Methods: The study subjects were 216 university students and data were collected through self-report questionnaires including knowledge, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, behavioral intentions to take the Pap test, and health responsibility. Results: Knowledge regarding the Pap test was moderate. The factors of knowledge, attitude, and perceived behavioral control negatively influenced the behavioral intention of the Pap test. However, the factors of subjective norms and health responsibility positively influenced behavioral intention. Conclusion: Subjective norms are the most importance factor to increase the intentions of the Pap test among unmarried college women. It is also necessary to eliminate barriers to undergoing pap testing, as well as to provide nursing intervention to obtain correct knowledge and a positive attitude regarding the Pap screening test.","PeriodicalId":238374,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Korean Public Health Nursing","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132692860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, we investigated what positive roles a type 1 diabetic camp program would play on subjects in terms of depression, anxiety, self-esteem and self-efficacy. Methods: This study evaluated 38 diabetic children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes who attended summer camp. Subjects were analyzed using a one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental research design. Results: There was a significant decrease in depression (t=3.55, p=.001) and anxiety (t=3.09, p=.004) after attending camp, as well as a significant improvement in self-efficacy (t=-3.64, p=.001). However, there was no significant change in self-esteem (t=0.14, p=.891). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that type 1 diabetic camps are an effective intervention program to promote psychological and emotional stability among diabetic children; therefore, it is recommended that various diabetes programs related to camps be developed.","PeriodicalId":238374,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Korean Public Health Nursing","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123823289","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study was to examine the factors that influence the institutionalization of elderly using home care services in a Korean long-term care insurance system. Methods: This study used the data of ‘2009 Satisfaction survey of Korean long-term care system’. The survey proceeded to use a sampling data based on region, level of long-term care need, and insurance type among the beneficiaries between August and September 2009. The onset dates of institutionalization of 1,095 participants were ascertained from long-term care insurance claim data. This study calculated the hazard ratio through the Cox Proportional Hazard Model. Results: A total of 176 subjects who were institutionalized in nursing homes were included. There were higher risks in the group that included those who were 85 years and over, had dementia or fracture, used home-visit nursing service, and were not supported by direct family. Conclusion: The results of this study have policy implications to supplement the home care service system and postpone nursing home institutionalization of elderly.","PeriodicalId":238374,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Korean Public Health Nursing","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126934819","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: The design of this study was a quasi-experimental, one group pre-post test. A total of 25 community dwelling cancer patients in J city were included in this study. An integration intervention was 30 times, 10 weeks program. The data were collected between May and November of 2014. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 through paired t-test. Results: There were significant differences in the quality of life (p=.007) and self-care agency (p=.042) after 10 week's intervention. Conclusion: The results indicate that an integrated intervention program including educational, cognitive, emotional and physical intervention is effective for community dwelling cancer patients. Further attention should be paid to the intensity and period of an integrated intervention program.","PeriodicalId":238374,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Korean Public Health Nursing","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129366676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: The data were collected from 205 senior students in B and D metropolitan cities by structured questionnaires between November 1 and November 30, 2015. The data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analyses with SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: The mean score for happiness was above-average. Happiness significantly differed by satisfaction with nursing, perceived physical health status, and reason for entering nursing school. The significant predictors of happiness included gratitude disposition, social awareness and professionalism of nursing among subscales of nursing professional value, and perceived physical health status. The regression model explained 45.5% of happiness. Conclusion: To improve the happiness of senior nursing students, nursing educators need to develop intervention programs to increase gratitude disposition and perceived physical health status, as well as specific educational programs that strengthen social awareness and professionalism in nursing students.","PeriodicalId":238374,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Korean Public Health Nursing","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130447008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
