Good education needs a high quality teacher. SEA Teacher Project is a project held by SEAMEO to revitalize teacher education. Practicum for pre-service teachers plays a big role in the development of teacher in the future. Departing from SEA Teacher Project’s goals, this case study research aimed to explore how the teachers in the practice schools provided analogies and used visual aids in chemistry learning and how were student teachers’ perspectives in chemistry learning. The participants were 4 chemistry pre-service student teachers who experienced this program between 2016 and 2019. This research also explored the issues and challenges in the field to improve chemistry pre-service student teachers’ preparation, the fruitfulness of the program based on pre-service student teachers’ perspective. The results showed that analogies and visual aids are strengthen each other in chemistry learning. The SEA Teacher Project held by 2016 to 2019 has given significant experience of teaching for the participants.","PeriodicalId":246056,"journal":{"name":"THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, ENVIRONMENT, AND EDUCATION","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126854173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The influence of large size (ES) on average, the percentage of influence based on learning to the critical is greatest and the relationship between variables towards improving students’ critical thinking skills in science (physics, chemistry, and biology). The research method used is descriptive with the form of survey research. In the study, studies, which can be meta-analysed concerning predefined criteria, were examined and 98 studies fulfilling these criteria were identified. The results of the data analysis resulted in an effect size of 1.2 with an effect of 83.45%. From the relationship between the variables obtained, Based on Based Learning in enhancing the ability of politics Entrepreneurs who best apply it during physics lessons, with the effect size of 1.36 categories is very high and provides an influence of 90%. The level of students’ understanding is influenced by teaching methods and student learning styles. The aim of this article is to implement an active learning model based on experiential learning by considering learning styles for mechanical engineering vocational students. This study was performed in a state vocational school of a regency in Central Java. Case studies are carried out in the Basic Engineering Mechanical Design subjects in vocational high schools. Mastery of the basic concepts of machine design is a basic competency supporting knowledge to study and explore the field of mechanical engineering. Student learning style preferences were measured using a Index of Learning Style (ILS) by Felder-Solomon. Identifying learning style preferences could be beneficial to the teacher because they could maximize the learning process by adjusting methods, strategies, and teaching approache...","PeriodicalId":246056,"journal":{"name":"THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, ENVIRONMENT, AND EDUCATION","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131993621","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of this research was to find of 2nd-year college students’ argumentation performance in the science class, including the way they prepare themselves in arguing, how the argumentation performance has changed over and how they engage in argumentation practice as a part of scientific communication. Scientific Reading-based Inquiry (SRbI) was applied in order to develop students’ scientific argumentation. This classroom research was held in one of the science education department in Central Java, Indonesia. Data were collected and analyzed from various sources: students’ argumentation performance while presenting their ideas, their writing quality, structured interview, and lecturer notes. Performance assessment was used to qualitative declare students’ understanding of argumentation practices. The results indicated that students’ ability to argue in the context of scientific argumentation has varied and changed as they experienced in citing proper literature and used the information as a part of evidence and explanation. It recommends that proper instruction can bolster students in developing stronger comprehension of scientific knowledge and arguments.","PeriodicalId":246056,"journal":{"name":"THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, ENVIRONMENT, AND EDUCATION","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134570998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
