This study examines entrepreneurship relevance to healthcare industry, especially how doctor’s entrepreneurship affects marketing capabilities and internationalization performance through attracting foreign patients and expanding overseas. Although research on the internationalization of service industries as hotels, restaurants exist, studies of healthcare services did not progress. This study presents the model and hypothesis and analyzed empirically focus on plastic surgery, since mainly most internationalization practices come out in this healthcare service sector at the moments. Researching the needs of entrepreneurship for international projects targeting 74 plastic surgeon, the innovativeness, proactiveness and risk-taking of the doctors have a meaningful effect on the marketing resources of a hospital, also show positive effects on international achievements. In addition, marketing capability in entrepreneurship and internationalization has a mediating effect on the positive (+) effects on financial performance, but innovation was not statistically significant in the non-financial performance. These results were compared and analyzed with other examples of manufacturing and service industries, and also discussed in the theoretical and practical implications for future policy establishment.","PeriodicalId":242376,"journal":{"name":"Health Service Management Review","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126101655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, even the government recognized how this problem is serious, they only talk about situations, not improvement plans. Other countries such as Singapore and Thailand have lots of plans to attract foreign patients. Nowadays the medical quality could not be an element of competition. Non-Medical services and aftercare services are the method which can satisfy foreign patient and could make them visit again. This study's data was collected by practician who works on 'Big 5' hospital in Korea. The main flow of this study composed with focus group interview and questionnaire was added to support this study's idea. Questionnaire development was based on interviews and literatures. It was distributed to 'Well Foreign patients attracting medical institutions'. The results of this study showed that non-medical services were conducted well, but the way to support showed different between medical institutions. Some are supporting themselves, but some are supporting thorough agency. However, aftercare system was not popular. Many people who works on hospital knew that aftercare is an important issue, but they did not have related department. only 1of 3 has department for aftercare. Also depends on nation, they serve different services. So, in Korea we need to build 'Care Center' to mange non-medical services and aftercare services. According to experts of foreign patients said that it is hard to manage all people. Therefore one united care system could help them to care patients well. Through this research, Korea's policy of revitalizing medical tourism should be grow up, and refer to attract many foreign patient as an medical power.","PeriodicalId":242376,"journal":{"name":"Health Service Management Review","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132720277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The elderly made up a record 13.1% of the total population and 37.8% of the total health spending in 2015. And this would be accelerated because the baby boomers are becoming 65 years old and more by 2020. Catastrophic Health Expenditure(CHE) is the index which can represents the households’ burden of health spending. Despite its importance, there has been few studies about CHE of the elderly households and especially no panel study yet. Therefore, this study is carried out. The study used 3-year data from the Korea Welfare Panel Study conducted from 2012 to 2014. We defined CHE if a household’s health expenditure is equal or greater than the threshold value if income remaining after subsistence needs has been met. We used 3 different threshold values which are 10%, 20% and 30%. In order to look at the elderly households which experienced CHE in depth, correspondence analysis and panel logit analysis were conducted. Also, based on the Two-part Model, Panel analysis was conducted in order to define the factors that affect the households which experienced CHE at 10% threshold level to spend health expenditure. This study showed two notable results. First, there has been a difference in CHE occurrence rates among 3 different age groups, which implies that the older people are, the more easily they can experience CHE. Secondly, the households with no private insurance are showed to have a higher CHE occurrence rate, showing that private insurance does not make a significant difference in health spendings. With the results, private insurance can play its role in protecting households from CHE as a supplement of national health insurance. Therefore, this study can be used as evidence to develop healthcare policy for the elderly. Also, it needs to conduct studies on CHE especially about different age groups.","PeriodicalId":242376,"journal":{"name":"Health Service Management Review","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132536356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
