D2D communication can improve energy efficiency and prolong the battery life of user equipment (UEs) by offloading computation tasks from a UE to a nearby UE via a D2D link. How to coordinate UEs to offload tasks in D2D underlay communication integrated with MEC Service for reducing interference and improving network energy efficiency is a very important subject. In this paper, we study a D2D underlay communication integrated with MEC service system that provides three offloading policies that are: (i) executing tasks in local device, (ii) offloading tasks to servers in local region, (iii) offloading tasks to a nearby UE. Furthermore, we formulate the computation offloading problem as a potential game and propose a D2D communication integrated with MEC service offloading computation algorithm for solving the computation offloading problem in a short period. The simulation results show that our proposed algorithm can reduce overall system energy consumption under time constraints.","PeriodicalId":241692,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on High Performance Compilation, Computing and Communications","volume":"146 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134144056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A push-pull structure combined with adaptive compensation algorithm is proposed. The method was verified by simulation. Traditionally, mapping algorithms verification are based on the software, such as Noxim, which is too slow for large scale NoC emulation. For the reason, we propose a NoC mapping platform and an emulation system with virtualization technology based on FPGA. The experiment show that, the platform can select appropriate mapping algorithms for multi applications, and map-ping algorithm can be improved by the feedback emulation result. Using virtualization technology, the Mesh NoC with 72 node consume only 14% hardware resource on xc7k325tf-fg900-2. We implement the SCPU to generate the data characteristic of the application being mapped with only 2% resource overhead.","PeriodicalId":241692,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on High Performance Compilation, Computing and Communications","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116765106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The Linux (monolithic) kernel, incorporates a complex I/O subsystem design, using redundant memory copies and expensive user/kernel context switches to perform I/O. Memory-mapped I/O, which internally uses demand paging, has recently become popular when paired with low-latency storage. It improves I/O performance by mapping the data DMA transfers directly to userspace memory and removing the additional data copy between user/kernel space. However, for data-intensive applications, when there is insufficient physical memory, frequent page faults can still trigger expensive mode switches and I/O operations. To tackle this problem, we propose CO-PAGER, which is a lightweight userspace memory service. CO-PAGER consists of a minimal kernel module and a userspace component. The userspace component handles (redirected) page faults, performs memory management and I/O operations and accesses NVM storage directly. The kernel module is used to update memory mapping between user and kernel space. In this way CO-PAGER can bypass the deep kernel I/O stacks and provide a flexible/customizable and efficient memory paging service in userspace. We provide a general programming interface to use the CO-PAGER service. In our experiments, we also demonstrate how the CO-PAGER approach can be applied to a MapReduce framework and improves performance for data-intensive applications.","PeriodicalId":241692,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on High Performance Compilation, Computing and Communications","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134095616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
