Therefore, the current article examines the impact of sustainable energy, such as renewable energy (RE) output and RE consumption, technology adoption, green finance (GF), and economic growth (EG) on environmental sustainability in China. The article has gathered the data from World Development Indicators (WDI) and the central bank from 1990 to 2020. The study employed autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) to check the connection among the constructs. The findings exposed that the RE output and RE consumption, technology adoption, GF, and EG have positive ES in China. These findings guide the regulators in developing regulations related to improving ES using sustainable energy, GF, and technology adoption.","PeriodicalId":240042,"journal":{"name":"iRASD Journal of Energy & Environment","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115793316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are multiple reasons for deciding to choose FRP instead of steel such as their lightweight which can be quite beneficial to the design of buildings, high strength, and high flexibility. However, the initial use of this material was anticipated in the retrofitting of heritage buildings or any other damaged structures. There are several studies that concentrated on the use of FRP to enhance shear and flexural strength of concrete structures. However, limited studies concentrated on the effect of FRP on flexural behavior of concrete beams. Therefore, the aim of this research is to investigate the flexural performance of concrete beams that are reinforced using fiber reinforced polymers. The experimental program that was conducted in this study was divided into 4 different beams, 2 of them were reinforced using ordinary steel, while the other 2 were reinforced using carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP). The highest potential deflection occurred in steel beam was 4.2 mm after applying a maximum of 42 MPa. The second beam was reinforced with FRP and accomplished 38.06 MPa, and the resulted deflection was around 12mm. The third beam was reinforced with steel and highest flexural strength measured was 75.56 MPa, while the deflection resulted from this load is 5.52 mm. Finally, the last beam was reinforced using FRP rebar and resulted deflection was 11.11 from 60.84 MPa. This study has showed the potential of using FRP in concrete structures especially in terms of flexural performance. Further studies are needed to investigate the influence of water and chemical substances on the performance of concrete beams reinforced with FRP.","PeriodicalId":240042,"journal":{"name":"iRASD Journal of Energy & Environment","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130070006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Environmental problems are more prominent in developing countries. With the growing development, the issue of environmental degradation is also enhanced. The non-renewable energy consumption is the main cause of environmental degradation and this problem can’t be ignored. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to analyze the connection among energy consumption, growth of an economy, and emission of carbon dioxide gas in Pakistan. The data is collected from World development Indicators. Autoregressive Distributed-Lag Model (ARDL) is used for the analysis. The outcomes of ARDL technique stipulate that energy consumption and growth of an economy rise the emission of CO2 in Pakistan. On the basis of these results, it is suggested that policy makers in Pakistan must implement and encourage different sources of energy, which are renewable and will support to fulfill the huge demand of energy to boost the economy and to contribute in a sustainable environment of Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":240042,"journal":{"name":"iRASD Journal of Energy & Environment","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129934533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to investigate the factors of renewable energy consumption in Thailand. The data has been analyzed from 1980 to 2018 to identify the influencing factors for the overall energy use of renewable energy in Thailand using the Autoregressive Distributive Lag model (ARDL). The results demonstrate that renewable energy has a long-term relationship with fossil fuel consumption, financial expansion, foreign direct investment, trade openness, and GDP per capita. Further economic and financial development boosts renewables consumption of energy in Thailand. At the same time, trade and non-renewable energy (use of fossil fuel) detract from renewables consumption of energy. Hence the government of Thailand should elaborate on strategies that can increase the renewable energy amount because renewable energy plays a significant role in economic development without affecting the environment. It also increases the share of renewable energy in total energy consumption but less than renewable energy consumption.","PeriodicalId":240042,"journal":{"name":"iRASD Journal of Energy & Environment","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114887069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, use the conventional unit-root test, augmented Dickey-Fuller root (ADF), and (PP) Phillips-Perron unit root tests to confirm stationarity of variables. Later, Autoregressive Distributive lag (ARDL) test used to examine the cointegration level with long and short-run estimates. ARDL bound test verifies that there exists a long-run association among the model. Empirical results indicate that the financial sector improves the quality of the environment, while energy consumption inversely affects the environment. Furthermore, they indicate the presence of EKC hypothesis validation in Thailand by confirming the negative and positive effects of economic and square economic expansion towards carbon emission levels. Financial development is proxied by domestic credit to private divisions with a detrimental impact on a carbon production level. This study could pave the way for policymakers to capture the essential environmental pollutants better and develop efficient and effective energy in the presence of well-organized economic policies. That can significantly reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the presence of economic development. It is the only research to examine the long-term influence of the financial sector on (CO2) carbon dioxide emission, using a cointegration-approach. Therefore, this research is a moderate demand to reduce the possibility of biased estimation of econometric variables and to close gaps in the existing literature.","PeriodicalId":240042,"journal":{"name":"iRASD Journal of Energy & Environment","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122728448","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Before estimating the model, firstly check the stationary of variables for this purpose Levin Lin Chu unit root applied, results indicate that all variables are stationary at level. GMM is efficient in eliminating fixed/random effects in the model and also overcome the problem of endogeneity in the model. For causal analysis used Granger causality test and results indicates that there exists a bi-directional association among the consumption of energy and carbon emission. There exits uni-directional association exists among Economic development, expenditure on health and environmental degradation. GMM results indicate that spending on the health sector and the consumption of renewable energy sectors decline the environmental degradation level; on the other hand, economic growth boosts the ASEAN nations' carbon emission level. The recommendation of the study is to increase the level of economic development by enhancing the energy sector from non-renewable energy to renewable energy because it boosts the level of economic growth, which ultimately improve the health development and technologies which will strengthen the health facilities in the nation and also reduce the level of carbon production that helps to keep the environment healthy and clean.","PeriodicalId":240042,"journal":{"name":"iRASD Journal of Energy & Environment","volume":"2 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120807034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Climate change is a major determinant of agricultural productivity all over the world. This sector is the most vulnerable sector to weather change. The productivity of this sector is being affected by several factors of climate change like temperature and rainfall patterns. The core objective of the study is to determine the impact of climate change on agricultural production (wheat, rice, and sugarcane) in Pakistan. Time series data from 1985–2018 is taken from the Pakistan Economic Survey, Metrology department of Pakistan, and the World Bank for the current analysis. Autoregressive Distributed Lag model is used to analyze the impact of climate change on agricultural production in Pakistan. The results show that climate change has an influential impact on agricultural production in Pakistan. The increase in mean temperature reduces agricultural production while the rain positively affects agricultural production. It is suggested that the government should give subsidies on agrarian tools, seeds, and fertilizers.","PeriodicalId":240042,"journal":{"name":"iRASD Journal of Energy & Environment","volume":"223 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115649251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Empirical findings have shown that the value addition level of agricultural products minimizes CO2 emissions in those countries where pollution is high. And found a positive relationship between energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Trade liberalization has made it possible to reduce CO2 emissions in economies where environmental pollution is getting lower. While the use of fossil fuels has intensified CO2 emissions, renewable energy consumption has confirmed positive effects on the pollution of the environment. While Climate-smart agriculture preferred institutions to raise income and productivity, adjusting to climate change sustainably leads to decreased greenhouse gas emissions. For example, new energy resources, renewable energy help keep the environment clean and healthy. It avoids excessive dependency on fossil fuel energy for the determinants of the agriculture sector. On the other hand, Trade policy can motivate the flow of investment opportunities and technology for a specialty in economies of scale and production. Therefore, examining strategies that encourage the agricultural sector's productivity and creating active markets for international trade in ASEAN countries will improve living standards and keep the environment clean and healthy.","PeriodicalId":240042,"journal":{"name":"iRASD Journal of Energy & Environment","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129144066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Electrical energy (power) is the modern form of energy that is produced from hydel, thermal, nuclear, and other sources. Gas, oil, and coal are the thermal sources of electricity generation. Literature has validated the coal and natural gas consumption-led growth hypothesis for Pakistan. Based on time series data taken for the period 1987-2019, the present study attempts to explore the economic growth implications of oil-, gas-, and coal-consumption in power sector in Pakistan. The data was obtained from World Development Indicators (WDI) and from the Pakistan Economic Survey (PES). Three econometric models were specified to check the short-run and long-run effects of energy consumption (in the form of oil, gas and coal) in power sector on economic growth. Auto-regressive Distributed Lag Model (ARDL) was used for empirical analysis. The results show that the consumption of gas and coal in the power sector have a positive and statistically significant effects on the economic growth of Pakistan. The study advocates for more reliance on gas and coal in power generation as compared to oil for economic growth in Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":240042,"journal":{"name":"iRASD Journal of Energy & Environment","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133208173","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
