A topological optimization of this configuration leads to the proposed topology characterized by the use of only six power switches per phase. Modeling, modulation and control technique of the proposed rectifier are performed in order to draw a nearly sinusoidal lines currents and line-to-line voltages. A method for balancing DC link output voltages is also proposed in order to protect loads, passives and actives power devices. The analysis is base on bifurcation theory, small signal stability evaluation and time domain simulations. A new and efficient procedure is proposed to increase voltage stability margin and to overcome oscillatory instability by adopting appropriate parameter values within plausible range for the system controllers. Effect of SVC and TCSC devices on system performance are considered and compared in detail. At first, the stability of the test system without FACT devices is investigated. That integration cannot be seen isolated from the strategic transport planning. Under this context this paper presents an office facility, equipped with renewable energy sources, where the users can recharge their plug-in electric vehicles, using the available renewable power. The system controller is composed by a network of distributed local controllers interconnected to a server. This system manages the power transfer between the building and the parked electric cars, including full discharge battery procedures. The methods and systems proposed are also described. Several simulation results are presented. The algorithm offers optimum torque capability for PMSMS despite significant changes in dc link voltage and machine parameters. This algorithm can be easy integrated in the field oriented control of PMSMS with or without mechanical sensors, but also in scalar control algorithm (without motor current measurement). The control identifies when the machine enters in the flux weakening region and adjust the d- and q-axis current reference according to the dc link voltage. Therefore, modern numerical finite element calculation procedures, which incorporate moveable rotor parts, non-linear iron saturation effects and realistic geometric properties, have been systematically established and applied to an induction motor in the time-domain for the prediction of several transient and quasi-steady characteristics. Those kinds of buoys could be used as large-scale devices in power plants and as small-size devices in electronic supply as well. In this work a three phase tubular permanent magnet linear generator is analyzed to supply electronic devices such as sensorial buoys with energy scavenging. A soft-computing algorithm based on a finite element method has been developed and a parametric approach is presented in order to provide a first optimization for electronic applications. Power converter supply current can be used as additional information of extreme importance when a sensor error or failure occurs. Its analysis is then important and permits to develop appropriate fault tolerant control strategies to solve failures or errors on phase current measurements. Time-domain waveforms of the phase currents and power converter supply current are presented and discussed. Two different speed operating conditions examples are presented, in order to understand the differences on SRM dynamic behavior in the all speed range. For both situations, the normal and the faulty operation due to the absence of one motor phase are analyzed. This theoretical study shows the effect of the wound-rotor induction generator and its parameters on load-bus voltage collapse phenomena.
