The aim of this study is to provide supplementary and specific data especially in addition to available literature information about the ultrasonographic findings and breast cancer risk in women younger than 40 years who applied to the breast outpatient clinic with isolated mastalgia, and had no breast cancer risk factor. Method: Ultrasonograpic examination results of women between dates 01/01/2011 and 01/01/2015, and contribution of ultrasonography to diagnostic procedure of breast cancer were retrospectively evaluated. Results: A total of 1066 patients were included in the study. There were 555 (52%) women with focal and 511 (48%) women with diffuse mastalgia. US examination revealed only 7 suspicious cases, all of whom were over 30 years of age. Of women with suspicious masses, 6 had focal mastalgia, and invasive cancer was diagnosed in 3 of cases after core biopsy. In only one patient in the diffuse mastalgia group a suspect mass was detected which revealed to be a benign lesion on histopathological examination of core biopsy specimen Conclusion: Careful clinical examination may be adequate especially in women younger than 30 years of age who have no breast cancer risk factor, and only diffuse mastalgia complaint. However, possibility of breast cancer should be considered in women older than 30 years even they have no breast cancer risk factor, and no complaint other than focal mastalgia.","PeriodicalId":246377,"journal":{"name":"İstanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Tıp Dergisi","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125974946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: Cross-sectional study. The healthy individuals between 18 and 45 years of age who did not have any ophthalmological disorder were included in this study. OCTA images measuring 6x6 mm were obtained for the evaluation of superficial retinal capillary circulation. The parameters such as foveal avascular zone (FAZ), FAZ perimeter, FAZ circularity, vessel density, and perfusion density which were provided via the device were evaluated. Results: A total of 100 eyes of 50 healthy individuals were included in the study. Thirtytwo (64%) of the study participants were women and 18 (36%) were men. The mean age was 32.5±7.1 years (range 20-45 years). Mean FAZ area was 0.30 mm2. Mean full vessel density was 18,00 mm-1 and mean full perfusion density was 0,439. Conclusion: Qualitative and also quantitative evaluation of the results of optical coherence tomography may provide a valuable benefit as for diagnosis and follow-up of retinal diseases. The normal values obtained from this study may shed light on future studies to be performed.","PeriodicalId":246377,"journal":{"name":"İstanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Tıp Dergisi","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131103519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: A Retrospective Cohort Study was performed, and data was collected from the documented medical records of 89 patients with unilateral chronic lateral epicondylitis. Patients who received local injections of ozone (n=49) and Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (n=40) were evaluated. Pain assessment was made by means of Verhaar scores before and after the first injection and the at 1st, 3rd, 6th, and 9th months after treatment. The two groups were compared with respect to baseline demographics including age, gender, dominant and affected sides and Verhaar scores. Results: Evaluation of pain scores after the treatment showed significant differences between the two groups. Assessment of pain at the 3rd and 9th months after treatment demonstrated that the ozone group had statistically significantly better scores at rest (p<0.001), on compression (p<0.001) and during activity (p<0.001). Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that ozone injection may be superior over Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy which is an effective therapeutic option for longterm pain relief in patients with chronic lateral epicondylitis who are refractory to conservative treatment.","PeriodicalId":246377,"journal":{"name":"İstanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Tıp Dergisi","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124459979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The diagnosis and treatment of DAH should be carried out as soon as possible. DAH has various causes such as vasculitis, infections, pesticides intoxication, barotrauma, diffuse alveolar damage, pulmonary embolism and may be associated with the use of anticoagulants (1). Warfarin therapy is a rare cause of DAH (1). We aimed to present a 69 year-old male patient who developed diffuse alveolar hemorrhage as a complication of warfarin therapy used for valve replacement. After diagnosis of DAH, warfarin treatment was discontinued and fresh frozen plasma, metilprednisolone, vitamin K were administered during mechanical ventilation therapy. The patient was responded well and INR decreased to therapeutic value. DAH should be remembered during warfarine therapy to avoid challenging situations.","PeriodicalId":246377,"journal":{"name":"İstanbul Kanuni Sultan Süleyman Tıp Dergisi","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123709471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
