This treatment is usually applied for difficulty in breathing. The use of mechanical ventilation devices has unique benefits to the patient. However, it can also cause various problems. Reduction in communication rank as one of the most negative experiences in mechanically ventilated patients. Effective communication with ventilator-based patients is essential. Nursing management of a mechanically ventilated patient is challenging on many levels, requiring a wealth of high technical skills. The Patient Communications Board improves communication, maintains information and creates a comfortable, attractive setting for patient, family and health care workers. The research methodology used for the study is a Quasi experimental approach, post-test only design with a comparison group to assess the effect of the communication board on the level of satisfaction over communication among clients on mechanical ventilator. The sample was selected by purposive sampling technique and included 30 (experimental group-15, control group-15), mechanically ventilated patients in PESIMR hospital, Kuppam. The control group patients were provided with routine communication methods, while the experimental group were communicated with communication board. The level of satisfaction on communication was assessed by a 15items rating scale. Data was analysed using both the descriptive and inferential statistics. There was a significant difference in the level of satisfaction on communication among the patients who were communicated using communication board compared to the routine method of communication. The communication board had significantly improved the communication pattern and increased the satisfaction among the patients who are mechanically ventilated.","PeriodicalId":23709,"journal":{"name":"Volume 5 - 2020, Issue 9 - September","volume":"351 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75494162","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This highly transmissible disease till date has infected around 17 million people worldwide. The infection spreads through the sputum or the droplets generated by the infected person by sneezing, coughing or talking. The droplets can settle down on the surfaces and floors or can remain in air where the viability of the virus varies from few minutes to several days. People can also get infected on coming in close proximity of the infected person. The patients experience mild to high fever, sore throat, headache, myalgia, tastelessness and shortness of breath along with pneumonia like symptoms in serious cases. A large number of asymptomatic cases were also reported making the detection difficult in early stages. The recovery rate as of now has reached to 78%, and fatality rates are low, still people are prone to various other long term symptoms after recovery which is a matter of concern. The researchers and scientists have found prominent effect on nervous system and other vital functions of the body, this article gives a brief review of such complications.","PeriodicalId":23709,"journal":{"name":"Volume 5 - 2020, Issue 9 - September","volume":"7 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79355246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This fish was reported to be caught by fishing gears like filter net, fish corral, bottom set gill net, stationary lift net, motorized scissors net, and spear. To understand the population dynamics and associated status of white spotted rabbitfish in Panguil Bay, the growth, mortality, exploitation and recruitment pattern were determined from June 2002 to May 2003. A total of 1,513 samples of white spotted rabbitfish were collected from the four sampling stations established in Panguil Bay. Growth was estimated using the FiSAT II and the estimated parameters were L∞ = 33.20 cm and K = 0.54 yr-1. Total, natural and fishing instantaneous rate of mortality values were Z = 3.80 yr-1 , M = 1.18 yr-1 , F = 2.62 yr-1 and the exploitation rate value was E = 0.69 yr1 . Projected recruitment pattern of S. canaliculatus suggests that this species spawns all year round. Based on the results, S. canaliculatus caught by fish corral in Panguil Bay from June 2002 to May 2003 was overexploited and that management strategies of this resource must be promulgated and implemented to address the depleting fishery.","PeriodicalId":23709,"journal":{"name":"Volume 5 - 2020, Issue 9 - September","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74383207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In spite of that, plastic is light and easy to make hence the increased production across the globe. This study was conducted in the aftermaths of Kenya’s ban on plastic bags with the intention of analyzing how traders have complied with the ban. Compliance levels were reported to be lower in Kibera (30%) compared to Karen (60%). The banned plastic carrier bags were still in circulation and manufacturers blamed poor enforcement from the government and porous borders. Purportedly, traders were not given time to prepare and comply neither were they adequately consulted. The low compliance levels were attributed to limited public participation of the traders hence the need to adopt a circular economy model where every item is of value and consumers are able to reduce, recycle, reuse and relevant government agencies able to provide ecofriendly and affordable alternatives.","PeriodicalId":23709,"journal":{"name":"Volume 5 - 2020, Issue 9 - September","volume":"37 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78653071","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
