As for Al alloys, the effects of cryogenic treatment on properties of age hardenable alloys like 7075are not reported extensively in current literature. This work consists of application of DCT at -185oC to 7075 aluminum alloy for various time durations. The cryogenic treatment was incorporated between the solutionizing and artificial aging of conventional T6 temper of Al alloy. This treatment sequence has been referred earlier in the literature for CT to 6061 Aluminum Alloy with significant improvements. The behavior of this alloy to the treatment was identified by measuring hardness, electrical conductivity and surface roughness. These measurement parameters were found to be significantly affected at specific cryogenic soaking duration and statistical analysis of experimental data supported the claim.","PeriodicalId":247963,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (IJMET)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129610759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the development of cloud computing, ERP has become affordable software for SMEs. Currently there are so many ERP products on the market, where most SMEs do not have IT resources who understand how to choose the appropriate ERP product. One of the success of ERP implementation is determined in the product selection phase, therefore it is very important to know what factors must be considered when choosing an ERP product. In this paper, we follow the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) research method, reviewed 51 articles, to explore criteria of selection ERP in SMEs. This paper classifies the ERP selection factors into five factors and is grouped between developed and developing countries. ERP selection factors for developed and developing countries are quite different. But in general, the most important factor to be considered is business functionality.","PeriodicalId":247963,"journal":{"name":"INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (IJMET)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132866459","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
