The beams of nonrelativistic protons and electrons with a radius about 1 nm were investigated. The cases of different energies in the range of currents from pA to muA typical for modern facilities were examined. It is found that certain types of branch points are directly associated with the leaky-wave cutoff behavior and modal interaction regimes on planar dielectric slab waveguides (including nonreciprocal waveguides) and printed-circuit transmission lines.
