An Amblyomma oblongoguttatum larva with morphological abnormality was collected along with other specimens (larvae and females) of this species and with morphologically normal Amblyomma naponense nymphs in a wild pig Pecari tacaju in a rural area of the state of Rondônia / Brazil, during research of tick-borne disease environments. The morphologically abnormal specimen showed a bifurcation of the posterior region of the opisthosoma, without other altered morphological characters. This is the first record of morphological abnormality at the larval stage of Amblyomma oblongoguttatum.","PeriodicalId":241534,"journal":{"name":"VETERINÁRIA NOTÍCIAS","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134278136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Ingredients from sources of animal origin have higher levels of sodium; however, rations formulations used to feeding broilers are based on corn and soybean meal, making it necessary to supplement sodium in poultry feeding. However, the requirement of sodium in broilers can be influenced by sex, production stage, environmental conditions, lineage type and interrelations of minerals. In this way, it is important to determine the optimal levels of sodium in the feeding and at each stage of production so that its growth is maximized. Therefore, the objective with this literature review was to expose the importance of sodium in the feeding of broilers.","PeriodicalId":241534,"journal":{"name":"VETERINÁRIA NOTÍCIAS","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132392456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Eighty six strains of Salmonella spp. were used, they were previously isolated from three different lots in different collections. The identification of serovars was done by serotyping and the resistance to antimicrobial agents was determined by disc diffusion. A variety of serovars was observed, and the 86 strains were serologically identified as: 28 (32.55%) S. Typhimurium, 20 (23.26%) S. Agona, 17 (19.77%) S. Infantis, 6 (6.98%) S. Panama, and 15 (17.44%) S. Minnesota. The diversity of serovars indicated that different factors influence the infection of finishing pigs and the persistence of microorganisms in the carcass after slaughter of these animals. More than 50% of the isolates were resistant to nine of the 11 tested antibiotics. The drugs that microorganisms had the highest percentages of sensitivity were sulphazotrim and norfloxacin, 22.1% and 14%, respectively. S. Typhimurium serovar was the most isolated, including in the carcasses, and also showed the largest difference in antimicrobial resistance when compared to other serovars. The profile of multidrug resistance observed in this study highlights to the necessity of a judicious observation of antimicrobial resistance in zoonotic foodborne bacteria. de sensibilidade foram o sulfazotrim e a norfloxacina, 22,1% e 14%, respectivamente. S. Typhimurium foi o sorovar mais isolado, inclusive nas carcaças, e também o que demonstrou maior diferença quanto à resistência aos antimicrobianos, quando comparado aos outros sorovares. O perfil de multirresistência observado neste estudo alerta para a necessidade de vigilância e monitoramento sistemático da resistência aos antimicrobianos em bactérias zoonóticas transmitidas pelos alimentos. The technique used for the antimicrobial resistance was the disk diffusion test according to the protocol described by the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards (NCCLS, 2002). The antibiotics used for the test were: amoxicillin 10 μ g, norfloxacin 10 μ g, gentamicin 10 μ g, erythromycin 15 μ g, nalidixic acid 30 μ g, tetracycline 30 μ g and sulfazotrim 25 μ g (Laborclin®); ceftiofur 10 μ g, enrofloxacin 5 μ g and lincomycin 2 μ g (Sensifar®). The strain E. coli ATCC 25922 was used as a control. The plates were incubated at 37 ° C for 18 to 20 hours, and then the sensitivity halos (in millimeters) were measured using a pachymeter and subsequent classification of the microorganism as sensitive, intermediate or resistant to the tested antimicrobial. The antimicrobial resistance profile determined for the different serovars was compared using the Chi-square test with 95% of confidence. The calculations were performed using the Biostat 5.0 program (AYRES, 2007).","PeriodicalId":241534,"journal":{"name":"VETERINÁRIA NOTÍCIAS","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128700051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

O experimento foi realizado no setor de caprinos e ovinos na fazenda experimental Capim Branco da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, Minas Gerais Brasil,onde foram utilizados 5 borregos cruzados Santa Inês x Dorper , machos inteiros, com idade média de 8 meses e peso médio de 37 kg alimentados com silagem de quatro diferentes híbridos de milho (SHS 7920 PRO, BM 3061, BM 3063 PRO 2, BM 840 PRO) e tratamento controle (milho comercial, sem hibridação). Os animais foram distribuídos em um delineamento em quadrado latino 5x5 e as médias foram comparadas por meio do teste SNK, considerando o nível de significância a 5%. Foram realizadas mensurações da produção por hectare, consumo, digestibilidade aparente da matéria seca (DMS) e da fibra em detergente neutro (DFDN), escore fecal (EF) e perfil metabólico energético e proteico. Nos resultados não tivemos diferença estatística entre os tratamentos para consumo, DMS, DFDN e para o perfil metabólico energético e proteico (P>0,05). O consumo de água não apresentou diferença estatística, porém manteve-se dentro da normalidade. O mesmo resultado foi verificado para o consumo de proteinado. Contudo, os híbridos SHS 7920 PRO e BM 3061 apresentaram menores valores de EF (P<0,05). Os híbridos de milho avaliados para a produção de silagem para alimentação de borregos propiciaram consumo, digestibilidade aparente e perfil bioquímico sanguíneo similares, diferenciando apenas numericamente na produção por hectare.
