Recently, a newly developed transform model is proved to be powerful. We propose a new framework for overcomplete transform learning, searching the optimal transform within tight frame set, which is much simpler than the existing one. A closed form solution is derived to update such a transform. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing ones in terms of recovery of reference transform for synthetic data and denoised PSNR for image denoising.","PeriodicalId":234499,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 13th International Conference on Signal Processing (ICSP)","volume":"213 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115950064","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper focuses on the delay performance of COP-1 protocol over long and lossy link. The typical work conditions and process are studied combined with the characters of both the link and the transmission task. Based on the analysis of the procedure, the quantificational expression of the accomplishing time of the telecomand task is deduced. The explicit relationship between the delay performance and the frame number, the propagation delay and the frame lost rate is given out. How the performance of COP-1 will be affected by the task and link parameters is also displayed by the simulation results.","PeriodicalId":234499,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 13th International Conference on Signal Processing (ICSP)","volume":"127 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115658052","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed model, called segment-layout topic model, automatically partitions the instances into several subclasses, discovers the component segments in each instance as the possible parts, and learns the part-based model for each subclass. Unlike the defined parts by high-level object knowledge, the segments focus on the low-level visual features and are easier to be found from the object instances. An iterative process is further proposed to implement model learning. Finally, the proposed method is examined by the experiment of object detection, and is compared with other supervised or semi-supervised methods.","PeriodicalId":234499,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 13th International Conference on Signal Processing (ICSP)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117084501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Small aperture array is easy to carry, install, deploy and operate because of small volume, light weight, and it is preferred to large aperture array, and is frequently used in many aspects such as the navigation of ships and aircrafts, locating interfering or illegal transmitters. But at the same time, small aperture array has poor performance in precision. This work demonstrates the signals received by small aperture array are processed coupled, and the differences between signals in amplitude and phase are amplified greatly, which makes it possible that small aperture array is able to have good performance.","PeriodicalId":234499,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 13th International Conference on Signal Processing (ICSP)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125385146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we study the fundamental frequency estimation and its relationship to the propagation distance for periodic surface vibrations generated by electric devices. A novel peak interval selection method (PISM) is first developed to enhance the estimation accuracy on fundamental frequency. Then, a new Frequency Band Energy Percentage (FBEP) feature is proposed to characterize the energy variations among different frequency bands whose central frequency is a multiple of the fundamental frequency. In addition, the relationship between the energy variation in the FBEP feature and the propagation distance is also analyzed. Experiments on real recorded periodic vibrations generated by two electric hammers with different fundamental frequencies are conducted to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.","PeriodicalId":234499,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 13th International Conference on Signal Processing (ICSP)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122087683","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is one of the most popular tracking-by-detection algorithm. MCNF is particularly effective due to its simple model and optimal solutions. However, complex scenarios, such as noisy detections and multi-objective interactions, make it difficult to track multi-objects in consecutive frames of video sequence. To effectively handle such situations, we proposed a novel method. The idea is a combination of multiple features and min-cost network flows (MF-MCNF). Experimental results on public tracking datasets demonstrate that our approach achieves a greater improvement comparing with existing MNCF algorithms.","PeriodicalId":234499,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 13th International Conference on Signal Processing (ICSP)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125239454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the speckle noise of ultrasound images and the complexity of cardiac tissue, the segmentation is still manual or semi-automatic. A fully automatic segmentation method based on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is proposed in this paper: localization segmentation method, which can obtain the position of the Epicardium and Endocardium based on the output of the network, then the segmentation is completed according to reprocessing based on the position. We concentrate the solutions of the following problems to supervised learning models: 1) the need of training images which have obvious features; 2) the design of network; 3) correlation between group images. The performance of our approach is evaluated using four different datasets containing 800 ultrasound images of Sprague-Dawley rats. The quality grades of the manual and automatic segmentation methods have been calculated, and the proportion of poor segmentation quality is decreased from 3.48% to 2.39%, which shows that our proposed method has improved segmentation accuracy and stability. The efficiency of our fully automatic segmentation method is higher than traditional segmentation strategies. The proposed method can optimize the clinical procedure and decrease the variability of manual segmentations.","PeriodicalId":234499,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 13th International Conference on Signal Processing (ICSP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128984331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, how to realize a high-performance flexible universal real-time SAR signal processing system is one of the main challenges nowadays. The paper proposes the design architecture and implementation of a high-performance real-time SAR signal processing system with the TI's latest multi-core DSP TMS320C6678 based on the VPX 3U standard. It shows the strong computation ability, stability, easy reconstruction and good adaptability to a variety of imaging algorithms. By the successful application cases of the multi-mode, multi-polarization, multi-resolution space-borne and airborne real-time SAR imaging systems, its flexibility and high-performance could be adequately proved. Moreover, our experiment result indicates that a SAR RD algorithm takes only 21.55s for a 0.2m∗0.2m resolution 4GB(16K×32K complex points) image, achieving real-time performance.","PeriodicalId":234499,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 13th International Conference on Signal Processing (ICSP)","volume":"1980 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128484035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Element-space is firstly mapped to beamspace by using the beamforming matrix, and then the array covariance matrix is used for sparse representation. In doing so, the sparse Bayesian learning (SBL) technique is applied to enforce sparsity at the true source locations and the coarse sources locations are obtained. Finally, the refined method is used to get the high-resolution DOA estimation based on the coarse estimation. The proposed method not only reduces the computation load, but also improve the precision of DOA estimation.
