This paper proposes that QR Code (Quick Response Code) is embedded with an invisible watermark by using Discrete-Cosine-Transform, or DCT for an information hiding (secret information) within the group through the QR Code image with invisible watermark. The encoding process used the DCT to allow QR Code image to be broken up into different frequency bands using block DCT based method; comparison between mid-band coefficients then embed with the invisible watermarking information into the middle frequency bands. The watermark extraction system determines a watermark in the QR Code image by reverse the embedded process from the invisible watermark. This QR Code image with invisible watermark preserves an information hiding text in the QR Code image.","PeriodicalId":235347,"journal":{"name":"2011 Ninth International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128289044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the issue of age group differences has been neglected, as participants were mostly university students which represent only one age group. People of different age groups are different, not only in their physical attributes, but also in their cognitive and socioemotional attributes. This paper investigated the influence of age group differences on usability of culturally accommodated websites. Research participants were tested with three different web prototypes. Two of them represented two different cultures, while another one was designed to be neutral to the other two cultures. The results were evaluated both subjectively and objectively. The results indicate that there were interaction effects between age group and culture, as represented in each prototype, on web usability was significantly different. In conclusion, interpretations of interaction effects are discussed.","PeriodicalId":235347,"journal":{"name":"2011 Ninth International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126561836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to the decision process of the SOM classifier, the traditional technique, called the winner-take-all, is employed to search the final class of an unknown input. In practice, some prototypes on the SOM classifier might not be representatives of purity class regions. Hence, the decision process of the SOM requires information about both the winner prototype and its neighbors to improve an accuracy rate. In this paper, the Fuzzy Integral decision technique is applied to aggregate information about the winner prototype and its neighbors for determining the final class of an unknown input. The experimental results of the UCI datasets showed that the proposed decision technique could improve accuracy rates better than the traditional technique.","PeriodicalId":235347,"journal":{"name":"2011 Ninth International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131251763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An influence diagram is a simple visual representation of a decision problem. It can be used to assist in rational decision making for different purposes. We proposed a practical method and a piece of source code in C#.net to build an influence diagram based on a SMILE engine. We presented the steps on how to set four types of nodes and their properties in an influence diagram using C#.net. This piece of source code also includes the method to construct each component such as decision, chance, deterministic, value and arcs between the nodes in the diagram. It also includes the method to perform Bayesian updating and Bayesian inference according to Baye's theorem. The developer can apply this proposed method for the extension model of influence diagrams. He or she can also embed this piece of source code in an existing decision support application.","PeriodicalId":235347,"journal":{"name":"2011 Ninth International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115350007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So, testing the quality of the resulting information will support the trustworthiness of the DW system. A number of approaches were made to describe how the testing process should take place in the DW environment. In this paper we will present briefly these testing approaches, and then a proposed matrix that structures the DW testing routines will be used to evaluate and compare these approaches. Afterwards an analysis of the comparison matrix will highlight the weakness points that exist in the available DW testing approaches. Finally, we will point out the requirements towards achieving a homogeneous DW testing framework. In the end, we will conclude our work.","PeriodicalId":235347,"journal":{"name":"2011 Ninth International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115639828","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Contrary to previous power tracing techniques which select the generators based on the magnitude of traced power, the proposed technique performs the generator selection based on the stability index contributed by individual system's generator. After tracing the contributed stability index, the sizing process of generators' power to be dispatched has been performed via a new hybrid optimization algorithm; Blended Crossover Continuous Ant Colony Optimization (BX-CACO). From experiment and validation on IEEE 30 bus reliability test system (RTS), it is revealed that FVSI-GT exhibits great performance as the method capable to select exact generators with the enhancement of system's static stability, losses and fuel cost minimization with fast optimization via BX-CACO.","PeriodicalId":235347,"journal":{"name":"2011 Ninth International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123277659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, most approaches suffer from the high dimensionality of feature space. To overcome this problem, the use of feature selection techniques with statistical text categorization is investigated. The methods were evaluated based on Chi-Square, Information Gain and Gain Ratio. The data used to test the system consisted of 1,510 documents from 2009-2010, word segmentation algorithm to key-phrase 4,408 attributes and single word 2,184 attributes. Classification techniques applied Decision Tree (ID3), Naïve Bayes (NB), Support Vector Machine (SVM) and k-nearest neighbor (KNN). Results showed that the Support Vector Machine was found to be the best technique with accuracy of a single word at 84% and key-phrase at 74% based on feature selection with Chi-Square, Information Gain and Gain Ratio with F-measure. In future research, application of text to the semantic system should be investigated further.","PeriodicalId":235347,"journal":{"name":"2011 Ninth International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129222418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We conceptualize the relationship among MNO, MVNO, and other related variables in the proposed pricing model. Next, we study financial options design for MVNO's investment in Enhanced-Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (E-UMTS) networks. We also present the relationship between MNO and MVNO and investigate the total costs, total revenues, and net profit. Finally, we propose a real options analysis as a tool for valuing strategic investments and decisions of the MVNO in enhanced UMTS network market. The aim is to investigate the weighted average cost of capital (WACC) of the MVNO and net present value (NPV). The cases are examined and analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively, using realistic assumption and parameters. The analysis of the results obtained from the model focuses on of capital expenditure (CapEx) and operational expenditure (OpEx) to provide recommendations which may be utilized and made a greater contribution in the MVNO's investment decision making process.","PeriodicalId":235347,"journal":{"name":"2011 Ninth International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128138816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

MADS is a class of direct search algorithms for nonlinear optimization. The MADS algorithm is a modification of the Pattern Search (PS) algorithm. The algorithms differ in how the set of points forming the mesh is computed. The PS algorithm uses fixed direction vectors, whereas the MADS algorithm uses random selection of vectors to define the mesh. A key advantage of MADS over PS is that local exploration of the space of variables is not restricted to a finite number of directions (poll directions). This is the primary drawback of PS algorithms, and therefore the main motivation in using MADS to solve the industrial production planning problem is to overcome this restriction. A thorough investigation on hybrid MADS and GA is performed for the quality of the best fitness function, decision variables and computational CPU time.","PeriodicalId":235347,"journal":{"name":"2011 Ninth International Conference on ICT and Knowledge Engineering","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128811920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
