The surface area and pore structure of HZSM-5 and γ-Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> was measured with nitrogen physical adsorption. Results indicated a chemical adsorption of copper valerate occurred on the surface of γ-Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> and external surface of HZSM-5. The =(COO)<sub>2</sub>Cu was the adsorbing group. There even existed a chemical reaction, which resulted in the formation of valeric acid.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":23983,"journal":{"name":"Zeolites","volume":"19 5","pages":"Pages 425-428"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1997-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/S0144-2449(97)00104-8","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78274178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was observed that practically all aluminum is incorporated into the solid during the first hours of reaction, whereas titanium and silicon are continuously incorporated. Increasing Ti content in the reaction mixture results in an increase in particle size, indicating that the presence of Ti reduces the nucleation rate. X-ray diffraction and diffuse reflectance spectra show that when the Ti content is less than 4% of the tetrahedral atoms, this element is incorporated in the sieve framework in isolated form.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":23983,"journal":{"name":"Zeolites","volume":"19 5","pages":"Pages 416-421"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1997-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/S0144-2449(97)00121-8","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79262541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
